This is a great place for sports stuff. It's at a great price and helmets and bats are great colors and sized well for ages

I was in this store last Saturday March 14 purchasing some workout clothes. This store has always been very helpful until I I got to the golf section. There was a gentleman working the golf section and at the time that I walked into the department, I was never greeted or anything. I purposely walked in front of him to look at a new sets of golf clubs, which I came in to buy also, and I left in frustration. I couldn't believe it, i was about to spend $800.00 on a new golf set but I guess I was invisible. Disappointing All of the other departments were great and I did purchase my other items. read more

Dennis helped us today. Looking for a roof rack and couldn't find what we needed. He continued to look after we left his area and found what we needed and tracked us down at the cash register to deliver the perfect roof rack!! I bought a rain jacket here about 5 years ago, and thanks to our wonderful friends on Delta Airlines, it's gone. I left it on a flight and, within 1 hour, I filled out a "lost article" form. I have received 3 "we're still looking for it, but haven't found it!" emails from Delta. So I made my way to Dick's again last weekend, and *BAM* they've got the same jacket, on sale (again) for $59.99 (which is what I paid for it 5 years ago). It's normally $99.99. My only complaint is, when I tried to get help in the Boxing Glove section, it would have been easier to find a needle in a stack of needles. Other than that, great store. Oh, and I fully expect to see the guy who waves the light batons to park the planes at the gate wearing my "lost" jacket. :( read more

Prefacing this that at the time of this review (May 2014) the store was undergoing a massive renovation project. Their golf, cycling, hiking, running and hunting sections were all but non existent. They were running a truncated floor inventory to make room for construction. Instead of pointing you to the area or general direction, they would take you to the actual spot and help you look. You simply do not find service like that anymore and Mike, Eric and the other Mike were a great help finding things with a lot of their merchandise having been moved about. They would apologize if an item was not in stock and even recommend another place where I could find those particular items (as well as going to Dick's website, of course). I found an excellent selection of Under Armour gear and clothing and despite a reduced stock, they still had more than a so called sports authority establishment DESPITE a reduced stock during construction. How bad does that other store have to be when Dicks has a better selection when under construction??? Rhylee and Jordan were great while checking out and helped get an online order for an item that was not in stock. I was EXTREMELY happy with my visit here. Now I'm making Dick's my first stop sporting good shop when I'm here instead of going to the Sports UN-authoritative place and having a horrible experience there. read more

It is unfortunate that I did not receive the same level of service as the two previous reviewers. I visited this DSG location on a Sunday and walked through the golf section. My wife found a long sleeve Nike mock turtleneck in my size that was on the clearance rack which stated 50% off lowest ticketed price. That baby went on my shopping list very quickly and we walked through the rest of the store. During the checkout process, we hand the cashier the clearance Nike shirt which was marked as follows: MSRP: $55.00 Red ticket: $39.99 The cashier scans the item and it comes up on the screen as $29.97. I question the cashier as to why it was not marked down 50% and she enlists the help of another associate and that is where the transaction takes a turn for the worse. The other associate says no less than three times "the shirt ends in a 9 and it must not be on clearance." We let her ramble on for a few minutes and the original cashier tells her that it was showing in the system as $29.97 which is a clearance item as designated by it ending in a "7". The second cashier calls back to the department and speaks to another associate over the phone. I explain to both associates that it was found on a clearance rack and the item was nowhere else in the store because I searched around and wanted to purchase more of this item. The second associate walks back to the rack and returns stating she could not find the clearance sign. I walk back with her and the sign is no longer on the display. I don't know how it disappeared, but it was no longer on the display. The associate keeps telling me that the clearance sale must have ended on a Saturday. What bothers me the most is that I worked retail many moons ago and we never ended a clearance sale on a Saturday.....ever. I leave the store without the item and feeling like a criminal because of how I was treated by this associate. I could not get a word in with this associate and every time I said something, she told me I was incorrect. All I can remember from my retail experience is that you treat the customer in a professional manner and use common sense. $15 is not worth losing a customer for life. And by the way.......I visited another DSG the next day and they had a huge 60' tent out front with signs that stated "Clearance Sale". They must have broken down the tent on Sunday and put it back up on Monday. That makes most sense to me...... read more

