I scheduled a one-on-one with Ray Holcomb after considering his experience and extensive background...Ray provided so much insight and explained things in very clear and easy to understand language, I learned more from Ray in our time together than I had from various other sources and my confidence and accuracy improved immediately. I left with the knowledge I needed - I can't recommend Ray enough to anyone looking for the foundation to safe and effective use of firearms. read more

Outrageous incompetence. Aside from $65 long gun transfer fees, they can't do NFA transfers correctly. I had a suppressor form 3'd to them, and they insisted I set up a Silencershop account to do it. They told me every SOT has to go through Silencershop (lie). They told me they didn't have the suppressor in yet (lie). They told me the ATF was still closed so transfers couldn't be done (lie). Grover is making it up as he goes, and every answer is no. After so many lies, I said enough just send it to a competitor. of course Grover says he doesn't even know if that can be done (lie). Do not do business with this shop. Aside from being incompetent, they are insulting to the intelligence of anyone who's been doing this a while. I had a private lesson with Ray Holcomb and absolutely loved it. He is a very good instructor and took the time to explain to me what I was doing wrong every couple of shots, which was very helpful. He brought out very specific nuances that I was doing when shooting and by the end of the session, I was consistently shooting rounds at the target area with his help. He is very encouraging and approachable too. TSS is a very clean and safe facility, too. I always enjoy my time there. read more

Worse experience ever, purchased a suppressor in-store. I beforehand completed my Silencershop profile and atf accounts as directed. All my information was correct and verified 100% with both before i even made the purchase. This is where everything goes downhill , the nfa guy made a mistake on my account email when filing the paperwork i found out because after waiting 2 weeks for the certification appointment phone call from TSS i reached out and called them. Well at first this guy that does the NFA transactions is Rude,Condescending,Nasty and totally full of himself and this is putting it lightly! His first action was to Blame me saying i did not complete my silencershop profile correctly and it was not verified,THIS was completely wrong i pulled up the dash board and verified with him that everything he was claiming was not correct as it states 100% complete And Yes it states filing as an individual at the top which was his first excuse of what the problem was. So we went a few more rounds of back and forth with his blaming and excuses when i outright told him i have already been on the phone with Silencershop and ATF to confirm my information was 100% accepted and verified he then tried to back peddle and say i provided him the wrong email and he would have to fix it which is going to take an extended amount of time, well at this point he sent a email to a man named Wil at silencer shop claiming i gave a incorrect email well i responded to the email with screen shots of Proof all my information is correct and 100% verified and that the issue is due to his mistake at that point he said i will have to wait for the silencershop to fix it well i contacted them this morning and guess what it is the Dealer i purchased the item from responsibility to fix the issue that they created when they filed my paperwork incorrectly. Shortly after finding this out a different person from target shooting solutions contacted me to apologize for the way i was treated by another employee and that he overheard the conversation completely and was upset at the treatment I received at his store by his general manager and unfortunately, he is unable to help me because there is only one person that deals with the transfer of these items and informed me that there is going to be an extended delay on my paperwork being corrected because this individual decided to take a vacation for another week. I would like a manager owner or representative of the company to contact me to find out how we are going to resolve this situation in a timely manner before I am forced to take legal action. read more

