About 9am, I walked in to the ordering desk and needed a minute to view the menu, as I had never eaten there before, the lady was seemingly irritated with needing to give me time to find something to order. Once order was placed, I filled my cup with unsweet tea and it was soured. For the sake of pure awareness, I let the lady know about the finding and she further tasted it but didn't find it unpleasant. Mind you, I have ran a restaurant on my own and have worked in the restaurant industry since high school.... I know what bad tea tastes like. I make a new drink choice and move on, not the end of the world with 15 other drink choices available!! Once my food arrived and I'm half way through eating, she proceeds to come to the table in a very offensive manner asking "Well would you like me to make you new tea? What do you want me to do?" At this point, I was shocked at how she approached me and did not have much response other than "It's alright, I got something else to drink, thank you." So I finished the meal, go to top off with lemonade before leaving, and the manager/owner hurries over and says "No, No! That is not lemonade, just the concentrate!" In my mind I think to myself "umm, sorry Sir, I didn't know that. I thought that the "Hours of Operation 8am-10pm" on the door meant that this place was fully functioning and in service within the hours that you have posted. Some good and some bad with this location. We sat at the bar and asked about happy hour. Bartender told us half off for house margs, so I ordered one. Way too much mixer in the margs for my taste. Tacos were good except for the brisket in one, which still had the membrane in it. Yuck. Be sure to order chips without salt, because it seemed like they dumped the entire shaker in a basket. Even if you like salt, it's way too much. The bartender did provide us with fresh, unsalted chips (she was great, by the way). Got the bill and was charged full price for the marg. The manager refused to do anything even after I told her that they should honor what they told us, which the bartender fully admitted to. The manager made excuses rather than own up to their mistake. I called the manager and he was nicer but denied his employee said that, and said that a corporate person must have intercepted the call and they were the rude one that hung up. Why do people like this??? I love tacos. It hurts me to write a bad review of any taco, but these were the saltiest two tacos I have ever had in my entire life. The tortillas were ice cold, and there was hardly any sauce on them. They were just horrible. I got the trailer park and the Baja shrimp. I wanted to start with those two and then go back and get more but both of them were so horrible. There was no way to go back. What am I missing? Why does everyone think these horrible tacos are so good? They aren't even cheap. It was almost 15 bucks for two tacos. Never again will I go back never again Forgot I also got the queso. Our second time enjoying Torchy's after first eating at a California location many years ago. We loved the variety available on the menu and the fact that you can try different options (a la crate). Opted for several different options, including the Chicken Fajita, Brushfire, Mr. Orange, Trailer Park and Fried Avocado. We enjoyed them all & the accompanying salsas. Also enjoyed our starter queso appetizer and the fried cookie dough dessert. We hope to have a chance to try other Torchy options in the future! read more

I was driving through Texas on the 40 and needed some dinner before I made my way to Oklahoma City. Stopped here based on reviews and what I've heard from some people I know who have eaten here before. Overall - just meh! The place was packed on a Friday night which surprised me when I ate the food and realized the tacos are lowkey a bit overpriced for their size and they're not even thaaat good. They're not bad, but just average! I still don't get the hype with Tex-Mex food overall. As someone from the Southern California area, I find Mexican food as a whole to be much superior, but that's just me! I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come back here, however it's not a bad option if you're dining in and having a drink. They do have a bar btw! read more

First time trying this chain. To be fair we hit it up just before closing on a Friday night. Food was good. Not crazy good but tasty, we were hungry! The queso dip was really good, pretty spicy though so be ready. I had the beef burrito in my wife had the beef tacos put them stuff. They were good maybe on a scale of one to 10 or six or so. We're glad we gave it a shot. I'll probably try a couple other places in the future but definitely might be back. I frequent Torchys off soncy in Amarillo often. Breakfast, lunch, brunch & dinner. I love the vibe when Meg (bartender), cashier- Araceli, Bailey (Mgr), James (GM) are at the restaurant. Their customer service an interaction with people most importantly, customers is the way it should be interactive, friendly, smiling, and good hospitality.. on the other hand, it is a complete shit show and I've even opened the door and walked back out, choosing not to eat or drink at torchy's when other individuals that have zero customer service are not friendly have a resting bitch face or working example Emily bartender Sonia bartender. And manager Ashley, but apparently thinks the restaurant is hers and can make up and apply different bill rules, changing the amounts to a less ideal situation for people at myself that are veterans and are also Ag/Franchise tax exempt.. i've had interaction with the majority of everybody that works here from staff to management. The other people. I don't mind either way. They're neither good nor bad they come and they do their job at a minimal, but at least they smile. Being a business owner myself and delivering a quality product, customer service and making an engaging and special experience for clients and customers I understand the value of what it is to not just be mediocre but go the extra mile even if we're right, and the customer may be wrong regardless a business needs to be ran accordingly and professionally. Yum! I was sad they didnt have the Pink or the Independent taco. We ended up with the grand burrito, fried avocado taco, the orange taco, side of corn, guacamole, queso, (like three bags of delicious chips went with everything) and a 8oz avocado salsa and an 8oz tomatillo salsa. All of it was delicious. Except for the tomatillo salsa. The taste made me reminiscent of lemon pledge, oddly enough. One not so good thing out of many good things was fine.
