Had the best facial of my entire life done by Crystal! She was super informative and did a thorough job.

I found Tao through Classpass, and so happy I did! I have a lot of Classpass points to use up before the end of my current cycle, and thought I'd use it on a massage! My boyfriend and I came here for 30-minute massages yesterday, and we both had a wonderful 5 star experience from Yves! He was so sweet & welcoming, and fulfilling to our needs (we both have issues with neck, shoulders, and lower-back). We will be returning customers, and maybe try the sauna or float experience next time, too. And thank-you to the owner, Vivian for being accommodating on the phone when I inquired about my appointment ahead of time. You guys are great! read more

I had a terrific deep tissue massage with Amy today! I highly recommend her, and the Tao Massage spa has a great and relaxing vibe.

These ladies never fail me! Their approach to skin care is second-to-none and worth every penny, and they offer many promotions as well that are thoughtful and well worth taking advantage of. What's more? They are conversant and knowledgeable about what they do, and help you know how to best care for your skin between sessions. I have absolutely no idea what Kate F. is talking about in her review. The vibe is relaxing, warm and welcoming at Tao. As a repeat customer, I am shocked by the sheer inaccuracy of her review. I advise ignoring it. Kimmie is wonderful, and so is Amber - my skin is positively glowing after just seeing her for a microdermabrasion - but you can't go wrong with anyone among their staff. Vivian, the owner, is congenial and lovely. You won't regret it. Even if you're not a local - I am not - Tao is worth the trip to Asbury Park. read more

I always go out of my way to stop here for a massage and a float if at all possible when I am in the area. I have had hundreds of massages over the years at many, many establishments(including places like Hawaii and large elaborate spas), and Tao is my favorite, hands down. The staff are all so incredibly welcoming and talented. I've never had a bad experience here. The facilities are impeccably clean and comfortable. I love coming here, and look forward to unwinding whenever I step in the door. read more

I had a great 1 hour massage at Tao with Karla. The ambience is very relaxing and service is top notch. Will definitely be back!

Candice did a fantastic job at my ashiastu massage, she applied form pressure and her transitions from one movement to the next were excellent. Everything was very sanitary here and very professional. I plan to come back. Only knock I could find would be the cost as it's 110+ for a 1 hour massage. If you have the money though you will not be disappointed. read more

Very professional with excellent service. Highly recommended. Therapeutic and relaxing.

All I can say is the smell of massage oils reminded me of a place where there are "happy endings" and the dark rooms really made it really creepy. The vibe was nasty and I couldn't wait for the foot massage to be over. Talk about tension!!!! read more

BEST Deep tissue massage by Charlotte. Customized for my fragile neck issues - I feel fantastic!

Very nice massage place, that also has a sensory deprivation float tank. Friendly nice service. Very calming atmosphere. Wifey loved her massage. I did the float tank, it was a cool experience. Very relaxing. Like floating in outer space. It was surprisingly un-claustrophobic, the water has extra buoyancy because of the super saturation of Epsom salts. they have a little light in there, when you close the hatch, the light is on, and you can reach up and turn it out. The neck pillow was helpful. My one gripe is that the liquids in the the shower afterwards were not labeled, so I didn't know what was soap, conditioner, or body wash. Please put labels on the soaps. read more

When I saw the reviews for this place as well as the location I figured it was pricey. Wrong! prices were in line with any other spa yet the service was that of some super expensive spa resort or something. We had an appointment for a couples massage at 3:45. I got a call about 3 from the nicest woman apologizing that the couple before us showed up late and they were running behind. 15 mins big deal but we sure appreciated the heads up. Umberto and Andres did an amazing job, we each had a little meeting before starting so they could make sure to customize the massage for us. There is a 100% chance we will be back. read more

Umberto Taormina is an amazing healer. I'm sitting in the reception area after my session, waiting for my wife who is having a massage now with Umberto. I realize I need massage therapy much more often...and only wish I lived closer! That being said, TY Umberto for being a conduit for healing. You're very talented and your ability to connect with the pain source is on point, literally. Thank you again, Keith Rennar Brennan read more

I have been going to Tao Massage for about 7 years. I've had massages by Vivian and more recently, Candice. Vivian is phenomenal!!!! She is kind, caring, sweet, warm, and very skilled. I've had many massages from Vivian (Ashiatsu) and she is incredible, to say the very least!!! I have had 2 massages from Candice (one Ashiatsu and one DEEP Intense Relief Therapy). Candice is wonderful!!! I had a very relaxing, enjoyable experience. She's a very nice and pleasant person and makes you feel very comfortable. She is passionate about her profession and cares about personalizing the experience of each of her clients. read more

