Lol@Kay D. Hard to believe you had such a bad experience. I hired Gorlin pools for an inspection so that I could move forward on purchasing my home. I didn't realize it's a common practice for someone to hire there own inspector to sale their homes. Any ways there were several repairs needed on the patio and plaster finish of the pool. Also on my automation system. Cory advised me to ask about having the seller at the time knock some of the prices off the cost of the home. After purchasing my new home I had a few other companies provide me with estimates . I can admit Cory's prices where slightly higher then a couple but not all. Two of them were out of Princeton and I can say there prices were nearly the same as Gorlin's but they seemed uneducated on my issues and more like scam artist. I think the same guy you speak of came out for sure because He suggested a diver to do the same polish finish and i proceeded except he was trying to charge me over $1,000. The diver wasn't even able to smooth the surface out and suggest I re-plaster. Another company from Monmouth county that had no experience in masonry and patio repairs. So for the same prices I took my chances with Gorlin and never looked back to those "well known Princeton pool guys." Corey is full of knowledge and very responsible. Quick and responsive. Every time I called he'd answer even late into the evening. I had to call him over the winter to repair my automation that's connected to my landscape lights and he responded quickly. That's the difference, night and day with higher end companies. You should have Gorlin due a follow up and make sure no scam artist got you for your money. If not Gorlin perhaps a more reputable company some one who isn't just known in one specific area but all over The state of New Jersey. read more

I bought a short sale home with a pool, what a nightmare. This company was referred to me by someone I really trust, so I called them, and the guy who answered the phone would not give me any real pricing. That was the first problem. They claimed that they needed to see my pool first. Corey shows up in this huge truck and knocks on my door and hands me a folder and tells me to read the papers inside of it. All I wanted was a price not a book report. I leave the guy alone for about 30 minutes. Finally I walk out there and ask him what he's doing. He said he was re-measuring everything for a quote in the future. I had 3 different quotes to re-finish the pool, so I just wanted to see if his price was better, forget all the song and dance. He told me the pool didn't need plaster, that his company actually plastered it 9 years ago, but the measurements on file seemed wrong. They knew the pool well, but had not been back to the house for 5 years. He explained that the previous owner had spared no expense while they worked on the pool. The pool was green and you couldn't see a thing so I had a hard time believing him. He ended up bringing in a specialist from out of state to polish the entire surface, and clean it up. Corey hooked me up directly with them so I saved a few thousand bucks. Corey was on site the entire day, and the pool looks brand new now. Only problem now is it's still freezing. read more

Good day, I would like to share our experience with Gorlin Pools. We were in the process of selling our home and found that we needed to acquire a pool inspection report for any potential buyer. We contracted Gorlin Pools to do the inspection, and the person that came was Cory and explained that our plaster surface in our swimming pool (had) to be re-plastered in order to sell our home, at the cost of $17,000. Due to the cost we sought other estimates and were very fortunate to locate a well known Princeton pool person and he stated that ALL that was needed was polishing by a diver. We were led to believe that an inspection would be an impartial report, but in our case it was a money grab. Our plaster now looks beautiful with a total expenditure of only $350. I have heard from many of my neighbors and friends that Gorlin Pools always sends Cory to a new customer to tell them that they need everything replaced at a tremendous cost. These people must have a degree in showmanship because they can create quite the fantasy at your expense. I cant imagine how these people can continue to treat people the way that they do. I have used Gorlin pools for the past 13 years at our first house that had an in ground liner pool and the next house which had plaster pool. Between there Aplus technicians down to their to the weekly cleaning crews. They all were up front with pricing and cost of everything. Corey who handles the renovations helped us with a new liner and some work behind the liner that needed attention and some spots on the floor. The level of communication from the scheduling up to the day of service was top notch. We were a little nervous when we moved and the second house had plaster instead of a liner. Not really knowing anything about them gorlin went above and beyond to educate on this type of pool and maintenance it needs. We felt confident enough to do the weekly maintenance ourselves but the long relationship and knowing gorlin would take care of it at ease. "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the Sweetness of Low Price is forgotten" Like with everything you get what you pay for. Gorlin isn't the cheapest but they also are not the most expensive. I have been told that their guys will work on Sunday's at time for their customers, talk about customer service! read more

This company is as good as it gets. We hired Gorlin Pools to perform an inspection at a home we were interested in purchasing. Corey came out and was extremely thorough. He assured us that the pool was very well cared for and although it was nearly 10 years old it was in incredible shape and should not be a deterrent. However he did mention that the retaining wall around the pool and the staircase should inspected by an engineer. This is not his field of expertise, however he did find us an engineer, as well as 3 contractors with experience in this type of work. We decided to take his advice and have it inspected by the engineer, and there was a major issue. We loved the house and everything worked out between the seller and I so we purchased it anyway. Corey helped us sort through all of the estimates, and choose the right contractor. We decided to use Gorlin Pools because of how helpful they were. The pool had to be opened early because of the wall, and when everything was done Corey stopped by with a box of Kosher chocolates from a local place in town. I read mixed reviews about Gorlin Pools, but needed at least one more estimate before making a decision. Contacted the service coordinator, and a supervisor named Corey Smith showed up the same day. I was surprised that such a young person was sent out to represent the company. He was the youngest representative I met with, with the most substantial skill set. We spent almost two hours discussing options, and then came the price. As I expected the price was the highest, but I only wanted to do the project one time, and do it right. Really long story short, they showed up on time completed the work accordingly, and offered me a discount on continued service. I felt compelled to post another review about how great my experience has been with this company. Last night we had an emergency leak from a tent that was installed for our daughters baptism celebration on Sunday, and we did not know what to do. We called Corey at 8:00pm on a Friday night and he was at our house by 8:30. He called in another one of his team members, and Steven was here by 9. They worked at our home until about 10:30 getting a leak fixed for us. To say they go above and beyond is an under statement. read more

I had a new liner installed by Gorlin Pools and Spas this summer. I am very happy with the way the liner came out. The whole process was easy and ran very smoothly. The installation team was very professional and timely. If I had any questions, I was able to call Steven C. directly and he always took my calls or got back to me right away.
