I've had a slow pool leak for about 3 years originating from 1 of my 2 pool lights. I became an expert with the simple pool "bucket test" to track my water loss over the years. I "fixed" it each year with globs of "underwater epoxies, silicon, etc." but this year I lost about 3/4" per day and try as I may could not find any additional leaks. It was time to bring in the pros Samantha and her husband Ed. The pool was thoroughly investigated via sonar and dye testing and they found the culprit-my other pool light!! Ed repaired it as well as my other messy pool light fix with a neat and patient application of a special epoxy. I performed the bucket test again and my leak is gone! I did not want to select a rating, I just wanted to relate my experience with potential customers of PoolPatcher and let them decide but have to in order to post. I spoke to Ed on the phone about my leak, how the water goes down to a certain level ( at the skimmer) and stays there whether or not I run the filter. He replied he has the abilities and equipment to find the leak and repair it. Cost would be $500+ to detect and another $200+ to repair. Expensive but to have it resolved I agreed. Well they just left my residence a few minuets ago with a personal check for $846 and NO RESOLUTION for the leak. Here is what transpired, Ed made two visits to the pool. First one was unsuccessful in finding the leak after about an hour and a half attempt. He asked me to fill the pool higher so as to increase the water pressure in the pool and he would be back the following day, which I did. After about two hours on his return visit he informed me the leak was in my skimmer and it was beyond his abilities to repair but would put me in contact with another party. I got out my check book and was prepared to fill in a $500+ amount when I got hit with $846! I put up a mild argument to no avail. Just a lot of self righteousness from his associate about how happy all their other customers are and how I got the best price. read more

I can't say how the service is with this company because they never made it here due to their incompetency. I had an appointment scheduled and they claimed it wasn't confirmed which was but they never showed up. It's a shame if you have to call companies 100 times just to be sure they're coming to your house. Apparently the woman Sam that works there is very confused. I suggest if you do use these people you better call them over and over and over to be sure they understand where and when they're supposed to show up versus blowing you off like they did to us. My good money will go elsewhere. read more

If you have an above ground pool and live anywhere other than Monmouth County, don't call this company. Even though the website states they service above ground pools in several counties, the owner replied to my request for a quote stating otherwise. This was his response: "Hello, we rarely do leak detection on above ground pools because the price of the leak detection and repairs exceed the price of a new liner for an above ground pool. What town are you looking for service in ? As of this part of the season we can not travel out of Monmouth county." This, after his employee told me to send pics of the pool and she would get back to me (she didn't). She also told me to fill it with water since they test electronically. After two days of waiting, I filled out the online quote request to get his response. Had she told me two days prior, I wouldn't have wasted my time taking pictures or my water. read more

I hired NJ Pool Patcher due to their experience in pool leak detection. We had significant water loss when our Polaris pool cleaner kicked on. We wanted to be sure no other areas were effected.
