No it was 4 battered jumbo shrimp with a very spicy bang bang sauce. Loved it but would get the sauce on the side it was unbelievably hot I actually had to order chocolate milk . My cousin order the lobster Mac and Cheese huge pieces of lobster she said it was great. I had the seared scallops with roasted potatoes and broccolni. Amazing I had plenty of for Leto red . Our waitress was very attentive and super nice . Beautiful atmosphere. My cousin order had tried it last Month and said that the lobster carbonara was delicious and so were the lobster nachos . A perfect location after a show at the Oakdale. My family decided on a late lunch after seeing the Cirque Dreams Holidaze show. We were far enough away from the theater to avoid the crowds, but the drive to the restaurant was only minutes away. We were seated right away and in a booth that looked out over their patio. The restaurant was decorated tastefully for the holidays. The staff were friendly and attentive. To start, we ordered a Punch, Apple Cider Margarita, non-alcoholic beer & a Shirley Temple. We also decided on the fried calamari with peppers and marinara. It was tasty. Crispy, but not overcooked. My son even ate the peppers and loved the marinara..most of it made it into his mouth. I'm sorry to whoever had to clean up after him. My mother-in-law had the fish tacos and enjoyed them. My husband and son both had a burger with fries. The burger was on the larger side, so my son couldn't finish his. Of course I couldn't decide, so I put together the Crispy Salmon Bites appetizer and asked them to add them to a Caesar Salad. This was a pleasant place to stop by at, in Connecticut. I heard they have $1 oysters on Thursdays so that's what got me to stop by the second time. I'm a lobster fiend, of course, so I had to enjoy one of their lobster rolls, good both times. The second time on $1 Thursdays, not so much, a bit too salty the 2nd time around. The chowder is good here, they have two kinds, for those with a specific preference. Also, cannot forget the adult beverages, there is a full bar, so don't you fret. It was slightly pricey but that is expected from a seafood establishment. The atmosphere here is kind of, "sexy," so I'm assuming for romantic purposes this could be good. Low lighting and aphrodisiacs, what more could you ask for in your seafood. I was greeted fairly quick and the staff I have encountered both times were all fantastic, efficient and helpful if necessary. I saw the new Clinton location on local news and d discovered this location already existed in Wallingford. Glad I made a reservation since I saw a few people waiting upon entering (very spacious seat indoors). We had a really sweet and bubbly waitress and she took our order pretty quickly - however it did take 30-40 min for the food to be brought out. One unfortunate detail I want to point out is there were two bugs near our windows - which was pretty gross. Perhaps, some summer cleaning which is the only reason I'm taking one star off. Now coming to the food - majority was amazing! The Brussel sprouts had a nice sauce coating and the fried goat cheese tasted really good in the salad. I probably enjoyed the lobster tacos the most. The rice on the side was also super flavorful. The dark/stormy salmon dish was pretty good and clean, but I liked the rice from the lobster tacos more then the wild rice pilaf. Also, coming to the lobster roll, it was good, but I was also getting so full that I'm not sure I had a proper chance to taste it. I do wish it came with a side of coleslaw for something refreshing. The fries were bland and needed salt. Overall, minus the summer time (giving benefit of doing here) bug situation - the food was pretty good. She dried may flowers which looked beyond pretty (see pics) and I got the salted caramel martini that was the perfect pick me up I needed. Our waitress was so nice and made some amazing suggestions to us for what to try. I wiped out a plate of crab cakes by myself and get yourself a plate full for yourself and thank me later. They're stuffed and flavorful and the sauce you put on them is tangy and delish. We came to Westbrook Lobster for dinner while in CT because lobster (do you need another reason, really?) and it was kinda exactly what I expected in terms of prices and quality of food. Their lobster roll, which is what I had, was delicious with soft buttery bun, and a ton of lobster meat. The side fries were just OK, nothing crazy, just fries. I also had a chance to try their chocolate cake dessert and it was a touch disappointing because it was so insanely sweet but with that said, I think a lot of people would enjoy it (I tend to like my desserts less sweet, especially chocolate ones where I want to taste the chocolate and not so much sugar...) Overall if we're around and craving lobster, I'd definitely consider coming back here again! read more

