Amazing food always

Haven't been here in a while, but decided to have dinner here on Valentine's Day. Everything came out amazing and delicious like always.

Haven't been here for a long time. It was a beautiful fall evening and we wanted to sit outside. I recalled they had a very nice deck out back overlooking a brook. When we got there, they said there was a wait in the dining room but we could sit in the bar. We asked about the deck and they said it was available. We were just 1 of 2 or 3 tables out there on a beautiful evening. Anyway, food was solid, fish tacos and a lobster roll, and the company beautiful. All in all a very good night out!

Pear and walnut salad

We went in for a late lunch and shared small plates. The restaurant was surprisingly pretty welcoming and I like the openness of the dining room, because it was late we were the only one eating. We started with the lobster nachos it was different with wontons chips light and tasty, fried lobsters fingers were delicious, the medallions steaks with the sauce were yummy and tender, pear and walnut salad had too much dressing my husband also had the New England clam chowder he loved it

Westbrook Lobster in Wallingford brings summer vibes to you! The menu is made for seafood lovers and offers so many different lobster options including the lobster nachos made with flour tortillas and topped with cheddar cheese, black beans, corn salsa, pico, scallions, sour creams and a bang bang sauce. Another favorite was the surf and turf burger with warm buttered lobster, gruyere cheese, lettuce, tomato and a lemon aioli with a toasted brioche bun. To wash it all down I had their staple beer called the "livin like Larry" Pilsner from Kent Falls Brewery. Then the waffle cone sundae was the cherry on the top with moose track ice cream, crushed chocolate covered pretzels, marshmallow and peanut butter sauce, and crushed Oreos. I would literally go back to order just this alone. Alex my server made the experience so pleasant with her friendly and bubbly personality. I had a great time and a great dinner!

Indoors feels welcoming with the high ceilings. Food was quick and servers were very kind. The food was delicious and exactly what I was looking for as a healthy alternative for traveling.

A perfect location after a show at the Oakdale. My family decided on a late lunch after seeing the Cirque Dreams Holidaze show. We were far enough away from the theater to avoid the crowds, but the drive to the restaurant was only minutes away. We were seated right away and in a booth that looked out over their patio. The restaurant was decorated tastefully for the holidays. The staff were friendly and attentive. To start, we ordered a Punch, Apple Cider Margarita, non-alcoholic beer & a Shirley Temple. We also decided on the fried calamari with peppers and marinara. It was tasty. Crispy, but not overcooked. My son even ate the peppers and loved the marinara..most of it made it into his mouth. I'm sorry to whoever had to clean up after him. My mother-in-law had the fish tacos and enjoyed them. My husband and son both had a burger with fries. The burger was on the larger side, so my son couldn't finish his. Of course I couldn't decide, so I put together the Crispy Salmon Bites appetizer and asked them to add them to a Caesar Salad. The only thing that would've made it better was a spicy dressing. This will definitely be our go-to after shows at this he Oakdale!

Fried Seafood Platter

This place used to be pretty good. Covid destroyed it. They minimized their menu and have not gone back to a full menu like they used to have. Selection is much more limited but the price is high. Portions are way down also. Ordered the seafood Platter and it came with 4 shrimp, 6 scallops and about 10 whole clams. Even the fries seemed minimal and they were unsalted. Looks like if I want to pay high prices for more food I need to head to the shoreline. Wallingford is just not the place for seafood. Service was on point but the place was pretty empty and now I know why.

This was a pleasant place to stop by at, in Connecticut. I heard they have $1 oysters on Thursdays so that's what got me to stop by the second time. I'm a lobster fiend, of course, so I had to enjoy one of their lobster rolls, good both times. I enjoy them hot, and the roll was toasted as well just the way I like it and comes with a side of fries, no complaints. The first time I ordered the oysters, and they were great. The second time on $1 Thursdays, not so much, a bit too salty the 2nd time around. The chowder is good here, they have two kinds, for those with a specific preference. Also, cannot forget the adult beverages, there is a full bar, so don't you fret. It was slightly pricey but that is expected from a seafood establishment. The atmosphere here is kind of, "sexy," so I'm assuming for romantic purposes this could be good. Low lighting and aphrodisiacs, what more could you ask for in your seafood. I was greeted fairly quick and the staff I have encountered both times were all fantastic, efficient and helpful if necessary. The parking lot is big, but this place can get packed, I lucked out twice in a packed lot. I would come back again.

Great service by people who are genuinely happy you are there. Surf&Turf Burger was absolutely amazing!!! Indoor and outdoor seating and no rush to finish your dining experience. Awesome place.

