The website ordering link says it's paused, so I called ahead on the phone to order takeout. The worker I was speaking to didn't seem to understand when I said repeatedly I don't want jalapenos in it, so I just asked for no peppers instead, and told me it'd be about a 12 minute wait. I would really recommend the restaurant either remove the online ordering link on their website if they're no longer offering it as an option, or if it's just a temporary pause, that they put some sort of explanation about that both on the website and on the Chowbus ordering page. When I arrived, it took 4 mins to pay given unfortunately we had a language barrier in communicating, and the worker took my card out after I tried to explain I needed to insert it because the tap-to-pay feature doesn't work properly on my card. So that was an unexpected stressor since I happened to be on a time crunch with picking up the order before I had to leave. For the sandwich itself, I liked that the tofu itself was juicy and savory and did seem to be flavored (possibly with soy sauce or something simliar). The bread wasn't too hard, but carrots were soft and not as flavored as I would like (some places marinate and pickle them in a way that makes them have a nice acidic kick, but Wha Da Pho did not) and the cucumber probably contributed to it being an unusually wet and soft sandwich on the inside. I tasted a little mayo too, and am not personally a fan of mayo. Solid 3.5 - tried this Vietnamese place and was pleasantly surprised. The chicken pho was decent - had a good amount of moist shredded chicken. The noodles were fatter than usual pho but that is preferred. The soup was NOT too salty and I did not feel super tired afterward - so possibly low on MSG. The bean sprouts were already added under the noodles so you did not have to put them in yourself -which I prefer as well. I would come back to try other noodle soups. We also tried the tofu banh mi. I came by myself on a Saturday afternoon and figured I'd give this restaurant a chance. The store was mostly empty and I ordered through a kiosk. The kiosk ordering threw me off a bit, because the rest of the restaurant isn't self serve -- there are no fountains of water, no general area with utensils/napkins, and nowhere to bus dishes. Given that you can't self serve, the service did not meet my expectations. I wasn't given water until being seated for around 10 minutes, and upon my pho being served, I was only given a soup spoon without napkins or a fork/chopsticks. As for sides, I was given a sad collection of jalapeños and no bean sprouts or mints, which usually comes with pho. The tables had only oyster sauce and sriracha, and there were no sauce bowls. The noodles were also slightly thicker than what I typically get at a pho restaurant. The taste of the pho was good, however, and the pan fried bao were very juicy and full of flavor. I do think the pan fried bao were on the pricey side averaging around $2 per bao, so I most likely won't get it again. The owners aren't Vietnamese (as far as I observed) which may explain the fusion items on the menu as well as the lack of typical items in a Pho restaurant. I probably won't be back, but if you're in a pinch for some pho, this place will scratch the itch. read more

Solid pho spot in the neighborhood and a super short walk from my apartment. The ordering process is automated. You choose what you want on the touch screen menu and pay right there. It's a smaller space but there's plenty of seating. I ordered the beef stew pho. This is one that I have never tried before but I thought "why not" since it was cold and I wanted something extra comforting. I really enjoyed the beef stew pho! It was very flavorful. Everything had great texture - the carrots, the beef, and the noodles. None of that pho got wasted. I also tried the shrimp fried rice. It was pretty good. Once again an Autumn stroll in the Mission District back where it all began for me. Autumn is the restart of Pho season .Back in the neighborhood there were a few places to grab Pho in the Mission . My most common and convenient spot years ago was Sunflower on Valencia and now on 16th street. Over the years there has been a few places in the Mission for Pho and it started to sprout good places like Bac Lieu and Thanh Tam 2 . I went to the new to me spot on 22nd street between Mission and Bartlett which had the same question I had when I looked at their menu " Wha Da Pho"? The menu at Wha Da Pho has both Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. I was looking for the more traditional thinner noodles for my Pho Ga and Wha Da Pho didn't have them. They only had the thicker noodles , so I went into the Chinese menu and asked for an egg noodle for my Pho Ga ( trying an experiment). A pleasant surprise the Pho Ga with the egg noodles combination actually was tasty and slurp worthy. The chicken was soft and broth had good flavor. It's good to have a place where you can have both a Beef stew , Chicken Pho and Shrimp Dumpling at Wa da Pho in SF. Please use non msg broth, there are many vegetarian options for healthier broths. For this time of day the restaurant offers a discount; Half price. That's a good deal. Except, when it came to paying for my discount pho. The discounted price appeared on the display and it was then changed by the server to the full price. I enquired why it changed to the full price and the sever told me the the discount price was a mistake. I had the sense forethought to take a screenshot of the discount offered at the time I placed my order and showed it to the server. The server, knowing that he'd been caught lying, glumly corrected the total without offering an apology. My guess is that that the server thought a tourist wouldn't question his deception. Tasty food, great service and outstanding new look! Really close to 24th Mission Bart station, which is walking distance friendly from this place! We were a group of 10 people, and they were very accommodating. It's an intimate space, with a really modern look with neon lights and home-type feel. Upon entry they have a touchscreen (order and pay) machine which is cool if you are on-the-go. Once we were seated, we had fresh hot tea, and I really enjoyed their new plating. Since we were a big group we ordered a lot of nibbles. The pot stickers, tempura and dumplings were tasty, but my favorites were the spring rolls, crab cake and bao buns. Their ingredients are fresh and taste really well together! I liked the crispy bottoms of the bao buns as it provided enhanced texture. The star of the show for me personally was the rib-eye pho! Per recommendation of the server, they worked really hard to enhance their flavors, and they definitely came through! Broth was rich and noodles were fresh. Wow, this place has misleading and has possibly fake reviews. It is some of the most flavorless and sad looking pho, when you enter (freezing cold restaurant where the only worker behind the counter is wearing a puffer jacket), there is a kiosk to your left that you can order from (so many red flags). You can also order from a QR code at your table, The site has some pho and other dishes that are Chinese or Pho like. We ordered a combo beef pho and my husband tried the chicken chow mien to see if one would be better. They both were mediocre and bland. The pho came out with some jalapeño slices and a piece of lime on the side. The soup was bland, the extra such as cilantro and Thai basil were already in the soup, it felt like a generic vending machine entree with no pizzazz. The chow mien was nasty, cold and really just tasteless. I like to try new places but this is misleading with their high ratings. We were offered some cold or hot water, there was no tea available, it was a pint glass of either hot or cold water. I am a little speechless at the generic quality of the food and restaurant.
