I asked them if they tested it to verify it worked, they said they didn't but they were sure it was OK. The next day I turned it on it had very low pressure then it overheated and shut down. I called but they said they were 'booked' and couldnt come back until sometime the next week. Of course couldn't use the pool the entire 4th weekend.

More importantly, last year I noticed my liner slipping in one spot on a Friday afternoon. I called to let them know about the issue and assumed they would be out the following week. The other job was a deck refresh from wood to composite. He showed up to do the job not knowing how. He apologized, said he didn't want to disappoint me, and called his father, a retired contractor over to help. His father spent weeks on what should have been a few day project. Turns out, he'd never did this particular type of job either. I never asked this contractor for references because he'd been my trusted pool guy for a while. I highly recommend asking for referrals whether or not you have a relationship with that individual. You may well be the next guinea pig. Fake it til you make it is what they call this maneuver.

I "fixed" it each year with globs of "underwater epoxies, silicon, etc." but this year I lost about 3/4" per day and try as I may could not find any additional leaks. It was time to bring in the pros Samantha and her husband Ed. The pool was thoroughly investigated via sonar and dye testing and they found the culprit-my other pool light!! Ed repaired it as well as my other messy pool light fix with a neat and patient application of a special epoxy. I performed the bucket test again and my leak is gone! I highly recommend Pool Patcher for solving my multi year pool headache and I'm not worried about losing any more water or pool chemicals thanks to them.

Our filter was serviced - exterior of filter is now leaking (Service call 1) Above ground pool line was leaking a couple days after the internal filter replacement. (Service call 2, chalked it up to coincidence) I patched temporarily with epoxy putty until their technician could service this past Tuesday. Technician repaired the line while we were away on vacation. Returned from vacation to an algae bloom in our pool - looks like the valve from the chlorinator was off I opened the closed valve and water began to gush out of the bottom of our Hayward CL200 chlorinator. (This is not a coincidence as this issue did not exist before the prior repairs. This was clearly damaged during the last service.) Repaired water line was also installed on top of the electrical line leading to our heater. Not ideal. Still waiting for a return call a day later after emailing and calling. Still no reply and pool is not functioning.

It is the gold standard, IMHO, as someone who has worked at farms and greenhouses over the course of decades, these are the people from whom I have sought counsel the most when. In New Jersey. Their plants are beautiful and healthy, and suited to local conditions because they are greenhosed on site by an expert horticulturist. The 'book learning' aspect of the son, Alan, is beautifully balanced by the depth and breadth of knowledge from Don himself, a local farmers with hands on experience and an ear to the ground, full of local lore.
