Luckily I tried to contact customer service for an explanation for this month's increase and was told by the chatbot that they are only open until 6pm PST. It was noon PST at the time and when I tried again, I realized it is just always closed. So I called the phone number which gives you 2 options. Pay your bill or hang up. No way to get a person. Fed up, I went to an alternative and am now paying 10 times less!! Thank you Public Storage for being so terrible. You are going to save me so much money!

When I contacted customer service, they ended the chat while I was still asking questions. I also asked multiple times if the lock fee was a deposit--they told me not to worry and promised a refund, which never happened. The year before, I shared a unit with friends and rats destroyed 70% of our belongings. Everything was covered in droppings or chewed. After a year of complaints, all they gave us was one free month. Paint is peeling off the sides of the hallway. Customer Service - is there any? It's a hit or miss whether or not the access key to get in after hours is going to work or not. I haven't been able to get important things when I needed them. The numbers they give you to call don't work - no one responds and don't even bother with email. Temperature control - we are on the third floor and for years I have been asking them about the temperature control. The first floor, the floor they probably tour, has excellent air-conditioning to an extent. Third floor has so much humidity and heat I had paintings that rolled up. The thermometer on the third and first floor were not working today so I pulled the second floor one off the wall and brought it upstairs and the temperature instantly went up. First floor is as cool a cucumber. Second floor decent. Understanding that heat rises, we are paying for a "temperature controlled" unit, which is very false. Since it's Stamford and you have the option to put your valuables in any of the thousands of storage Units - go elsewhere! By the way - they NEVER respond unless it's a good review.

I would not recommend Prime Storage in Danbury. While the facility itself is clean, the constant…read morerate increases are unacceptable. My monthly rent seems to go up every three months, making it nearly impossible to budget for long-term storage. It feels like they lure customers in with one price, only to keep raising it once you've moved in. To make matters worse, they refused to accept my current insurance policy, even though it provided adequate coverage, and instead pushed me to purchase their insurance. It felt more like a sales tactic than a customer-focused policy. If you're looking for a storage facility with transparent pricing and reasonable policies, I would look elsewhere. Frequent rent increases and pressure to buy additional services make this a frustrating place to do business.
