i had my pool done by them, very unhappy, unfortunately nothing but issues with the pool, over 13 service calls already, pool is only 2 years old, the linear is the cheapest they can give you, had to have it repaired twice already by other companies because even though I'm supposed to have a warranty with my pool in no way shape or form do they honor it. Every warranty call is met with rudeness and explanations why they don't cover a thing. Had the heater serviced 5 times, the jacuzzi a few times, it just got way out of hand. also, I was unaware that pooltown is a cookie cutter company that doesn't actually do any of their own work Besides for possibly some maintenance. the entire project was subbed out and done by many different companies. I could only hope that no one else has to go through what I did over the course of 2 years Which is how long it took them to build the pool, the 13 service calls have been over the past 2 years that we've been able to moderately us the pool, the problems just keep popping up. read more

UPDATED REVIEW. This seems awful, but here I am back again with yet another bad review for Pool Town. Unlike my last review that was requested to be taken down, this one will stay here as a cautionary tale. In the initial stage of my 10 x 20 ft. plunge pool cocktail installation in July, the company had issues that included (1) damaging my neighbor's water meter cap, (2) damaging my concrete steps, (3) grading my backyard higher than the privacy fence, and (4) bad communication regarding the finishing steps. After my 1 star review was posted in November, my pool was finished the next day. All areas were addressed----MIRACLE! Leesa called me, while shopping at the Supermarket, to lament about the service I received. We were cut off numerous times while she was shopping, but she mentioned that I should redeem a gift certificate for taking down my negative review, and that the company would make things right. Fast forward a week later with freezing temperatures, I receive the most helpless responses to my texts. Keep in mind that temperatures in our area are now below recommendations for keeping an unheated pool open. Even though this pool is heated, it still looks like the black lagoon and with no instructions for heating. No one can even coordinate how this will happen. Pool Town suggested that we record the subcontractor reviewing the steps so we don't forget in the Spring! I am beyond embarrassed for Pool Town and I can't wait for the cleaning and orientation to be over. They can't even coordinate that final step of the process. I would hate for anyone else to be treated in this way. UPDATE 11/14/25 1. You should never work with a company that tries to shift blame. If there are patterns of miscommunication and errors---you are not alone. Even today, I had a pool company tell me I'm not alone in this experience. My pool is STILL a black lagooon and Pool Town told a customer to just wait until the Spring for a clean opening. 2. Multiple issues---I hope your pool doesn't have my issues. It's 11-14 (almost 3 months later) and my basic cocktail pool is still not open. Don't do this to yourself. If you read how they write about me, a working professional, you understand. 3. "After hours."-It's funny that a company will ghost you will they have all your money and then blame you for working when they drown you in calls after your 1 star review. 4. Transparency matters. If you want to have a full discussion about what happened here, I'm happy to talk before you make up your mind. I can also provide all of the FACTS as you need them. UPDATED 12/9/25 After hiring our own company to keep the pool opened and cleaned for final inspection (scheduled for 12/17), we received an email today communicating "Phase 4" of the project: "We've just received confirmation from Pool Town that your pool project is complete! For the next year, I'll be your primary contact for all service-related questions. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need any help." Unless you've been living under a rock, it's the winter and temperatures are not optimal for having the pool still open. This company is honestly awful. I thought we were rid of them, and then I got follow up emails asking for our final $10.00 payment. You can't make it up. The installation of my pool was somewhat completed after 4months in 8/2025. The experience was completely overwhelmingly stressful. I was excited to sign on with this company and at the end it was so disappointing even till this date. If you want the work done by who you are paying your money to; you will be disappointed. They contract out to other companies to complete your pool. There were more calls, photos, videos, and emails communicated unnecessarily. A new liner wrinkled, concrete messy, the pool cleaning still dirty etc... As a company serving over 30years they lack the value of customer service and superb workmanship. As a company hiring contractors there is no 'Site Manager' to follow up after a job is done to ensure the work is done to the standards Pool Town "stands for". I walked outside with the weather breaking and there is discoloration in the cement. Tired of fussing with a company that does not care. No matter how many emails sent; not once did someone from Pool Town come out to evaluate what was stated. If you stand by your name; you will be out reviewing the complaints to invest in what your customers are saying and possibly seeking other contractors to do the job correctly. So here it is... another phone call/email that I'll be making regarding the discoloration (yellow stains) of the cement. The aggravation was not worth it. I will not recommend this company! Company lies about warranty and fees, made me think I had to use their company for opening and closings, so the so call 50 year warranty stay active. Also, they said the warranty stays with the home even if it was sold, another lie. Very annoyed with this company right now. While we did have a very nice pool built by then about 15 years ago, Fathers Day Sunday really pissed us off. I checked to see their hours of operation and they were open 10-4. My wife and I drove 45 minutes to meet with a rep and get pricing for a new pool. We walked in, asked to speak with a rep but was handed an info sheet instead. The girl at the window told me that the sales people work on a revolving schedule and because it was Fathers Day, no sales people were there. This is a retail store........people come in to buy pools, yet you have nobody there! The trip was a complete waist of out time and we left very pissed off. read more

