I had a Cabelas credit card that had over $160 in earned points that I did not spend. I had not used the card in a bit. They claim they sent me a cancellation letter in August that I never recieved. They cancelled my card on December 19th and took away my points that were the same as money in Cabelas. I did not receive that cancellation letter until mid January. They just took away the money that I earned using their card. I called the credit department and they told me they could not give me back my points or reopen my card that was dated to expire on 03/29. How can you take away something that someone earned? They should have sent me a gift card to Cabelas for the points that I earned instead of keeping my money. I do not consider this good business! read more

It's a smaller sized Cabela's / Bass Pro Shop. I've seen such elaborate ones in other areas but it's big enough with plenty of taxidermy looking at customers from above. They carrying everything from dog treats, home decor, clothing , camping, fishing, human candy, bird food on and on and on... I can spend hours just browsing every aisle. If you're looking for a discount store you may want to pass. They do run some great Black Friday and clearance sales though. The mirror image of corporate sibling Bass Pro Shops, Cabella's in the Christiana Mall is a sportsman's paradise. The store is huge and logically organized by activity. While hunting is not my thing, friends that do rave about the selection and service. For the fishermen among us the stock is deep at all price points and with an expert staff, there's little chance of going wrong whether your pleasure leads you to a freshwater lake or surfside. And if your preference is simply looking active and badass you'll feel right at home among the deep bench of outdoor clothing perfect for shooting small game... or just the breeze. I love this store and at the Christiana location, there's no sales tax. Sure you can get it online but this is the kind of store that demands getting a feel for the equipment and trying things on. One of my faves and an easy five stars. read more

This store has gone downhill since 2022. Ordered an item online for in store pickup, the outfitters forgot to pull my item from the shelves. Thanks to their carelessness, someone had bought and paid for the same item despite the fact I already claimed it online. After being placed on hold for 15 minutes while calling to check on my order status, I was informed of the error and told by Outfitted "Eli" that my item was bought by someone else and he wasn't sure if a refund could be issued or when the product would be restocked. After calling the Bass Pro/Cabelas operations center in Missouri, a refund was issued and I called 3 other stores before finally getting the product I needed at the Cabelas in Short Pump Virginia. What was supposed to be a simple drive to Delaware turned into a 6 hour trip across the Delmarva Peninsula from the Cape May Ferry into Short Pump Virginia just for a firearms accessory. My message to Cabelas in Christiana is simple, pull your act together and fix the incompetency of your store. We all know Delaware's strict gun laws have demoralized the community, but that doesn't grant you the right to provide horrible customer service. I will be avoiding this location from now on and advise everyone else to do the same. BE BETTER, DO BETTER!!!!!!!!!! read more

First time wanting to purchase firearms. Was prepared to purchase at least two items same day. With ammo. But knowing very little I was looking to get some information on beginner hand gun and shotgun. They didn't have the shotgun I was looking for as it was maybe sold out. I say maybe because the "salesperson" gave me a "I think we sold out" and left it at that. Didn't even bother to check & seemed disinterested. No hyperbole, I'm usually an easy sell once I've made up my mind and actually walk into the store. Always have been. I don't go to stores unless I am prepared to make a purchase. Having over 20 years of experience as a store level PT, then FT sales, then manager and then 15 of those years as a District Manager for a large retail company I can without a doubt say that this store MUST be under performing. Beautiful store too. Very unfortunate. Walked out having purchased nothing & wasted my time. But not my money because I will spend it elsewhere. I did an order pick up and it took a bit to process. I waited for an email correspondence for a hour and decided to go into the store and just purchase the item, cancel the online order and carry on with my day. And we waited in line for a number to be helped, when my son's number came up he was greeted by Jim one of the salesman there. Let me tell you he was to most friendly and courteous i've seen i watched how he took his time and explained the process of paperwork, what he can expect after the process was finished. he was very inviting and listened to any question my son had asked. You have to come to Delaware - because you can take advantage of "Tax Free" Shopping; No matter how close you are to the NJ State Line. Staff associates are very diverse - either they have amazing and in depth knowledge of the items for sale or they don't have any near clue :-) Having said that - folks overall in the shop - despite being scarce - are very friendly. My extended family members (namely: farmers and hunters) are obsessed with this store. While I'll always choose the city life over camping out in trees, I understand why they love this place so much. For one thing, it's massive. I walked in 22 minutes prior to their closing last night so I didn't get the full experience, but I did stick around long enough for key observations: 1) Their massive stuffed animal section. And I *literally* mean stuffed animals. 2) They randomly have candy. And fudge. Why? No idea. 3) Their collection of outdoor gear is insane. I mean, I guess that's the whole point of the store, but I whipped through a bunch of different fleece options before finding a light jacket (made by Cabela's, $80 but 25% off) that suited my needs. If you'd rather snag a North Face, they have several of those, too. I was there to buy a coat for the office. I don't know if it's because the air conditioner has finally been lowered or this coat, but either way, I'm not miserably cold in here for the first time...ever, so this is an accomplishment. read more