There are not enough stars available to click. I am one of those massage snobs..somewhat high maintenance, I know what I want and it's hard to find. Vivian is a magical massage Goddess. Highly skilled, attuned, attentive. Every moment of my massage was meaningful and spot on. So grateful I had time to fit in a massage while visiting family at the shore. Highly recommended. Vivian is so very talented and can only imagine birds of a feather flock together when it comes to the other therapists/services provided. read more

Tao was phenomenal! I had the best massage that I have ever had with April. The customer service was great, and Vivian worked hard on getting our group in on the same day. What else can I say except you MUST TRY THIS PLACE! You will love it! read more

Enjoyed cupping with deep ashiatsu with Vivian. Have felt so relaxed ever since and my flexibility has improved. Highly recommend this business if you're looking for an amazing and relaxing experience. I want to try the floating next. Location is convenient and it feels like walking into an oasis in Asbury Park. read more

Just had what will be my first massage at Tao with therapist, Heather. She is excellent and a very gifted practitioner. As far as the facility, Tao is massage spa with other amenities: a flotation room, saunas, shower, and an extensive array of natural, healthy products. Will definitely be back! read more

The Ashiatsu deep massage with Vivian is the best massage I've ever had. It was amazing .

Tao Massage was where I got my first ever massage, and I don't think I'll go anywhere else. Candice is great. I go about 1x - 2x a month and I've never been disappointed. I'm also surprised that I pretty much always find a parking spot within a block or 2. : ) read more

Absolutely amazing massage by Andreas this evening, just as fantastic as the last experience. Relaxing, rejuvenating and tailored to one's personal needs as soon as you walk in the door. Tao is certainly a gem, and welcoming hideaway, in the ever growing town of AP. Excellent customer service. Thank you. read more

Had my prenatal massage today with Melissa and it was lovely! I've had massages at other facilities, but this was my first prenatal one. I am definitely feeling relaxed! read more

Their customer service rocks! Brought my boyfriend here for the tank and a couples massage. Everything was perfect and they accommodated us even though I was late and missed my reflexology appointment. They moved it around to after our couples massage (while bc was in tank) so I could still have it. Boyfriend felt like a million bucks after everything. Said the massage was wonderful but the tank really helped him decompress. read more

After many months of intense training, muscles get tight. Apparently I'd rather get walked on than use a foam roller. Vivian went above and beyond making me feel like a valued customer. Kind and thoughtful, I was impressed with Vivian's pre-appointment contact and follow-up note after my visit. A phone consult describing Ashiatsu massage, a new experience for me, and providing options for which products would be used during the massage instilled confidence I had chosen the right place. She showed an exemplary level of professionalism, care, and attention to detail. The massage itself was great - 10/10, would get heeled again. If you're the type who has taken an elbow to your obstinate knots and felt like more pressure would be euphoric, the Ashi fulfilled that wish for me. That's not to say I would call the IT band manipulation the most pleasant experience I've ever had on the table, but I keep my expectations realistic when a therapist is digging through stubborn tissue: love-hate. Even so, any discomfort was soon forgotten because Vivian was receptive to feedback and a skilled conversationalist. (I recently bought one of the books she talked up during the session for summer reading.) It's one thing to leave a review after your first appointment. It's another to go once and make the place your go-to for all future pampering - TaoMassage has become that place for my massage needs. Thanks! read more

Just had the most amazing massage.. For those of you who haven't been to Tao, it's a must.. Place is beautiful, clean and staff is professional.. I had Vivian for a massage, but I'm sure, everyone there would be great! Oh and they have flotation tanks :) read more

I love coming to Asbury Park/Ocean Grove, for the beach, the charming neighborhood and also for massages at Tao. Very zen location with highly skilled professionals! read more

I first reviewed Tao Massage nearly two years ago (June 2015) and gave the place 5 out of 5 stars after my first visit ... I'm updating now February 2017 because I want to give this place a TEN out of 5 stars if I could! I have been visiting regularly for almost two years now and the atmosphere, customer service, and service in general is consistently phenomenal. Vivian's friendliness and true passion for her craft and business is something to model, and thank you to Melissa for your awesome massages which are always professionally custom targetted and personalized whether I'm training for a race or just want to relax and keep sane in this crazy world. read more

