    Pork Banh Mi
    William H.

Stopped in For an Egg Bahn Mi today. Man does it always hit the spot! Fresh cocked eggs in a soft bread with cucumber, shredded carrots and fresh cilantro. The combination does not sound like something typical but boy oh boy to the ingredients blend well. Every dish here is always great. I took it to go and it was done fairly quickly.[[HIGHLIGHT]]if you dine in, you will feel relaxed and secluded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Stop in, you won't be disappointed!

Searched for something warm and saw this place and was curious because of its name. So we decided to try this place. At first it was a bit confusing when the "map" tells you to go through a business building (not realizing there's also a front entry) and follow the sign. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was small and quaint and had some customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The gentleman that helped us to our table was very nice, welcoming, and attentive. Anyways... the menu was simple, I ordered the combo pho and my partner ordered the steak pho. It came out within a few minutes. I tried the broth without putting anything in it and it was a bit bland to me (I think it was missing the "umami") then I seasoned it with hoisin, sriracha, pepper, lemon and added basil leaves, and the soup tasted better. They give tons of noodles, a bit skimpy on the protein. I honestly would visit this place again compared to some other pho restaurants in NC. Super easy check out.

The broth at this place Kicks any other spot in Winston out the competition. It's like they've been cooking it for days. Put this broth over anything and it knocks. So the Lrg. Combination is what I get mostly and every time I have to sit down to enjoy it. I don't take it to go unless I have left overs. The service here is friendly and welcoming. The teenagers that work are well trained and motivated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have options to sit outside or indoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Today we had the pleasure of trying the chicken and beef fried rice--and wow, where do I even start? This place continues to amaze me every single time. I've tried many other Asian restaurants in Winston, and this one is hands down my favorite. If you've been waiting for a sign to come eat here, this is it! We also had the grand pleasure of trying their flan. As someone who's Hispanic, I've had my fair share of flan--but I can honestly say I preferred theirs. It has this subtle coffee flavor that I absolutely adore. Don't be afraid to try something new--stop by and treat yourself. You won't regret it!

Love this place so much! The pho has such a flavorful broth it is perfect! They offer two bowl sizes regular and large which I love. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone is always so friendly and the restaurant is so lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you love pho and haven't tried them yet you need to.

Pork Bahn Mi - small, small amount of filling, pate not included
    Fred B.

After my initial visit, I came back to try the Bahn Mi sandwiches here. This is an item that is in scare supply in the WS area! I ordered one Pork ($6.50) and one Beef ($6.95). This is a rather small sandwich, the roll is no more than 6", and the protein filling is more than a little lite. Other than the protein, the ingredients are house mayo, pickled carrots, pickled, daikon, cucumber, and cilantro - the mayo was very thinly applied, and there was no pate, a very traditional item for this sandwich. The sandwiches were just OK , not nearly as good as the ones in Greensboro and Kernersville. All in all, these sandwiches are over price for what you get!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]First time trying this place and it was excellent! Has that hole in the wall city vibe that emanates authenticity.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food is simply done and extremely flavorful, you can tell the pho is made fresh daily. Owner operated by a great little family (husband/wife/son) that provides diligent service! All around we had a great experience and will be back regularly. -tofu lettuce wraps perfectly prepared. Very Savory and not overly salty, I would have a hard time choosing the chicken over tofu in the future it was that good! - Rare Steak and Meatball Pho This was hands down the best pho I've had in Winston or NC for that matter. Very fresh and extremely flavorful and aromatic. As soon as you hit the door you can smell it! The rare steak was cooked perfect but surprisingly liked the meatball best! Thin noodles and a health side of bean spouts, cilantro, and jalapeño on the side. -Beef Bahn Mi Truly a standout and my favorite part of the meal! The bread is really what sets it apart. Perfect ratio of meat to cucumber/carrot/onion. Hit with a little siracha and it was damn good! Will definitely be trying the pork next time

Love this home-family business! Best pho in town with plenty of meat and toppings on the side. Bahn Mi was soft and flavorful. Staff was super friendly and more than happy to offer recommendations and split our checks as well. We came right at opening and it took a little while for one of the staff members to finish their meal before coming over to take our order. This place was also a little tricky to find - I wish they had more signage outside the building! Would definitely come back!