Connecticut Style Lobster Roll

I saw the new Clinton location on local news and d discovered this location already existed in Wallingford. Glad I made a reservation since I saw a few people waiting upon entering (very spacious seat indoors). We had a really sweet and bubbly waitress and she took our order pretty quickly - however it did take 30-40 min for the food to be brought out. One unfortunate detail I want to point out is there were two bugs near our windows - which was pretty gross. Perhaps, some summer cleaning which is the only reason I'm taking one star off. Now coming to the food - majority was amazing! The Brussel sprouts had a nice sauce coating and the fried goat cheese tasted really good in the salad. I probably enjoyed the lobster tacos the most. The rice on the side was also super flavorful. The dark/stormy salmon dish was pretty good and clean, but I liked the rice from the lobster tacos more then the wild rice pilaf. Also, coming to the lobster roll, it was good, but I was also getting so full that I'm not sure I had a proper chance to taste it. I do wish it came with a side of coleslaw for something refreshing. The fries were bland and needed salt. Overall, minus the summer time (giving benefit of doing here) bug situation - the food was pretty good. I'd probably come again when in the mood for seafood and try out a new item from the specials.

So excited

Fast and efficient service. Lobster mac and cheese and lobster rolls are excellent. Nice ambiance. Could use a broader drinks menu.

Great casual atmosphere in the bar setting area. Fish and chips are fantastic and this is my favorite place to go for my "fix."

"Imitator, intimidator, stimulator Simulator, eliminator"…read more(Eminem) If ten state of the art golf simulators are your stimulators, you'll love a visit to Back 9 Social. And your visit will not be handicapped by a lack of gastropub like food and drink. Their golf simulators are very impressive and combine radar and camera technology to faithfully recreate some of the best courses in the world, including St Andrews, Pebble Beach, and 120+ others. A professional organization I belong to held a gathering there last night and had a great time. We ordered and paid for our drinks through their big bar through a QR code, but you can still pay the old-fashioned way with cash if you prefer. We had plenty of their pizzas which were quite yummy. Our golfers had a blast and I should point out that although some of the other customers I saw actually brought their own set of clubs, Back 9 can hook you up with their clubs for men, women, lefties, righties, and kids. And of course, plenty of tees and balls to whack into their high-definition screens. The facility is gorgeous, the golf simulators were amazing, the staff was helpful and friendly, and it was a very enjoyable experience.

This place is a lot of fun, and we genuinely enjoy coming here, but our experience with management…read moreon multiple occasions has really put a damper on the whole establishment. We completely understand that the facility has every right to monitor alcohol consumption and prevent inappropriate behavior. Nobody wants people getting sloppy or disruptive, and we respect that. However, there's a much more professional and respectful way to handle it than what is done. We are unsure of her name, but the female manager present made us uncomfortable as she was constantly staring at our group throughout the evening instead of simply communicating expectations directly. The alcohol restrictions are also entirely ridiculous- I specifically was told by the bartender that I was being watched for alcohol consumption after having 2 Coronas in a time span of 1 hour and 45 minutes. The restriction on alcohol itself is not the main issue -- it's the way it is handled. We have felt watched and punished despite the fact that nobody in our group was loud, inappropriate, or intoxicated on multiple occasions. I also want to note that the bartenders have been spectacular and are always very nice. This is specially about the manager and the way she acts towards paying customers. When you're spending over $200 on the simulator alone, a little courtesy and respectful communication would go a long way. We really do like this place, but experiences like this make us hesitant to come back.

Called a few days prior to see if we could get a table and they kept saying they were booked unless we wanted to come in at 10:00am. I said no thank you and tried again the next day....they said no again but to call again at night to see if there were any cancellations. So I called again and they said we could come at 12:30 which is the time we preferred (it was either that or 1:00 - can't remember the exact time). Upon arriving, the room down below appeared to be full, but there were many tables up top that were empty. Maybe there weren't enough servers to accommodate more tables, but it definitely wasn't booked up so not sure why they kept telling me they couldn't accommodate us at the time we preferred. Ambiance really nice - overlooking the golf course. We walked around after brunch around the cart path. Nice walk - even in the cold. I got the Lyman's Egg Benedict with gluten free bread and fruit on the side. Boyfriend got the Western Omelet with bacon instead of ham. Home fries very tasty however lukewarm. I would like to come back for one of their events as they seem to have a lot going on. Their drink menu looks cool too.

The restaurant was very busy due to the beautiful October day. We arrived, it was still the brunch menu. They had so many great choices along with a few lunch items added in. We decided to wait the 20 minutes for the lunch menu. We ordered chili and a burger. We had some exceptions but the waitress was accommodating and our food came out exactly as we had ordered it. Along with the diverse items for lunch, they also have a great beer on tap menu which includes their local cider. If you're in the area picking some fruits or vegetables, definitely stop in and have a beer and some lunch.
