Doing a cross country trip to California and stopped in Texas for the night. With that being said, we did a hunt for some tacos. It was my first time in Texas and Torchy's did not disappoint. I had the green chile and fish tacos. Both super yummy, flavorful, and filling! My partner got the trailer park and crossroads. We also got the queso and chips. Literal 10/10. Driving through Amarillo and decided to make a stop at what I thought was the ever reliable Torchy's. If you've been to one Torchy's you've been to them all. The food is good and the place is clean. I like to pair breakfast tacos with the normal ones because breakfast tacos are cheaper. The Wrangler and Trailer Park (get it trashy for queso) are some of my go to orders. What made this a disappointing visit was that our food took forever to be served. It was probably just coincidence but it's a bad look. I was somewhat flexible so it was fine but if I were just on a lunch break or something it wouldn't have been okay. So food is good per usual, but for some reason service was slow af the time I visited. read more

My first time to try Torchys and it was great. The cashier was super friendly and the staff were all helpful. We'd been there for a late lunch so it was a light crowd. We had an item from the secret menu (hillbilly something); the taco of the month, Texas Hottie; Mr Orange; and beef fajitas. All were really good - love the inventiveness of the flavors. We also had chips and salsa and tried both the red and tomatillo salsa. The red is really good but the tomatillo had a slight bitter taste to it - not sure if that's normal or just that particular batch. We also got to try the chipotle ranch through a kitchen mixup. It was pretty good too, although very mild. Kind of a nice counterpoint to the flavors of the red salsa though. I probably wouldn't order the chipotle ranch myself next time because I'm more of a salsa kind of girl. Strangely they were out of both root beer and sprite although it wasn't marked as out of order, so we ended up with cups of slightly off tasting carbonated water when trying to get our drinks. I alerted the staff and they finally told us it had been out for a couple days .. Overall it was a fun stop. read more

I only had one choice of their selection, but what I had was quite delicious. The Tipsy chick had a lot of flavor. It was a tad spicy but totally doable. The quac was the best I've ever had, besides mine the chips are perfect! I will be back to try another selection. Great tacos! They use brisket style beef for their tacos and the secret menu has some awesome items. It was good to see that the food was not greasy and the meat quality was excellent. The flavor was spot on and very juicy meat. I have now been to 2 different Torchy's and I can say between the two their quality, consistency and pricing was exceptional! After a long drive from San Antonio, we stopped in for a quick bite before getting back on the road to finish our second leg to Denver. It was about an hour before closing time and all the staff was cleaning and shutting things down. We ordered our food to go and it took nearly 20 minutes to get our food. While waiting the staff was rather rude and seemed put off that we were waiting in their area while they were trying to clean. The tacos were pretty amazing and we savored them as we flew down the highway. I'll be back to Torchy's but probably never this one. read more

Much better than my experience in Austin Texas. Everything was hot and tasty. My pork taco was stuffed full of tender and juicy meat, with plenty of pico de gallo and sauce to go with. The beef fajita taco was similarly tender with bits of other vegetables. We took it to go, the curbside pick up was very convenient and one of the employees came out quickly to greet us. Tacos were cold. Couldn't find the entrance and then couldn't find where to order. The layout makes zero sense. We ordered no cilantro or onions and one taco with corn tortilla. There were onions and cilantro on everything and all on flour tacos. It took forever to get to us as well. Our buzzer never went off either. The bathroom was so sorry and smelled awful too. They were nice but something isn't right here. I wouldn't want to live near this location. Sad to say this. We were looking forward to Texas tacos on our drive through. I avoided this place for a long time because I try to stay away from chains but finally one day I was in the area, hungry, I decided to give them a try. I was very impressed with what I got. It was reasonably priced, very good food and a decent quantity for the price. I got migas that first time and there was enough ingredients on the two tortillas to take them apart and make two migas tacos out of them. The only problem I had was that the corn tortillas did fall apart as I was eating so I had to finish it with a spoon. I got rice and beans to go with but I really wouldn't have needed them if I had known the quantity of food I would receive from just ordering the taco.
