I asked them if they tested it to verify it worked, they said they didn't but they were sure it was OK. The next day I turned it on it had very low pressure then it overheated and shut down. I called but they said they were 'booked' and couldnt come back until sometime the next week. Of course couldn't use the pool the entire 4th weekend.

Do I have to raise PH or lower it. There's a bottle of something or other behind the skimmers that promises to stabilize the chlorine. I wish that I could be that stable. Life was far less complicated when all you had to worry about was acid rain. They have chemicals for whatever ails your cement pond, all at prices that make Big Pharma look like a charity. Crap, the rivet on my vacuum head just went bad, that's another Benjamin. Maybe I should just strangle myself with those nifty pool noodles... bad idea, their floating casket is a grand. Seriously, they are nothing but helpful and much better than a roulette wheel at diagnosing your murky pool water. And let's hear it for convenience, there's a for-profit blood plasma donation center right next door (seriously) if their prices leave you a little short. Maybe I should put the floating casket on layaway, just in case.

My experience with Custom Pool Bros was extremely disappointing and stressful. Their pricing…read moreappears low upfront, but once you sign, they hit you with constant change orders that dramatically increase the final cost. Here's how their process works: At the beginning, you deal with a salesperson who is very sweet, agreeable, and promises everything. Once you agree, they send you a 5-6 page contract that is poorly written and very hard to understand. After signing and paying a large deposit, you are handed off to accounting--who seems to have no idea what the salesperson promised. That's when the problems begin. They start issuing change orders for items that should have been anticipated: Claiming the grade is higher than shown on plans, resulting in a change order of thousands of dollars Charging thousands more for dewatering Equipment location scam: My equipment was planned and bid to be about 30 feet from the pool, which was clearly part of the original scope. After signing, Tom (the owner) suddenly stated equipment is only allowed 10 feet from the pool and demanded $100 per linear foot to extend it. This was never clearly disclosed upfront. Tom, the owner, is rude, arrogant, and unprofessional, especially once you're under contract and financially committed. On top of all this, the project was completed 4 months later than the contract deadline. Final Advice If you choose to work with them: Get EVERY detail in writing Clarify equipment distances Confirm grading assumptions Ask about dewatering costs Have a lawyer review the contract Otherwise, be prepared to pay far more than the original price. What looks like a "good deal" upfront can easily turn into paying nearly double by the end. I would not recommend this company.

After buying a house with a 20 year old pool, I had to replace the liner, filter, motor, and heater. TBC did every job excellently. More importantly, last year I noticed my liner slipping in one spot on a Friday afternoon. I called to let them know about the issue and assumed they would be out the following week. Imagine my shock when a TBC pool van pulled into my driveway at 7pm the same day to correct the issue. Best pool company ever!!!!

He acid washed my pebble plaster pool, my beloved sanctuary, and destroyed it. I'm out $20K now which I don't have and won't have. The pool looks like it has a disease, it's unsightly and dangerous. Cut my finger open on the sharp pebbles last season. The other job was a deck refresh from wood to composite. He showed up to do the job not knowing how. He apologized, said he didn't want to disappoint me, and called his father, a retired contractor over to help. His father spent weeks on what should have been a few day project. Turns out, he'd never did this particular type of job either. I never asked this contractor for references because he'd been my trusted pool guy for a while. I highly recommend asking for referrals whether or not you have a relationship with that individual. You may well be the next guinea pig. Fake it til you make it is what they call this maneuver.