Great local spot and one of the only sit-down lunch/dinner restaurants within the immediate area. It's walkable for me and my husband so we are there a lot! When it's nice, grab a spot on the patio. It's a great space with a view of the woods and Brook. We even saw a giant snapping turtle back there once. The warm goat cheese salad is one of my top 3 favorite things on the menu. You can't go wrong with any of the apps, but the crispy Brussels sprouts or bang bang shrimp are a must. Drinks are always good. I went here for a second time this experience wasn't as well as the first time. This time my roasted potatoes were under cooked. I asked for the rice pilaf and it was hard and cold. The fried shrimp, stuffed shrimp and salad were delicious. The waitress sent over the manager and I didn't ask for a manager. The manager was very apologetic and offered me a dessert but I was fasting from sweets so I couldn't eat dessert. I told her that's okay. A gift card for another time could have been offered but it wasn't. The waitress took forever to provide me my butter for my shrimp and she passed me to bring another table their drink and back tracked to give me my butter and cold/hard rice. I thought that was odd. My husband ordered a pasta dish with shrimp and scallops he enjoyed that. I thought it needed more seasoning. My husband was charged twice for our meal and called the restaurant the next day to find out what happened as soon as he noticed. The owner got on the phone. He was not friendly. My husband told him about the undercook sides we had and he didn't care at all. He also told my history that the meal was charged only once. The bank confirmed that it was swiped twice and that the restaurant credited the account back later. This is our second time back here. We live local and I always forgot to come here! The staff here was pleasant and very accommodating. We called for a reservation for 8 and they made sure to accommodate us. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful with tips. We ordered drinks, Bloody Mary and summer breeze and they were so yummy we got 2 more . Appetizers were orders mussels (forgot picture of that!) Cooked perfectly! The New England clam chowder was the best I've ever had, creamy, flavorful and not too salty. The clams on the half shell were chilled and extremely fresh, the crab Rangoon were crispy golden brown and the cream cheese filling was very flavorful. The shrimp cocktail were very fresh also and large in size. For dinners we had short rib grilled cheese, it was tasty but had a lot of bbq sauce seeping out, We would have preferred a little less. Next is Seared scallops were seared to perfection and delicious, the short rib Mac and cheese was a hit it was delicious flavorful three cheese sauce and the short rib was tender and not over sauced. The seafood combination was fried combo of clam strips , whole belly's, shrimp, cod, calamari all lightly fried and not over cooked on a bed of fries. The next meal was the surf and turf special was filet topped with a brown gravy and pan seared scallops on a bed of spinach, not a drop left! The crab baked salmon was my absolute favorite! The salmon was moist and very tender. It was cooked to perfection and the crab cake on top was also very flavorful and tender with a Lemon sauce on top, Definitely would get again. Last but not least was the Lobster Bake that thing whoa! Its a large pot on the bottom is steamed potato, corn on the cob, kielbasa in a broth. On top of that was clams and a 1 1/2lb lobster and a clam chowder soup. The lobster was so succulent and fresh there wasn't a scrap left! Finally dessert, not really sure how we all had room! The key lime tart was so refreshing, not too tart or sweet just a little creamy on a graham cracker shell. Perfect ending to my dinner. We also had the death by chocolate, that is a flourless chocolate cake with fudge layer in between a little dense but there was none left so didn't seem to be an issue. The last dessert was the Carmel peach crunch, this was fire roasted peaches on top of pound cake, dulce de leche sauce and Carmel swirl ice cream topped with cinnamon granola, this was a warm and very filling dessert with a complete mixture of all textures. My only request would be for the peaches to be cooked a little more to make them more tender. Clearly none of that left so it was delicious also! A must go to. read more

Awesome shrimp and very large shrimp. Most restaurants use small frozen shrimp not here. A MUST try appetizer. Go try the food and you will not be disappointed.