The range is a beautiful facility with a very friendly staff. I am preparing to become an NRA pistol instructor and have had the pleasure of several private lessons with Ray Holcomb, who has improved my abilities immensely. Ray has a lot of experience from his years with the FBI and has taught me extremely practical and effective techniques. I have seven years of shooting experience and have been to many tactical schools, but despite this, I have benefited greatly from training with Ray, who has been extremely patient and gracious and has impressed me immensely. Very nice shooting range with extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. I brought my son in law and 4 of his best friends visiting from Belgium in for some instruction and then target practice. We started with some instruction and simulator training. Then picked out some pistols and rifles to test out on the range. The range master was great and had universal high praise from the entire group. everyone had a great time trying out several pistols and rifles. I was impressed with the number of staff members on site and the focuss on safety without being over bearing. I spent a couple of hours in the store and lounge area while my guests were shooting and was impressed with how the staff interacted with customers. I had never shot a gun and when I went into the store Chris was very helpful in selecting a gun. He also advised, before I bought a gun that I take a shooting class. I toke his advise and had a gun lesson with Ray Holcomb. He was incredible. Ray took the time to talk about the importance of safety and the philosophy of using a gun. I am so glad that I had Ray as my instructor. He was hands on and really helped me to get comfortable with shooting my gun. I used to love this place. This place has the potential to be amazing, but their customer service is severely lacking unless you're buying something in-store or just using the range. Note: if you do use this range, just do yourself a favor and don't venture into their retail area. The range IS gorgeous, and it's one of the nicest indoor ranges I've visited in the area. They offer a lot of cool stuff and virtual trainings that I had really been looking forward to checking out. I just can't give the company any more money. At first, I thought the bad customer service was just a one-off, (everybody has bad days, and I'm usually really easygoing about retail-hell workers in general) but after a couple times of attempting to use their FFL for an online purchase, twice I was told that even though my purchase had arrived, they made me wait until the next business day to pick it up when that isn't listed anywhere as policy and hadn't been an issue in the past. Another time the guy made me feel like I was unwelcome because I didn't buy anything from their store... the list goes on. Clearly these experiences are more common than I'd hoped, but employees at the range portion were always sweet, informative, and helpful, so I continued to give TSS my business. With the pandemic changing a lot of things, I called yesterday to ensure they were doing personal transfers. I was told that they had limited hours but confirmed they were indeed doing personal transfers and that if I arrived at least an hour before closing that they would be able to complete it, even as soon as the same business day (so, no appointment necessary.) Today, I drove an hour to their FFL for the personal transfer and was told (by whom I can only assume was the manager or perhaps the owner-- he didn't offer his name) that they made the decision over a week ago that no personal transfers would be completed. I asked why I was told false/incorrect information, and he said that it was "in an email to all his employees, only 4 guys were currently working there, and all of them were full time employees." He made it seem as though I was simply mistaken and must've misheard, though it's hard to misunderstand "Yep! We're doing personal transfers, we close at 4 though so you'll have to get here before 3 if you wanna get it done today!" There was no reason to be short or nasty, even taking into account the added stress from the pandemic situation. I understand miscommunications happen, but to not even offer a "Sorry for the misunderstanding, we hope you'll come back and see us when we start them up again" was rude, and unfortunately was the straw that broke the camel's back after my other negative experiences. read more

During a visit at TSS I went to TSS on 9/17/2023 with a friend who was in the market of purchasing a firearm and knew that I was a gun enthusiast. During this visit and my buddy and I were firing several styles of firearms. I also have a SIRT pistol to practice. I was approached by CRAIG and giving a subtle gesture to follow him.. in which I did. We walked to the hallway and he asked me was I an instructor and I asked why.... And he stated the same thing. At that point I can see the seriousness of his face and I asked why. He said "you have a SIRT pistol" and I said "which you can buy anywhere or on Amazon". He stared at me as if I was either not tell the truth or under interrogation or something. I commenced to introduce myself... and he just stared and said "as you were then" and I said "excuse me" and he said "as you were". So I said; I have been coming here for years with my friends or family members and have used this SIRT and now it's an issue... and he said again "as you wee then." I cleaned my lane; grabbed my things and left immediately. as mentioned; I've been coming here for years; a US Marine Veteran and a hardworking citizen in Corp world and this experience was absolutely atrocious and I will never return here again. TSS is a great place operated by professionals to safely learn and operate firearms. Their training courses and instructors are professional and excellent. I have taken courses on basic operation for handguns as well as AR's. The classroom setting followed by using their indoor range for practical experience. I have take a private training session with Ray Holcomb to improve my accuracy. Ray made a few adjustments in my grip, aim, and trigger method and I could see the results immediately. Haven't checked out the range so nothing to say about that. I went in looking for some set screws for a gas block. Noticed a nice brace for a pistol and almost bought it, but checked online and see most places are selling it for $20 less. First strike. Looking at optics. See a holosun I have been wanting, it's $100 more than at my local hardware store. Also, they didn't have set screws. They had all sorts of ar replacement parts and upgrades, but no set screws. You'd have to buy a whole new gas block. read more

First time visiting, was very pleased. They had a good selection of firearms to purchase as well as rent. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. And the shooting range was clean and well managed. The envoronment was very bright and well lit, which i hardly noticed while i was there but keeps a lasting image in my mind after leaving. Their range is ok. Range officers are nice and never a problem with them. Their management on the other hand is another story. We took an AR To the shop to get a new hand rail on it. First of all it took them a month to do such a simple thing. Secondly the messed the gun up so bad that it is now unusable. They bent the gas tube, cut off the muzzle and messed up the threading on that, chipped the bolt carrier, and drilled out the detint pin. Not even sure why they were messing with the other parts of the gun when they should have just been replacing the hand rail. Nonetheless we told them that they messed the gun up and and they straight up told us that we are liars. We used the gun at the range the night we gave it to them to put the hand rail on and when we got it back it was unusable. So the damage was not on our part. The way that management handled the situation was absurd, they told us they weren't going to fix anything but they retreaded the barrel. They were cussing at as and told us to never bring the gun back here because they weren't going to fix it. If your looking to get work done on your gun I don't suggest taking it here, because if they mess it up they won't fix it. Nobody in the world has any regard for anyone else. I will never be going there again and neither with any of my friends and family. Just the worst experience we've ever had read more

