    Mee ka thang with seafood
    Malease T.

Very nice clean restaurant! I met a friend here for lunch and we had the loat cha with beef and the mee ka thang with seafood. The loat cha noodles have a nice chew and the shrimp and scallops on with the mee ka thang were perfectly cooked. Both are my favorite Khmer dishes, very delicious!

We were delighted to find this restaurant still open at this hour. We noted that it was nicely decorated and had a peaceful atmosphere as we walked in. When we arrived at 8:30pm we were the only ones eating. It was a perfect time. It's quiet, I can hear the water fountain feature flowing. They have an extensive menu so it took a little time to decide what dish to try. From what I have heard, Malaysian food is primarily all about noodles of all kinds, ramen, Lo mein, udon etc that can come fried, boiled, in pho, Singapore dishes, whole fish dishes and offering your choice of protein in a plethora of sauce choices. I ordered a pretty tasty dish called Malaysian Mee Goreng w beef. It was very delish and had a nice sauce w the customary lo mein style noodles and veggies complimenting the beef and sauce. I did notice it was missing the bean sprouts but the food was still on par otherwise. The 2 men that served and ran the kitchen were quite happy to accommodate us without a rush to get us out the door as it was getting to be close to closing time. We appreciated that. I will be back here again as the meals are priced very reasonably and we are looking forward to another great meal.

I wasn't very hungry when I arrived but everything was so delicious, I was surprised to see every morsel quickly gone! Attentive service, quick kitchen. Gotta come back to try some of the other things on the extensive menu.

Beef Rendang , Kang Kong & Singapore shrimp noodle

Wanted to try the authentic Malaysian cuisine & it was delicious especially the kang kong dish. The Beef Rendang was good too just the portion was little though. The staff was friendly & the owner came out to say Hello to us since it was my first time dining in the restaurant. Love the cozy ambiance. Would definitely be back again to try the curry noodle

My excellent BASS CURRY, her noodles (spicey) Beef.

Such a pleasant experience. Came 1 hour before closing on a Sunday night. We ended up being the only customers at that hour and felt like the place was ours and the staff were so attentive pleasants and great communicators. They explained their options and how they could tailor and they had market price stuff like snapper which could feed four people they say and lobster so they already have plenty of offerings some of it seems to be Chinese also but you can definitely get what you want there. My best Curry dish was reminiscence of Thai food and just hit the spot as Thai food is about my favorite food. Sandy's noodles where similar lo mein but with some kick to it and I would say the taste is addictive. According to Sandy the sake had a little sweetness to it and she enjoyed that difference a lot. Mostly the prices are very reasonable. I will be a repeat customer. Mr Lei was our man, so happy to explain the culture and the dishes. Enthusiastic. And plenty of seating. And round tables can accommodate good amounts of peoples out for fun / communty dinning experiences. And the decor was tasteful.

    Malaysia Lamb Chops

The restaurant is very clean and inviting. Parking is easy. The service was good and fast. The food was interesting. We had the chicken lettuce wrap; it was very good but not enough chicken. I had the lamb chops. They were very good but had too much sauce for me. The chops were unevenly cooked. My wife had the Udon noodles - she thought they were just ok. I will try this place again as I want to encourage local businesses. They have many interesting Asian beers.

18 Malaysia is tucked away in a strip mall off Country Club Road and is a bit of a secret favorite in town. For those looking for Malaysian cuisine, it should be a definite on your list. It's clean, cooked to order and run by a very friendly and helpful manager who is almost always there. Food is flavorful and fresh and tends to be mostly take out but their dining room is also pleasant and accommodating. Might just be your new take out spot!

    Wonton soup. Loved this !!
    Chelsea H.