Terrible service at the hunting section, went in Black Friday to purchase firearm and just waiting and waiting as staff behind counter just stood there. Looks like they were doing background check one at a time, waiting for call back to confirm cleared to purchase. Here's an idea, how about you make 3 calls one for each person waiting !!! then process when receive call backs. Not even busy, just clueless and then beating on Cabelas for being slow?? a little self reflection needed here. Just buy online and ship to ffl. Sale was only $20 off and found cheaper online anyway. read more

Went to Dick's Sporting Goods today for the first time. A Teeter Inversion Table had been recommended for us so we thought that we would take a look and try one out. There were three types of inversion tables which we could probably have tried, but we could not get anyone to help us. I do not believe that the customer should be responsible for walking around the store in hopes of finding a sales associate who wants to give assistance. Maybe there is a special procedure for shopping here since I also was looking at workout clothes and, again, no one to assist. Luckily, there are other places to shop. read more

Just left Dick's after being told they carry ZERO women's swim items during the winter months.

This particular Dicks' is large and conveniently located by the Christiana Mall. Almost anything you want is located in this store. The staff was friendly, but since I was just browsing didn't really note their knowledge base on the equipment. read more

In an age when the "self-service mindset" of retailers has become the norm it it refreshing to be treated like a VALUED customer. We purchased a treadmill (Livestrong 10.0) on May 11 at Dick's Sporting Goods in Christiana, Delaware. We came with an SUV, prepared to take it home with us that evening. When Nate, a "Team Lead" offered us the option of having it delivered and assembled, we initially declined, assuming that they would not deliver to our home in Maryland, as it was 35 miles away in a rural area where they likely would not have any other deliveries. Nate countered that they deliver to Maryland all the time and that this would not be an issue. We did not want to wait a long time and he told us that they deliver 7 days a week and even evenings and that we would likely have it delivered within the week. All we had to do was go online to www.my6thman.com to set up a time and that someone would call us. Well, long story short the delivery service kept promising us they would try and schedule something , but that the truck was "full" and kept pushing the delivery date out until May 30. I was so aggravated at that point that I decided to call Dick's and tell them to refund our credit card and go elsewhere and get it delivered sooner. My husband tried to dissuade me from calling, telling me that "You will not get anywhere. They will just tell you "too bad" and then you will have to wait even longer. It's not worth it. They will not care. You're stuck. They've got your money and they have no incentive to even try to persuade the deliver company to move up the date. Nobody cares about customers today. That's just the way it is." I did not care. I decided to call anyway. I called and asked for Nate. I explained what had happened and he apologized and said that he would work something out. I then gave the phone to my husband because he was the one that had spoken with the delivery company and he gave Nate the history. Much to my delight and surprise, Nate and his Store Manager, Jason arrived at our door step within the hour. Nate refunded our delivery and setup charge and apologized that they could not assemble it. My husband told him that this would not be a problem. We tried tipping them and they would not take it. Nate and Jason both obviously understand customer service! They went above and beyond and I most definitely will recommend this store to others. It is refreshing to be treated with with respect for our business and the courtesy that makes you want to be a repeat customer. read more

No stars for this store. Prior to today I would visit this store weekly or every other week. Both of my children are serious athletes. I felt like less than a repeat customer but more like a repeat offender. I wanted to buy a pair of Nike shoes for my daughter. No store employees were in the footwear section of store. We had to seek out assistance. Once the employee brought out the pair of shoes, we were told we couldn't be left alone because she had to watch us; so many people were stealing from them. Hmmmm - strange. Why watch us? They have security tags & a security monitor ON the sales floor! I found her verbiage unnecessary & slightly offensive. I became even more offended when I was told I had to be escorted to the cash register, I couldn't walk alone. What??!! Needless to say I did not purchase the shoes. This new policy is going to back fire. More energy, money & time is being put into watching and losing repeat customers (not a good ROI) than providing actual customer service and product knowledge. ....Really undeserving of any stars. I will never patron this store again in any form. read more