This is my first time visiting to a shooting place and i went 05/01/2017 with my wife and my first experience was wonderful. We purchased it from Groupon..initially we spent like 15 mins watching safety videos and signing papers. They help you if your first time for shooting..and you get to choose any gun. This place is well lit and very clean. inside shooting range we were little nervous from big caliber guns but our range office CHRIS was a wonderful guy explained us everything and helped us get comfortable and we had wonderful time. i will be coming back again. The range itself is excellent, and the RSOs are very courteous. I am a member here and have been going every week since the beginning of 2023. They are normally open until 8pm, with the range closing 20 minutes prior at 7:30pm. This worked well during the summertime, and I quite enjoyed being able to go several times a week to shoot. However I have not been able to go as often since the owner instituted a very strange change to their operating hours for the winter. He has decided to close the place at 7:00pm, which means that the range closes at 6:30pm. Most people work until 5:00 pm, then go home first to grab their guns and head to the range. If you take into account travel time, this winter closing at 7, range at 6:30, you have almost zero opportunity to actually use the range. This makes no sense as the busiest time of the year for an indoor range is fall/winter when the weather turns bad making outdoor ranges less accessible. If he is trying to save money by reducing hours, why not do this during the spring/summer times when people are more likely to use outdoor ranges during the nicer weather. He is not only penalizing members and non-members who would like to use the range, he is cutting off his nose to spite his face by reducing his income potential during the time people are most likely to use his facilities. read more

RE: Harassment/Hostile Environment Brent Smeltzer DATE: 6-19-2019 On June 19 2019 at 14:17 I entered TSS and met with a group of African American guest three of which were there to shoot and one for me to observe, not instruct observe in the range area to witness safe operation and handling of a firearm. The range was empty, with approximately three other guest at the time. I was instructed that my waiver had expired, and the young lady very politely ask me to complete a new one. As I was completing the form, Brent Smeltzer who I had no interaction, eye contact or conversation with at the time, yelled, "YOU ARE NOT GOING IN THE RANGE IF YOU ARE INSTRUCTING!" I continued to complete the waiver, and responded that I was shooting and would be observing. He continued to hostilely insist that I was instructing. It was clear from the onset that he had an issue with not only me, but the group of African Americans as a whole. As they selected firearms and targets with the Groupon, he appeared agitated, as another lady entered to use the range, which I invited her to solely for the purpose of observation, he confronted her, ask her why she was there, and any affiliation with me. She explained that she was there to practice and demonstrate safe pistol operation techniques. After his confrontation with her, he angrily shouted at me, YOU'RE NOT GOING IN THE RANGE! I replied, "really is this what we're doing today?" He walked away from me and I explained to my group that I would not be entering the facility with them, and proceeded to exit to the parking lot, where I conversed with other family members. I have been a client and always felt respected and welcome at the establishment, I have recommended the facility to family friends and other NRA instructors. This experience has dimmed my view and if this is representative of your business practices, as exhibited by a manager I will cease to be a customer. If he truly felt that I was acting in a capacity that was not allowed, surely a respectful conversation versus yelling at me in a public forum as witnessed by others would have been received appropriately. At no time was I disrespectful, nor did I respond in anger in an effort to de- escalate any further aggressions from I left the interior of the building. Brian continued to harass the group in the range area, by peering and continuing to watch the shooters, and this was explained to me it was not in a manner of the capacity of a range safety officer. When the group completed the session we met up in the parking lot, and conversed. Shortly after they came out, Brent proceeded to approach me in the parking lot at my car, in a harassing manner and throw a screenshot of my website at me, why? I had left the building, we had no interactions for at least an hour at this point. In my mind it was over. Let me be clear, I do not, nor have I held any class or instruction at the facility, as I have my own office to conduct business. From a business perspective, I cannot understand why during a downtime such effort was made by a manager to dissuade business. I have reviewed the waiver, range instructions, store policy and privacy policy. At no point are there any restrictions that would NOT allow me to be in the range area as an observer or instructor. If this is a policy surely, it must be applied to ALL that would fall into that class. In this case, there was a policy enacted by your manager that were applied ONLY to me. It is a fine line between justifiable denial of services and discriminatory practices. Brent stated that there was a note in my file that I was an instructor, I have no issue with that as long as it is a practice applied to every instructor. I have reviewed your policies and practices and have complied with all of them. Such notations would be a violation of your privacy practice as it pertains to my personal information, as well as him accessing my phone number and email address to search for my website; None of which have an impact of my experience at TSS, and threatening me with correspondence from attorneys. I have been a client, and am not interested in any form of litigation; perhaps this is a coachable occurrence and training as it regards to customer service can improve relations in the future. I believe at a minimum, an apology is due. MANAGEMENT NEVER RESPONDED...STOP PATRONIZING BUSINESSES THAT DON'T RESPECT US! read more