My fiancé and I LOVE this restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Family owned, excellent location, always lovely energy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 10000/10! Very very accommodating to dietary restrictions (I'm vegan). Not to mention the best pho we've ever had! Definitely make sure to try the tofu summer rolls with peanut sauce as well. Simply cannot recommend this place more! What Da Pho is Winston's hidden gem!!!

We continue to be huge fans of this place. The food is always on point. We love the rare beef pho and shrimp vermicelli. Fresh and delicious. Good service. And the pork egg roles are yummy!

A friend asked me to try this place, and I came away pleasantly surprised. The location is a bit odd, buried in the first floor of the Liberty Plaza building. I think this used to be a soul food restaurant back in the day. They've done a nice job on the interior. The staff were very nice and pretty attentive. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and a large rare steak and meatball pho. My friend ordered something similar. The pho was very good, amazing broth, and the large was really big. I had to take a bit home. Would definitely come back.

We wanted sushi and red curry and they delivered us some excellent eats. Service was awesome and the manager still always comes by to ask if everything is ok. Love that. Probably at some point will need a Reno as they have been open awhile but nothing looked bad nice busy atmosphere and lots of customers which is nice to see. We ordered a standard vodka soda from the drink menu. They have drink specials every day as well. Then we tried the sweet heat roll which was so pretty ! Delicious with all the sushi elements. Yum. Then we tried the poke bowl with ahi tuna. Wow so big! Rice, seaweed salad and lots of Veggies and a yummy soy wasabi vinaigrette. The tuna sashimi was so fresh. Then the red curry with chicken. We asked for extra Thai spicy and it was just the perfect heat. Served with white rice this was a huge portion honestly could have served 3 people. We still had a lot left over . They were also great about giving us another bowl of rice which is also a nice touch . The sauce here for this red curry is amazing. I will be back to buy it as we asked if they sell it and our server said yes . It is one of the best I've ever had. We were somewhat totally full !! Haha! Such a fun night here eating all this amazing Great food . I need to make sure I come back sooner than a few years! If your red curry fan definitely come here!

Our soups and appetizer were the absolute best thing we ate. Our entrees were okay. My husband got the beef bulgogi and it needed something. He thought the addition of chili sauce would make it ideal. He gave it a 6 out of 10. I ordered the hibachi beef bowl and it was lacking flavor. The beef was well cooked but didn't seem to have any salt, soy sauce, or anything like that. It was a 5 out of 10.

There food is rich in flavor and there cuisine is mostly known for there use of fresh herbs, coconut milk and aromatic spice paste;known as kroeung(lemon grass paste). I decided to try some entrees from the Khmer menu. I tryed the Malaysian Roti appetizer with side curry. It is so so delicous. The curry is tasty too but a little too sweet for my taste. Main entrees I tryed was the chicken kroeung (sour lemongrass soup) and the braised pork meat on bone cooked in soy sauce( Malaysian style but Khmer people have a similar dish). The chicken kroeung is soup for the soul, filled with alot of green veggies and best eaten with white rice. The braised pork meat is great too. Cooked just right and seasoned good. Its not sweet or salty. Usually I would try braised meat in soy at other restaurants either it would be way too sweet or salty but they made theres just right. They came out with crema on it when I ordered it on the side, but it was quickly rectified. The portion was good. I was full by the end. The flavor was okay. Chicken cooked fine. But it didn't have much of a sweet heat kick to it without the jalapeños added. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily get it again when we go back. My fiancé ordered the Houston beef puffy taco. He thought the taco was very filling. It had meat falling out of it, which was good. It tasted like a typical ground beef taco. He hoped the chorizo would elevate it, but it didn't. It was similar to a Taco Bell beef taco. Overall, decent tacos, and it helped that it was big for the price. We want to visit again, but we'll try other menu items and stick with water.
