The service was incredible, I believe the woman who waited on us, owned the place, it was like we were at her home and she invited over for a meal! I was really excited to try this place because I haven't found a solid pho restaurant and I hate to say but I wasn't impressed. It's in the lower level under Thai harmony if you have a hard time finding it. I'm guessing since it's new that they don't have adequate staff because there was one guy taking orders. It took about 15-20 minutes to get our order taken and then another 45 to get our food. I got the rare steak pho with extra meat but never got the extra meat, so only 4 slices of meat there. The broth was really good but my noodles were a little more Al dente than I would've liked. Overall i wasnt very impressed but I wish them the best and hope they get staffing right that way it's not just one person running the front. read more

It is a bit hard to find, but I think it is worth the trip. The food is fresh and tasty. It is a family business and has a home-cooked appeal. My friends had the Pho and liked it. I had the summer rolls and chicken with vermicellli noodles. It was delicious. The ambience is cool and the wait staff was kind and cordial. I will surely return. read more

Not good food at all. Accidentally ordered food from this restaurant. I thought I was ordering from the upstairs Charm Thai place and wound up ordering from the basement establishment, which seems to be a spinoff, or possibly open by a disgruntled employee. Ordered several dishes the pho among other things. All of it lacked flavor, and it is a failed attempt at cuisine. I will not make the same mistake again. read more

New-ish restaurant still feeling out it's way and I'm happy to return and try more of the offerings. Simple menu with choice of rolls, pho, vermicelli, and bánh mì. Delicious pho with fresh sprouts hit the spot for the cold evening. The chicken vermicelli was our table's favorite. Pork rolls came out hot and were tasty too. Of note table of ~28 arrived (14/side of a long consolidation of tables) in a few waves and ordered as they came before us and considering that, the few staff did pretty well handling that group and the other tables too. read more

Hard to find restaurant that is worth the trip. I had meatball and rare beef pho....excellent. Service was fantastic. You do walk by other Thai restaurants, but keep walking. Follow signs and enter through a building side door. Thai hot tea was great too. Finding parking is only issue but a quick walk and worth it. Highly recommend! read more

Decided to try What Da Pho today, instead of my usual Downtown Thai. I mean, cool name "What Da Pho", right? More like "what da phuk?" I made a special effort to be clear in my order of "three P7 pho, but please hold the meatballs and could you add a little extra tendon and tripe?" The dish, according to the menu has "raresteak, meatballs, flank, brisket, tendon & tripe." Middle aged male seemed like he understood perfectly and went away. When our food came, I started to eat, but soon began hunting for at least some tendon and tripe. There was none. I had ordered three of the same, and there were none of these components in the others either. Also, and not the issue, but there was only scraps of what appeared to be brisket in the pho, period. I told the man, and after trying to tutor me in what tendon and tripe look like (I have eaten this dish in major cities all over the country for the last 30 years, often as it is one of my favorites), he sent a female out from the kitchen and I told her. She went back and brought a bowl with some tendon only, which she unceremoniously dumped into my bowl. I looked at her and told her the others were the same. This is when she called me a liar to my face by telling me, with an air of excited piss-off-edness, that "it already in there! we already put in there." I said, there's none in there ... zero. After quite a while, she came back with little bowls for the other orders, this time with some tripe as well as tendon in the bowl (still no tripe for me). Clearly, she was pissed bigtime. We finished out meal, wondering to one another whether we were now eating her spit. When I got up to pay the check, I told the male that he had lost a customer and why. His response was seemingly to excuse himself by saying he gave the correct order to the female (ridiculous move, because it certainly appeared that he was an owner). I said that's not really the issue, because what mattered to me was being told flat out that I was imagining the absence of the ingredients (lying). Anyway, I told him he had lost a customer, and he said he would say something to the female. I told him I didn't really care, that it was his business - and I was done. He exited the public area via a door directly to the kitchen and slammed to door so hard i thought it would break the frame - everyone in the restaurant jumped (I later acknowledged the possibility that this was for her, not me ... but still terrible form for a restaurateur). While I was explaining briefly to the startled couple sitting closest to the checkout, the female reappeared and proceeded to tell me she was not a liar, etc. I told her I didn't say she was a liar, but that she had effectively called me a liar. She started going on about how they had been here 40 year, or some such shit (why? I didn't care and this didn't address any issue whatsoever). Maybe they just had a bad day today. A bit hard to find as it's in the basement floor of the liberty plaza building, accessible through the inside or around the building with an exterior facing storefront. I ordered what would be equivalent to a pho dac biet (P7 large), summer rolls, and the pork banh mi. The pho had a great broth with a good spice blend and the rice noodles were the ideal texture, I would have preferred more tendon and tripe but overall very delicious. The summer rolls and the accompanying peanut sauce were spot on, exactly what I would hope for. The pork banh mi was also very delicious with the bread toasted to the right crustiness and fresh seasoned vegetables inside. The interior was well lit and clean and the service still seems to be a work in progress but it was fairly quick to order and receive my dishes on a Monday night with about half the tables occupied. What Da Pho is a great addition to the options in downtown Winston. read more
