So here is the deal. First off I am not a repair person so when it comes to spas. I know enough to stay in my lane and call a professional. I finally did. I gotta say I was pissed off prior to contacting the the Pool & Spa Doctor in Wall Township. If you were in my shoes you would be too. Let me explain. I own an Artesian Piper Glen Spa that I purchased 15 yrs ago and the spa is amazing. My entire family love spending time in the spa and I do believe that I have gotten my money's worth out of it. With that being said I am not ready to get rid of it or get a new one. In Late 2019 my heater died and I had to drain my tub for the winter. Needless to say I was not happy. Then Covid hits and everything goes to SH*T! I was not able to get a replacement heating unit until mid summer. I know right. WTF?!?! Anyway I was able to replace the heater without destroying the Spa or burning down my house. Major accomplishment. On top of that It worked! NICE. So for July through Sept. I had a working spa. Yeah. Then it stopped heating. I was getting those 3 stupid dots telling me that the flow is not adequate. I checked to confirm there is no air in the lines. I checked the fuses. I checked the circulation pump. Everything is working like it should. So I am at my wits end. I reached out to the folks at the Pool & Spa Doctor in Wall Township. I spoke with Scott. First off he talked me of the ledge. He was patient and took time to listen to the issue that I was having. He not only offered me tips and suggestions on fixing the issue but suggested another integrator that was closer to my area that can assist with my issue. Who the hell does that? Giving business to another company because you concern yourself with what the client needs and not your bottom line. I am thoroughly BLOWN AWAY!!!!! I may not have transacted a repair job with the Pool & Spa Doctor but I will and do definitely recommend them. There business practices are second to none!!! Scott your a hell of guy. The pool and spa doctor is on life support. At one time, these guys were the best in the area. This gave them false confidence. They don't need your business. They will only speak to you via email now. Even then, they don't get back to you. We had a big problem with our pool, which had been service by them in the past. We were existing customers. Despite multiple emails and phone calls, no one got back to us. Three months later, they finally sent us estimate. Thanks but no thanks. When we needed them, they didn't deliver. Don't let these people waste your time. We ended up with Midstate Pool Liners. They were outstanding! read more

This place is outstanding when it comes to anything pool related. The staff in the store and the pool crews on the road can answer and fix most any issue. I had a heater issue as well as an electrical issue and in short order it was diagnosed and fixed the first time. Service couldn't be any better. read more

First time homeowner with a pool and this year was the first time I decided I would take care of the pool myself-I have the time and thought ok-I can probably handle it. I made weekly visits to this place with water samples, always greeted by name and now that the pool is covered I miss going there weekly as part of my pool tasks! I needed warranty work on a pool cleaner. The manufacturer gave me two choices ship it back to them or drop it off locally. I called PSD to arrange to drop it off. When I pulled in two employees can right out to help carry the unit. Wow first class service. Was told I was lucky as they were not that busy yet as it was early in season for repairs. After 10 days and hearing nothing back I called. I was told Scott was the repair person and would call me back that afternoon. The following day I called again but this time I spoke to Scott. He hadn't had time to look at the unit yet as they take the customers who buy directly from them first. But said he would have time to check it out later that day. Two days later when I called was told the part that is broken is not a warranty item and not sure when he could get to it once the parts came as our customers come first. I do understand that to a point you are a GOLD Service Center for Maytronics. You had a perfect opportunity to repair the unit, charge for the repair assuming it was not covered under warranty and make a customer. Instead you complained that the unit was bought on line. These cleaners have a fairly short life span. I understood that when I made the purchase. Do you think I would consider going back after horrible customer service. In the end I took the It back with me and will deal with manufacturer. The two stars are strictly for the guys who helped carry it in and offered the same on the way out. read more

We had our pool installed over a year ago by Pool and Spa Doctor, and everyone knows they can be a lot of work. My husband started experiencing some issues with our pool this year - trouble keeping it clean, debris appearing almost immediately after cleaning, etc. He was extremely frustrated so he reached out to Scott. Scott took customer service to the next level - offering us a dolphin on loaner to clean the pool, responding to several calls and visits from my husband, and troubleshooting - all the while, never trying to sell us anything in the process. Ultimately, Scott figured it out and it ended up being an easy fix. We can't thank Scott enough for being patient, helpful, and understanding...all with a smile on his face. I recently went to Pool and Spa Doctor to share pictures of an issue I have with my pool liner. This GLI liner was sold and installed by the folks at this business. At the time of purchase just three years ago, it was recommended by these folks to spend an additional $420.00 to upgrade my purchase to a heavier, thicker grade of liner material, which I did. After showing and sending the pictures to the company representatives, I was informed by them that they would forward these pictures and the matter over to their liner representative and they would handle the matter. I expected this person to at a minimum have contacted me for some additional information and/or more pictures of the liner issue, or to have actually come out to visually inspect the damaged liner, but neither happened. I contacted the folks at Pool and Spa Doctor after an additional week or so and was at that point told that the determination was that the damage to my liner was due to abuse on my part. I strongly disagreed with their opinion and told the company representative that it was definitely a manufacturing defect and absolutely not abuse on my part! I also stated that they sold me this particular manufacturer (GLI) liner and that they should stand behind the products they market and install. Needless to say, my conversation and level of disappointment with these folks and the quality of the GLI liner is disheartening! The best part of this is that yes the liner is under warranty, however it's not covered due to them deciding it was abuse that caused the issue. read more