My inground pool came out great. The process started in October 2022 and I started swimming in May 2023 after receiving all city approvals. I never went through this process before and it did get confusing at times, but it all paid off in the long run. There are 4 phases you go through and each phase has different people that you deal with. It would be nice if each project has one assigned person that you deal with through all 4 phases, like a point guard, but it worked out. Just be patient. The absolute worst pool company around. Billy is equivalent to a used car salesman. Pool is only 4 yrs old and there's countless rust spots throughout the concrete and new ones seem to pop up every year. I asked a friend who works with concrete and he said it's because the rebar was too close to the surface. Billy promised these "resort" style stairs with lots of jets. I asked him several times about the jets. These wonderful jets are nothing more than the filter jets. I upgraded the light package and Billy said oh you're getting "the mack daddy" of lights. 4 little measly lights and one of them only stays on yellow as of this pool season. If they tell you 3 months to complete prepare 6-9 months and add several thousand onto your original quote. Billy said he'll be popping in every now and then through the build. Great experience, great service, contractors, and excellent professionals. We signed up with Pooltown July 2020. Due to township delays our pool was finally finished April/May 2022. This is a big project so expect issues to come up but for the most part you were either told about them in advance or easy to call and ask about. As with any contractor you need to monitor and ask questions if there is something you are not sure about. For example, we expected our pool equipment in a different spot then what's drawn on the plans. Easy fix but glad we asked. Leesa, Gina, Lisa D., Dan P., and Sean were all a pleasure to deal with. We selected PoolTown, even though they were rather far away from where we reside, because we had heard that their construction for Vinyl type in ground pools was superior to others. We were way more than pleased. The installation was quicker than we expected, well coordinated in terms of the various parts of the install (excavation, install, patio, water feature etc) and the end result was outstanding. Now, it is 13 years since our pool was installed and we have enjoyed 13 trouble free years and we still are using the original (very thick) liner! Everything works as it did back then. I want to thank Pool Town for building an outstanding pool. Everyone involved in my pool project was very knowledgable and professional. I had an issue with the circuit breaker on the filter system along with the automatic vacuum system. I contacted Pool Town and they reached out to the electrical contractor and they came within a couple of days to change the circuit breaker. They also gave me the phone number for technical support for the auto vacuum. They called me and walked me through my issue and the vacuum is working great now. Pool Town doesn't stop providing support when the job is completed. Any issues or concerns I have had so far this pool season Pool Town handled. This company if you can call it a company is a job, subcontractors run the show. There service team is a joke. All they care is getting most of the money up front and there subcontractors have full control on adding on as much additional costs as they want. The only good guys are there electricians. ThIS place is poorly managed and there sales guys are liars. Stay far away this is a disaster you want avoid. Maybe when the original generation ran the place it was okay but the new generation is running volumes they cannot handle and work and service show. I got my pool install completed nearing the end of the 2021 pool season. The process started with signing of the contract in October of 2020. This was during the whole covid restrictions and supply shortages. My experience was not perfect but given the circumstances it was acceptable. Pool town did hold up to their end of the agreement. So I can't sit here and complain about work ethic. They have a pretty good team of contractors and installers and they also did good with me when it came to follow up work. Did it take longer than expected...Yes. Were there times of frustration....Absolutely. Was it worth it... In the end, Yes it was. Now we have a very beautiful and functioning pool that my family and friends get to enjoy on those hot and brutal NJ summers. Note: Two people that really stood out from their staff were Billy Azar and Leesa DeSimone. These are 5 star professionals who did go out of their way to make things happen for me. Tried since the spring to have someone take a look at, give an estimate, or even return a call for repairs needed to my in ground pool. HALF A YEAR and still nothing call after call. Even though Pool town installed my pool around 18 years ago I guess they just don't care. Only concern is opening, closing , and new pools. I guess they kick their old customers to the curb. Our Pool Guy is out of Ocean County so he only opens and closes our pool for us or checks it all before a big party. In 2014- our cover that was over 10 years old, finally did the crash and burn and became pool cover dust, so we opted to not cover the pool during the last 2 winters. I mean, we take care of the pipes, equipment and every few days (unless the water is frozen) we remove the usual leaves and debris that get blown in. Inevitably it turns to "Swamp A** Green". This year after talking to Tyler, he suggested we head over to Pool Town to get our water tested and purchase the necessary chem's. So, after removing any remaining smoodge and leaves off the bottom and doing a final vacuum, I took a water sample to PT. Now, I usually go to another "pool shop" down the street from me, but they still use the drop -drop chemical test and I have found I have had to buy a lot of chem's that really don't resolve issue. At PT, they have a mini-lab that does total water analysis. The pool gurus here gave me the necessary chem's, explained what was needed of each, how much and why- with a complete printout and their notes, so that I don't forget anything once I get home, plus, I have a record for comparisons- and none of my question's were dismissed, they were all answered and answered nicely. Fast forward 1 week and 4 water tests later, because when you add chem's you need to wait 48 hours to test again.. MY POOL is almost 100% crystal clear. I like that the techs and office staff are all friendly, informative and actually converse with me, asking questions on whats going on with my pool and what steps I am or have taken, which I find super helpful and refreshing, so that they know how to help me get my pool in tip top happy swimming order. It's so much nicer then just walking into a store and having a water test done and then being told- hey this is what you need have a nice day buh-bye, all without getting the bottom of whats going on with my pool. I really can't say enough about PT and everyone that I have had interaction with, I believe 100% that the customer service here at PT is spot on genuine, they get to know their customers and the pools they have, because, we all know, if you own a pool, there is a lot more to having a pool than just putting water and chlorine into it and swimming. read more

