I've always wanted to learn basic gun safety and usage, but never had the chance growing up, so coming here was definitely the highlight of my vacation! My brother heard about this new range online and offered to teach me while he visited over the holidays. We were greeted almost immediately, and as first time guests, we were directed to the laptops along the wall to sign digital waivers and watch a safety instruction video. Once signed in, the info was sent our emails. The waivers are good for a year in case we decide to come back. Everyone was very professional and warm for the most part. As I had never held or used a gun before, and I have small hands, the person who helped us suggested using a smaller caliber handgun (I think it was a Sig Sauer P322 chambered in .22lr). The RSO that day was really nice and helped us out right away when it jammed. Later on, we rented a Sig Sauer P320 chambered in 9mm that felt a lot better. The 9mm felt more solid in general, even with a little more recoil. I also had better accuracy with it too. Even though there were less rounds for it, I personally believe it was the better bang for the buck, so to speak. If you're renting guns, you need to bring a buddy along. There's a 2 person policy for that, unless you're bringing your own equipment. Not sure if you can bring your own ammo too, but if not, you can purchase ammo at the front desk. You can't miss it. In our experience, someone was always around to help or answer questions if needed. Ear and eye protection cannot by rented, so either bring your own or buy some at the front before you go in. Ammo is also pretty expensive here, as is the overall cost to use the range, but I personally think it's worth it. The facilities felt safe, clean, and welcoming. Really appreciated the sinks in the large room before you enter the range where there was lead-cleaning soap available. Just make sure you keep ear protection on while you're in that room as the door to the range opens suddenly sometimes as people come and go. Classes and membership packages are offered too, which I'm considering. Like archery, it can get pretty zen in there finding your focus. Just gotta save up time and money for it like any other sport or hobby. I'd look forward to going back for more practice and getting more familiar with the range. read more

This facility is very nice. The staff is knowledgeable. However, the introductory training class was not well managed. The first portion, covering basic gun safety, was good. But the range portion was very stressful and didn't seem safe. There were 14 people in the class shooting in alternating groups of seven. Virtually all had never used a gun before. Yet the instructor conducted the session like a drill for more experienced shooters. The trainees were rushed to reload and fire multiple times in rapid succession. The instructor was counting in seconds expecting the trainees to shoot on certain counts, and then proceeded to ask the shooters to hit specific spots on the target. You could see that most weren't hitting the target at all let alone specific spots on it. After the class I spoke to multiple people in my office who'd taken shooting lessons. They all said their experience at other facilities was much slower, with smaller classes and focus on just getting familiar with the gun. If you already know how to shoot this is a nice place to practice. But if you need beginner training look elsewhere. read more

Very nice, new range. Shot for an hour in a 25-yard lane, and everything was great. Will definitely go back! There is a big room between the lobby and the range stalls to wash your hands and put on hearing and eye protection. The counters are convenient for getting all your equipment/targets/ammo organized before you step into the active area. Most of the range rules are pretty standard (no steel core ammo, slug-only for shotguns, no moving uncased guns between lanes, etc.). The staff was helpful. You have to pre-pay, so make sure you know what you need ahead of time. I didn't rent any firearms, so I can't comment on that process. One suggestion for management: It might help to hang some hooks on the walls of the stalls to place long guns when they're not being used.The tables get a little crowded when you have multiple long guns. (It could also help the RSOs verify that the actions are open and chambers empty.) read more

It only took 1 visit to Main Line Armory to convince me I wanted to be a member. When it comes to the facility, they truly have thought of everything. A knowledgeable, friendly, and engaged staff make the whole experience even better. As an experienced shooter, I was looking for an indoor solution for the winter months and bad weather days all year round. I love shooting outside but Main Line Armory's facility is so first rate that I don't think I will be visiting my outdoor clubs nearly as much. read more

My husband and I decided to come here for our monthly date night and I'm glad we did. It was very nice and welcoming inside. We came on a Friday evening about 2 hours before closing. We were greeted walking up towards the front desk. We had to fill out info on laptops that were set up and watch a 5 min intro safety video. We brought our own firearms as well as renting one from them, and they have many options to choose from. We entered the room with the number lanes and it was clean and well kept. We were greeted by Derrick. Derrick was down to earth and laid back. He was very helpful and held conversation with us. We also met Erinn she was so sweet and funny. She helped me a lot with hand placement and a few other tips. She was the most helpful out of all the instructors I have ever came in contact with. She asked to take a few pics for their website and they came out nice. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves, we have been trying to find a range where we want to become members and out of all the ranges we have been to Main Line Armory is at the top of the list. We definitely will be back in as well as signing up to be members. read more

First, I came to a free information session for women led by Christina. She stressed that gun safety and education were forefront in the mission of Main Line Armory. Many women feel the need for protection but are afraid of guns. Information is power and there is nothing to fear with proper education. Next, I took Ladies Pistol I and II. Excellent classes with limited enrollment so each woman gets a fair amount of 1 on 1 time in shooting lane with a female instructor. I was still not totally confident, so I took a private lesson with Mistie and that was empowering. She was patient and personable and worked with me until I was confident. Main Line Armory is a fantastic place to learn about firearms in an environment that is welcoming to women. All I want is to shoot at targets on the range, but I have a healthy respect for the danger a handgun can pose in uneducated hands. Gun safety and education are imperative. read more

Came into town for a friends birthday and group of us went to the shooting range. 5 of us in total, ended up renting two bays, received instruction / training before hand since some of us had no shooting experience. Honestly could not even remotely find one thing to complain about. Instructor was very detailed, place was extremely clean, very very very nice place, if i were closer i would be debating which membership to get. An absolutely memorable day at the range, After getting a recommendation from family, me and my dad decided to head to the armory yesterday after hearing nothing but great things. When arriving, we were met with a beautiful looking indoor facility. When walking in, you can see the array of weapons they have in their display cases along with a lot of other equipment. We went to the front desk and were asked to go fill out a quick survey form and watch a safety video. After that we put on our earmuffs and went to the range. Once getting in, we met Danny, who mind you, on his first day, was in charge of a full range and did an extremely well job at doing so. For being a first time shooter, he guided me through how to properly hold the firearm in the best manner, how to load the best, etc. this was super helpful as a first timer shooter. Without Danny, it would have been a much longer day to say the least. But thanks to his help we we were able to have a much more enjoyable time at the range. This range is perfect. Whether it be for the first time shooter, to a seasoned professional trying to get some more range time in, it's got everything. Especial thanks to Danny for teaching me a lot of techniques and general safety measures which will only help me in the future. read more

Upscale atmosphere with brand new everything. The staff and the majority of the clientele are also decent/courteous. Nice selection of guns and related products. It's not the cheapest deal around due to the area and facility, but if you want to shoot in a clean environment, while using state of the art equipment in a nice/safe area, this place can't be beat. read more