This is a very good gun/rifle range. It is clean, the lanes are well lit, the staff are extremely helpful and polite. While I bring my own guns to shoot, they have a very diverse selection of firearms for you to rent. While I am no stranger to firearms/shooting, my girlfriend is and she felt very comfortable, especially with the large percentage of female employees. They offer training classes for all experience levels including ones just for females. It's refreshing to have staff who appear to genuinely want to assist you. Unlike another target range nearby who have employees just waiting for you to ask a "stupid" question or use the wrong terminology so they can correct you in a condescending manor. There is none of that here. It's a little farther from me than that other range but it is well worth the trip. To sum it all up: This is a great place for all levels of shooters. read more

We went here on a recommendation of a friend, and we couldn't be more happy with TSS. The staff immediately greeted us and everyone was extremely polite. We rented a lot of their big bore stuff like the barrett 50 cal and 500 s and w, which aren't available at many indoor ranges in the northeast. The 50 cal was amazing to shoot, and they give you instructions with everything, so it's very easy. The environment that they provided was extremely polite, patient, and supportive. At no time did they make you feel stupid for asking a question or to go over something one more time. Some other ranges act like asking a question is akin to asking them for their leg, but not TSS. The staff were so helpful that even my wife, who has never shot anything heavier than an ak, felt comfortable trying a shot from the 50 cal. I think that says a lot right there about TSS. The prices were very reasonable, and even though you have to use their ammo if you rent a gun, the ammo prices were very fair. We have been to a good number of ranges, and TSS was by far the best from start to finish. We drove 3 hours to come to TSS and it was totally worth it. We will definitely be back. read more

I went for the Women On Target pistol class. My first impression of the store was that it was a very clean, organized, and large facility. It's situated on a scenic road in Pennsylvania, right over the Delaware state line in Avondale. Before that day, I'd never shot a gun before. I had been interested in learning for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. We were initially situated in a classroom, and for about 3 and a half hours we learned all about gun safety and proper handling. There were about 25 of us. The instructor, Robin, was very warm and welcoming. We were also joined by a few other firearm experts who were equally kind and willing to answer all questions. After the classroom portion, we split into 2 smaller groups and headed out on the range. There, I was partnered with a volunteer safety officer who stood by my side the entire time. He showed me how to load the gun, the proper grip, and how to shoot. My nervousness went away after firing a few rounds. Overall, I wish I'd gotten more range time. But I understand the importance of the classroom time as well. I will absolutely be back soon to shoot again. I used a $50 range Groupon for 2 for my second time and was very disappointed. We used 4 guns in total and bought two boxes of ammo and the bill with the Groupon came to $72. In total, a $122 1 hour range visit (which is outrageous). They explained that now they charge $15 for guns to be switched out (despite being free the first time that I came). I asked the manager and he just shrugged. It really shows the business sense here. You don't make money on 1st or 2nd transaction, you make in on transaction 3-50. I won't be back. read more

i've been a member at this range since they opened. A membership was $299 that was high but the range was new and it's a beautiful range. A few years later it's up to $500 for membership. Don't go here. My previous trips usually ran around $150-$200 a pop. I live over an hour away. I needed to break in a shotgun so I needed to use lighter loads than 00 or slugs. I called them the night before and was told 00 or slugs only. I explained what my situation was to the young woman on the phone. She put the phone down to check and I could hear the conversation. The gentleman she was speaking with told her that my ammunition was ok to shoot there. She came back on and reiterated is statement. Fast forward to the next day, I arrive at their location after having driven an hour and the young man behind the counter tells me 00 or slugs only. I explain the phone call and he asks an older woman there. She tells me 00 or slugs only. She offers to sell me a box (20-25). I tell her the manufacturer says you can't fire that during the break in period. This requires 50-100 rounds to be fired initially. She tells me she can't sell me that many, totally ignoring the fact that I JUST TOLD HER that size shot cannot go through it during the break in. Now driving another hour. Total trip was 2 hours, 80 miles. Either these people are idiots and don't know ammunition or they're trying a bait and switch tactic to sell their ammunition. Either way, avoid the place. read more

My buddy and I went there today 12-4-16. It was a Sunday and we did not have to wait for 2 lanes next to each other. Since it was our first time here, we had to see a video and sign several forms before we got to shoot. The entire establishment was bright and clean. The prices for range rental was a good price ($20/lane). The people that work here seem knowledgeable and are very friendly. I will definitely be returning. A few things to know: they can rent you anything (including a 50 cal), but if you are serious about shooting, bring your own eye and ear protection. They have plenty of lanes to shoot, but some people are shooting some BIG caliber weapons, so you may have to go back and request another lane if your neighbor is too loud. Expect to add an extra 10 mins to the first visit to do the paperwork/video. read more