Today we decided to take a drive up to take a look at a gun and we picked up a few things along the way, nothing we really needed, but probably about the $200-250 mark. The checkout lines were all over the place, with no one helping. Then customer service kindly rings up people from the back end of the line that just walked up, meanwhile up at the registers 2 of the 4 open lanes have bogged down including ours. We were a bit miffed; here's why, and it wasn't just the wait. After standing there and watching an elderly cashier struggle with an entire cart full of clothes and small individual items. we were ready to leave, as we'd already been waiting awhile. I took our items and walked it over to lay our them on an empty cashier counter that was closed and it made a racket because it was heavy ammo and a metal object (bird feeder). As I walked passed another cashier (with med-long straight blonde hair and glasses) she snarkily said "have a great day" - I replied that 'I was having one until I got here and that we'd been held up in line for some time.' This young girl looked at me incredulously and tried to shame me by pointing out that age of the slow cashier. I guess it never occurred to miss snark that maybe the older cashier was struggling and needed assistance. No, let's make a customer the bad guy because we didn't want to wait any longer to pay for stuff we didn't need, as if shaming me would 'help' the situation. We left without another word, and will be sticking with the Arundel Mills mall "outdoor world" where they know me by name, and treat me with respect. read more

This is a good stop for RVs and campers. They have RV parking in the back of the store. It was comfortable and quiet even though it's next to the highway. They should have a place to get coffee. We were looking for DEF for our truck and they didn't have any. We think a store like them with trucks and rv parking should carry that. read more

A lot of selection, but too expensive and not even made in America! There are a few American made things, but most items, go and figure, are made in China, Indonesia etc!! If thats what you're looking for it can be found online far cheaper. When the store first opened it had a better caliber of employee, ones that seemed as though the were speaking with real world experience, ones that were very knowledgeable, actually knew the products, and could help you make informed decisions. Now it's gone way down hill it's basically Walmart, young people just there for a paycheck, and to hang out at talk with other employees and looking to do as little as possible for that check. It's worth visiting once if you've not been there before to see the taxidermy, and the hot roasted cashews, but spend your money wisely elsewhere. read more

I'm so excited that it now only takes an hour to get to one of my favorite stores! My first visit and the problem I have is not comparing it to the Hamburg location which is huge. So my first thought when walking in is that it definitely does not compare to the size of hamburg so I will review it based on its own merits... Or at least try. First (and this might be trivial to most) I usually need to use the ladies room as soon as I arrive because I drink water all day long so my least favorite thing about the store is this. Not set up efficient enough so when trying to wash your hands and there is a line of people and only one hand dryer with no towels...well let's just say your pretty much air drying your hands as you walk out. My favorite part about the store was the women's hunting clothes! Super stoked that there were pieces in the outfitther line that I don't have yet and got added to my Christmas list. I also found a hunter safety system vest made for women which was great since I've been using men's for quite some time so I can retire that one. Some things we passed on since we plan on saving money and getting them cheaper at Walmart but I must say my first impression is a good one and we will be returning again before the bow season begins for a few more items. Lastly I also want to note that they have an entrance to 95 North right from the parking lot which is brilliant! read more

People have been waiting for years for a Cabelas to open in the side of the country. There are very few places on the face of the earth like Cabela's. If they don't have it, it's probably not made. Standard outdoorsy store. I had never been in a Cabela's before, but had seen plenty of commercials & catalogs, that I knew what to expect. The store itself was kept quite nice, the staff was extremely helpful for pointing me out in the right direction, as I got lost a number of times and the flow of customers coming in and out seemed to be steady. The gun shop portion of this Cabela's is just horrible. Not only do they NOT tell you that you MUST take a number in order to be served, but they are severely understaffed so you will wait a very long time to have a sales clerk assist you when one is finally available. The gun staff is so uninterested in serving you that when we got a brick of .22 ammo that was so very defective in quality that it was unusable, when we tried to do an exchange, they could care less because of their return policy (can't return ammunition). We asked for an exchange but they would not even do that. The only thing they would do for us was to give us a $10 gift card on a $40 box of unusable ammo. And they could care less about the next guy who buys this crappy ammo. This is not a store I would ever return to. I have been to several other Cabela's but will never come back to this one. Too bad I can't give it a negative 1 or 0 stars for a rating. Save your money for a mom and pop shop, they deserve your business and would have taken care of our issue no questions asked. read more

Finally checked out this new Cabela's a couple of weeks ago with my husband. Wow - it's a pretty cool place! If you need something for hunting, fishing, camping, etc., then this is your place. I love the whole vibe of the place with all the outdoorsy/cabin type décor, and I couldn't help but notice that the whole store just smelled amazing. I don't know - a cross between their fudge and the outdoorsy scent? Whatever it was, it worked. Anyway, the guns were definitely my favorite part - so many different types to look at, from the antique guns to the machine guns to the shotguns - they were all so pretty :) We walked out with a new pair of hunting boots for my old man, but if we'd have had an extra $10,000 on us, we could have really had some fun! This was my first visit to a Cabela's - don't know why it took so long to build one in the area - but it was worth the wait! read more

Their prices are in line with any other large chain retailer so I've never been sticker shocked. This store seems to always have good stock for reloading components to include some of the niche rounds. On two occasions I've walked out of the store with really good discounts on a nice high end Sitka jacket at great price (from bargain cave) and a high end scope that prices would've matched any deal from an online vendor. The staff has been mixed. Fortunately I don't go to any big chain stores for my expert advice. Some of the staff is knowledgeable and some clearly not but that's no different than any other place I've actually worked for with coworkers. So bottom line is don't expect this store to behave like the boutique online vendors that specialize in one area and or bottom barrel prices. But when I've need/wanted something same day it's worked out well with some surprise deals to boot. read more

I know theirs a nation wide ammunition shortage but it could be handled better . Hand out the ammo so no one abuses the limitations .