Insulting your clients is bad business. When you make a mistake, and cause damage to your client's pool, you should not blame your client. Or even worse, call them "not smart". You should work a resolution and move on. Within 2 days, Pool and Spa Doctor have (1) overcharged for their work, (2) broken parts of our pool, and (3) insulted us for asking them, politely, to fix their mistake. As a result, we are unsatisfied, and going to another company. I recommend that you look elsewhere for services. The owner said that he doesn't give two ***** about bad Yelp reviews. We are very excited about our new pool and filtration system and heater systems for the coming season. We worked with the folks at Pool & Spa Doctor to modernize our pool and backyard using the existing space to create a backyard sanctuary to our specifications. The P&S Doctor folks coordinated with other quality vendors to make the whole project work for us at a fair price. The other positive is that, as anyone who tries to update an old building or space, things will go wrong; it was great to have a local firm handle the project because when things needed slight revisions or adjustments, the P&S Doctor owners and management were accessible and responsible throughout the process. We worked shoulder to shoulder with this company for a number of years and followed any and all suggestions to have a pool that functioned at optimal performance. I have over 20 years experience as a systems engineer working at major telcos and banks throughout North America. Also over 10 years with the US Army. My wife was raised working around family owned farms in the South and knows how to get around machinery of all kinds. Now for what is so surprising ... why all of a sudden when the owner gets involved do things go bad so fast? What a joke of a service company. Firstly, they went in my backyard without coming to the door. They were not expected till later in the week. They said they were in the neighborhood and popped in. Ok I guess but then they took my spare pool parts and left not fixing the heater with no notice or knock on the door. I called and they said since I jumped the heater last year they won't fix the heater. I know it is not smart to do this but if they fixed it, like they said that would, it is a mute point. Do yourself a favor and go with one of the other 100 pool service companies in the area. read more

I recently purchased a home that has an inground pool that these guys installed for the previous owner way back in 2004. This is my first foray into pool ownership so I had heard the horror stories of all of the costs involved. Once the pool was opened for the season we noticed the heater was not functioning properly so I stopped in to schedule a service call thinking "uh-oh this is gonna hurt" ... instead the owner provided me with helpful information an a repair I could do myself (clean out the spider webs) so I did, and low and behold it worked! About a month later I noticed I was having an issue again but the cleaning wasn't working this time ... so off I went again expecting an "Uh-oh" to which when I went to schedule another service call I was told it could just be that I needed a new filter, once again they had the opportunity to set and charged me for an unnecessary service call for a simple fix. To their credit they sent me on my way with my new filter in hand...problem solved. I would certainly recommend them to anyone needing pool service or supplies. read more

Five stars plus for Pool and Spa Dr. I am a new home owner and first time pool owner. The previous owner hadn't opened the pool in about 5 years. I called 4 Monmouth area pool pros and after recommendations from neighbors and my contractor, hired Phil and team. They were able to get my completely filthy, green pool opened quickly and at a far lower cost then others. I had another company suggest that I needed to drain the pool and replace the liner, without even looking at the pool. Phil came over and personally inspected the pool and equipment and had my pool open, clear and converted to a salt system quickly and at a fair price. The entire team, including Maggie and Scott are true professionals that take the time to explain everything without selling me things that I don't need. I also purchased a Volt cleaner which stopped working after 3 weeks. I brought it back to PSD and they checked it out, realized it was defective and gave me a new one, handling the warranty with the supplier in my behalf. If you live in the Monmouth County area, do not go anywhere else, and do not believe the negative reviews shown below, simply not true. read more

For many years we use Pool and Spa Doctor to open and service our pool. This year the owner, Phil, was in a hurry to complete installation of a pool liner for another customer and for the $500 pool opening charge we were left with a incomplete job. We called the following dayfor help in setting our own pool pump settings and never received a return call. Four days later after calling again we were asked to send a photo of the skimmer setting. The skimmer basket had broken due to the power of the filter left on only skimmer. We simply asked for a replacement basket due to their failure to complete service. Phil advised us in no uncertain terms that he had no intention of correcting the problem. It is unfortunate that customer service is unimportant to this company. We will find a new provider, you should too. read more

Terrible neighbors! I've called several times to ask that their speeding dump trucks and fleet of other large trucks with trailers stop using our 25 mph residential street as a cut-through multiple times a day, and the woman who answers the phone has been rude and unhelpful in response every time. Yet they have these grand philosophical sayings on their sign out front about treating people with respect and doing the right thing to others. If you have young kids, as I do, you don't want them in your neighborhood. read more

Run away as fast and as far as you can from these guys!!!! There are too many other pool places on the Jersey Shore to be abused by this company. Unprofessional, dishonest, rude, arrogant, disrespectful, condescending and demeaning. Installation office staff is deceitful, they use pressure tactics, and try and force you to pay cash. Took day off of work for an appt. we scheduled with them and they did not show or call. I agree with other review "what a joke of a service company". They show up when they want to with no appt. Hope you don't expect them to return for any issues after they have been paid either, they are all about the money and have no interest in keeping you as a return customer. They are not the only show in town and they bad mouth other pool service companies. Embarrassing and unpleasant experience and I warn people to stay away from this installation company. We will filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce. read more
