When we arrived there were unfortunately no sales associates available to help us, which was surprising given it was a Saturday afternoon. There was one sales person working at the time but he was helping someone else, so one of the service techs tried to assist as best as possible. He was extremely friendly and directed us to the models that would most likely be a best fit for our needs. Once the sales associate got freed up, he started working with my husband and me. Unfortunately about a half hour into our progress we were passed off again to another sales associate. It was a little frustrating to have to re-start our conversations and explain what we needed to so many different people. Once we got settled with the associate who would ultimately take us through the purchase process, there was a lot of up-selling going on. I can't tell you how many times I had to say "no" to a water bottle cage or bike bells. The one thing that happened that dropped my rating down a star involves the bike mount. We originally wanted a bike hitch rack, and were told repeatedly that it needed to be 2". It was even the one thing that I physically wrote down before I left the store. Unfortunately it turns out that they don't make a 2" trailer hitch for my car, and when I called Trek to request a trunk rack instead I was told, oh, a 1.25" hitch would be fine. After calling 4 different installers to try to get an appropriate hitch only to find out that I was given the wrong size to start, I was exasperated and over the entire thing. You should also know the hitch installer they work with "down the road" gave the most expensive quote of anyone I spoke with. Anyway, I ultimately got a trunk rack and was able to pick up my bikes. I am not sure if I'll make the effort to return to this particular location considering there are others closer to my house, but in the end, I got what I needed.

When we entered the store, we were not greeted or acknowledged by any staff member. We spent a considerable amount of time testing multiple putters on the practice green, yet no one approached us to offer assistance, answer questions, or provide any guidance. My wife has recently gotten back into golf and was looking to upgrade some of her equipment. After trying several models, we selected an Odyssey putter and then began looking for a driver. Since no one offered assistance, I personally searched through the racks and gathered six different drivers for her to test. When I approached an employee near the hitting area for help, I was told rather dismissively that he was conducting a fitting and that I should find someone else. I then approached another associate, only to be met with what felt like annoyance and inconvenience for simply asking for assistance. The interaction was so off-putting that I seriously considered leaving without making a purchase. What made this experience even more frustrating was that we had visited another location just the day before and received excellent service. The staff there were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in helping us make informed decisions. The contrast between the two locations was striking. Despite the poor service, we still spent over $600 on equipment. Unfortunately, the lack of engagement, customer service, and overall professionalism left a lasting negative impression. The staff seemed uninterested in helping customers and gave the impression that they would rather be anywhere else than assisting shoppers. I cannot recommend this location based on our experience. Customers investing significant money in golf equipment deserve knowledgeable guidance and courteous service, neither of which we received during our visit.

I wanted a 2.5 HP motor and was told they had one in stock. I said I'd be there the next day. I drove to their location near US Route 40 and entered their showroom. I stood around for about 15 minutes before someone asked if I was being helped. Glad to finally have my presence acknowledged I asked for help. After finalizing the purchase I was directed to their marina south of town to pick up the motor. The salesman called ahead to let them know I was coming. I got to the marina and entered the store area. I again had to wait 15 minutes before someone offered to help me. The motor I got wound up not being ready for use. After putting on a small sailboat it wouldn't keep running. After going fo ra couple minutes it would surge and stall. This happened about ten times as I paddled the boat back to shore in 95 degree weather. I suffered heat exhaustion as a result. The next day I put the motor on a jon boat and tried again. Again it kept stalling. I viewed a You Tube video about the motor to insure I was starting it correctly but it kept stalling. After about an hour it finally stayed running. The Anchor technician omitted a couple of steps involved in starting the motor. Even after watching the instructional video the engine was very difficult to get going. Their total indifference to helping customers was very off putting. I won't do business there again.

I called and the owner (John) picked up saying I made him come back in to answer the phone since he was walking out the door but that if I got it dropped off he'd look at it the next day. I called the next morning to make sure they got the key and everything okay and was told they would look at it and give me a call. By lunchtime I got a call from John explaining that a $145 part was broken and needed to be replaced. Since it required a good amount of labor to move the trans and repace it the labor would be over $900 in addition to the part ($1200+ total). I told him that I was going to call the shop where I got the truck and see what the cost would be to fix it there - John got huffy again and said "hurry up and let me know because I have to get it the hell off my lift and its taking up space." Even by getting another tow 20 miles/a half hour the cost difference was easily in the FEW hundreds so definitely worth getting it towed AWAY from Sweeney's. I scheduled for another tow truck to take it from one shop to the other right away... When I called Sweeney's back to let them know someone was on the way I was told there was a bill waiting for me for $122 for the diagnosis. I'm not the argumentative type usually but I talked to John again and explained that I work for a living too; although I don't expect free service (his diagnosis), I was curious what he would do with that kind of cost difference and $122 when I was never told anything before was a lot more than I expected (this was the first time pricing was mentioned outside of his $1200 estimate). John was his normal demeanor and said that was how much his time to diagnose it was worth. I would have much rather paid $122 more for towing to a different place the first time and not have to deal with calling multiple tow companies, another shop, and the hassle of Sweeney's attitude and ridiculous quotes. Definitely think twice before you go here.