Tao is an oasis in this hectic world. I've been twice (once for the float tank and again for the tuning fork therapy). Both sessions were heavenly. I'd gladly go as often as possible if I lived in the area. The staff is wonderful. Their customer service, before I ever stepped through the door, was too notch. I would recommend them to anyone interested in total relaxation and pampering. I will be back for special visits! read more

TaoMassage - Float tank / sensory deprivation - Massage Near Me - Asbury Park, New Jersey

I picked this location solely on Yelp reviews and I was not disappointed! We had an appointment for a couples massage, my boyfriend loves his as did I. Umberto was FANTASTIC. He took time to speak with me about my concerns beforehand and he gave me the most in depth and restorative massage I've ever had. I have chronic back pain and tightness from my years of doing Aerial Silks and he worked on muscles I didn't even realize needed attention. Also, the customer service is on point. Vivian is so kind; she gave us a tour of the space before, offered water and snacks, and gave us comfy shoes to wear around the spa. Definitely will be back! read more

I'm sitting in my car right after I just experienced something out of this world. I use to go to hand and stone for my monthly massage years ago but this massage from Kayla Moved moons in my body ! Literally. Thank you! Already booked my next massage in two weeks. read more

First time float was better than amazing!!! I definitely recommend more than 60 minutes. As a first timer the staff was extremely helpful and insightful. I wish I lived closer to go more often but I will try to arrange a trip soon and make sure to book my appointment. Amazing staff, service, and an impeccable clean ambiance at a fair price. What more can one ask for? Such a lovely experience and necessary treat! read more

Tao is the real deal. I've been several times for massages and to relax in the float tank and have always been blown away. Most recently, Vivian arranged spa services for my wedding weekend at the incredible Asbury Park Inn. Umberto came to the Inn and provided half hour massages (which were probably more like 45 minutes) to each member of my wedding party. We sat around in luxurious Tao robes and drank mimosas, and the look of blissed-out relaxation on each person's face as they returned to the group was priceless. I can't thank the Tao staff enough and I'm counting the days until my next visit! read more

Run do not walk to TAO! Melissa is awesome. I always love getting a massage but Melissa's techniques are truly special.

Amazing place!! Fantastic massages but just as many additional community offerings. Do yourself a favor, book a massage and sign-up for their mailing list. You certainly won't regret the great savings and opportunities for special events all year round. read more

Beautiful experience at Tao spa in Asbury Park. I started with the Float bath which was wonderfully relaxing and healing and then I had an incredible one hour massage. I can't remember the name of it but it is the one where the therapist uses her feet. I will definitly have this again. The spa is beautifully designed and has a wonderful energy. Prices were very reasonable and I'm so happy I took the time to treat myself. read more

I get a lot of massages after fitness related strains and this was the first time I walked out of a massage and had the ailment actually gone away almost instantly! I will definitely be back! Vivian was awesome! read more

Having received well over 200 massages on 5 continents, I consider myself a bit of a massage connoisseur. I booked the 60 min float/60 min massage package at Tao, and highly recommend it. The float was a unique experience--trippy and incredibly relaxing/rejuvenating once I actually relax--but the massage from Andreas was, well, review-worthy. Andreas is unequivocally the real deal, and I'm now a regular customer of his. He's fluent in so many different styles and, for lack of a better word, experiences. As an example, he gave me (the hard-nosed critic) and my roommate (a massage virgin) completely different but equally relaxing and productive sessions. Mine involved more neuromuscular and targeted therapeutic stuff, and her's was more of an introductory, all-over situation. He's a very chill, normal guy, and I think he could make anyone feel comfortable (as opposed to awkward) on the table. Impeccable massage. FIVE STARS. read more

Float was great. Still walking on air from it. Roseanne gives a great mindful ashiatsu massage. When floating don't use the neck roll n def wear the earplugs. Worth the 1 1/2 hour drive n I can't wait to try the cupping. read more

From the moment that you walk into Tao you are immersed in warm and soothing energy. Such a welcoming space and staff! My experience in the FLOAT Tank was transcendent. One of the best Ashiatsu massages I've ever received. From start to finish the entire experience was immensely relaxing and wonderful. The entire staff from owner Vivian and therapist Roseanne to the reception staff were both professional and friendly. And to top it all off it is incredibly reasonable too! Cannot recommend this place enough...you have to become a regular immediately!!! read more

This is a fantastic place with great massage therapists. Clean facilities, natural products used, super nice and accommodating staff. Just as good as any massage I have had in New York City at almost half the price. Would highly recommend RoseAnne or Umberto! read more