Very impressed with the cleanliness and decor of the restaurant when I walked in. I loved the wonton soup the most; rich broth and meaty stuffed wonton. I also enjoyed the summer roll; fresh veggies & shrimp in rice paper pared with a great peanut dipping sauce and sweet daikon on the side! It would have been even better if it had more shrimp. Food presentation was 100% !! Portions did seem a little small, but prices were very reasonable. There were only a few people inside, minimal staff, but we were taken care of. I had the feeling the waiter may also be the owner. I am not very familiar with Malaysian cuisine, but the menu had many things I recognized, and many intriguing things I'd like to try. I would describe as Asian fusion, with a lot of noodle options! The only thing that was disappointing was the serving size of chicken and broccoli . There was very little meat. We have ordered this years before and it was much meatier. Also this time it was a little sweeter than average chicken and broccoli, it tasted more like teriyaki to me. I would totally recommend this place! Ive also had the roti with curry, which is a great bread appetizer to try if you've never had it before. The pho was also good! I just need to find something besides chicken and broccoli that's plenty meaty that my husband would like!

8 pieces of fish fillet in black bean sauce, and comparing the size of the fillet to a normal size strawberry.

I think they had changed the menu since my last visit. This time is quite disappointing when we decided to try the take outs of a few dishes from the Malaysian signature menu. Spicy pork foot noodle soup - taste on sweeter side but overall that is the most satisfying dish along with Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce; the pork stomach - not many pork pieces because it was loaded with preserved mustard stem; fish fillet with soy sauce - if it is the price tag that cause us to have 8 small pieces, I am ok that the owner raised the price tag instead of saying this dish is very good. When I asked about it, the owner/chef said they were fish fillet, they were expensive...hmmm, yeah, you are talking with someone that always cooked fish fillet at home and also ordered fish fillet in chili sauce in Winston Salem Asian/Chinese restaurant that can be a few dollars pricier but loaded with fish and cabbage.

    Satay
    Barrie P.

I wanted to update my review since it was pretty old. The owner was handling the front of house alone during lunch when we are there. He was very efficient and our food came out quickly. We tried the satay and pork dumplings to start. The satay is my favorite appetizer and I love the Malaysian style of this dish. The dumplings were fine bit not special like some of the other dishes. They have a great wonton soup. The wontons are homemade and the broth has a great flavor. I had the curry noodle soup. The broth was sweet, rich, and a little spicy. They give you hot sauce to make it hotter but I am a spice wimp. It is served with plenty of meat; I chose the pork which was very good. There were also fried dumplings and an egg. If you are looking for a new cuisine I would highly recommend eating here.

We were out shopping and craving pho when this place popped up and we were both like, "Ohhh yeah!" I'm honestly surprised I don't hear more people talk about this restaurant. It's a small place and it seems like sushi is actually their main focus since it's the first thing on the menu. But we came for the pho and it did not disappoint. The pho was delicious. We asked our server if they had anything spicy besides Sriracha and she brought their chili oil. If you like spicy food, definitely ask for it! It had a nice garlicky flavor, wasn't overly spicy and paired perfectly with the pho. We also tried their version of crab rangoon. We were surprised that the filling was green but it was actually really good! We didn't care for the dipping sauce that came with it though. So far we've only tried the pho but we'd definitely like to come back and try some of their other dishes.

It was my go to when I was pregnant too. They also made traditional boba and sushi! It's a little bit messy in the bathrooms and there's spots that could use a deep scrub especially but that gets a pass because of how hard they work! I ordered my ramen with no egg and spicy and it came with no spice and an egg. Disappointing to say the least because I've heard great things and expected better since in the short period of time we were there, so many people came in to pickup takeout orders. There was 2 pieces of thinly sliced pork in my ramen and it was mostly mushrooms. The broth was super flavorful I just wish I had more spice. We still considered leaving since the only available seating was at two small tables in the aisle but since we were already there, we decided to stay. It was very loud so we couldn't really ask the staff about the dishes. Not knowing what to order, we went with the combo plates. I got the Pork Sisig combo, and my husband ordered the Beef Tapa combo. The food was good overall. The flavors reminded us of a mix of Japanese, Chinese and Korean cuisine which was interesting. My sisig was a bit too salty, though. The only thing we weren't big fans of was the veggie rolls. We're still curious to try some of their other dishes so we'll probably give it another shot.