Pool town did our pool two years ago. To say it was a disaster is not enough. They did not abide by our contract which stated when delayed "X" amount of time you should get a certain amount of money back for each week that it is not completed. They blamed everything on covid when in reality It seemed they took on way too many customers during a time of uncertainty. When making such a huge financial decision to have an in-ground pool put in customers rely on honesty and abiding by a contract. unfortunately that wasn't the case for this company. every person we spoke to had a different reason/story for not showing up when they should. Our experience with pool town was horrible. Signed contract in oct 2019. Got our permit feb 2020. It is now July and cant pass inspection because the trenches are not filled properly, and we just keep getting the run around. Communication, customer service and there process is just simply terrible. They will drag there feet because you have to pay in phases and the pool is paid off before the work is completed. They also subcontract,so you dont know who is coming to your home and it takes weeks at times because you rely on there Reliability.They dont confirm appointments, they make appointments and dont show up. Bottom line you will just be a number, they keep signing contracts and cant finish the work they have to complete. read more

If I could put negative stars, warn every potential customer or put up flyers I would. Consumers need to be aware of who they are dealing with. The experience with pool town from start to finish was absolutely horrific. I have never worked with, communicated with or experienced such disorganized and unprofessional individuals. Our permits were approved and completed June 2021 and our pool was completed finally by June 2022 an ENTIRE year later (which was blamed on covid even though their contract says they refund $ for every week delayed after permitting). We basically paid 45k for a vinyl liner and hole in the yard. All the other labor and costs were on us. We do live on a hill and hit rock and they immediately charged us an additional 10k without a manager on site to even explain. The 10k didn't even cover removal of the rock, which they added until we brought in our own machine which finished the job in 1 1/2 days. Their staff rarely answers the phone unless its to receive a payment and the general manager only came to our site 2 times during the entire year span since the project started, always with an attitude and never replying to our calls, instead sending nasty and unprofessional text messages. Every phone call was ignored or rudely answered. We agreed to pay the additional fee due to the rock and soil considerations for our location however they continued to nickel and dime throughout the remainder of the project. Trash was left on the property for over 6 months and I made several attempts to ask them to clean it up. In the end we had to remove the debris ourselves, yet every time they came they had time to put up a pool town sign on our property. Trying to get them to install the final railing and show us how to even set up and use the pool was also painful. Note to anyone who is looking for a good pool company, this isn't it! read more

Since my initial review, I was contacted by the owner of Pool Town to try to make my experience better going forward. And they did that as promised. The rest of the process was very easy and Pool Town went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The pool is beautiful, works great, and we have gotten alot of compliments on the stamped concrete Pool Town poured and the cantilevered edge that came with it. I would recommend the upgraded LED lighting. Its beautiful at night and the perfect amount of lighting in the pool to really make it pop. If I had to do this all over again, the headaches in the beginning were well worth the result. read more

Cant say enough about the customer service here. We were looking to get an in ground pool for our backyard but after some inspection we found out we couldnt in fact put one in. We talked with Chris C. at pool town and they designed one of the nicest above ground pool for us. It was incredible since we thought we would be able to get a pool that fit our needs. My family was ecstatic and they really did a great job of working with us and making it happen. Used pool town and so disappointed. The one thing we wanted is a sun pad so we can place lounge chairs in the water. Most lounge chairs require 6-9 inches of water and once the pool was built we got the sun pad area with 14 inches. Cant even fix this nor find chairs that will work. Complete waste and when we called them they said "oh well". The led lights were installed only on one side we did not realize it as who could possibly think the lights would not be on both sides. The entire experience from start to finish was horrible. Not to mention we had to pay extra for engineering plans as they submitted wrong ones for the fence. Would never recommend them. read more

When designing your pool do not skimp on the deck, less is not more when considering how much space you need for deck furniture. The pool is beautiful we chose the dolphin design for our liner, and the grandkids love it. If you are thinking of getting a pool you can't get a better company than Pool Town.
