I don't have a lot of experience in gun shops, but have visited a few over the years with friends and family more knowledgeable than I. Still, the recent stop at Classic Pistols, Southampton, PA, was very positive from start to end. We were there because my wife had been asking for protection for several months due to her work at a local casino. The night shift had her leaving the job at 4 in the morning, and the walk to the car in the huge parking lot, and drive home itself through some of the more degenerate parts of Bucks County had her spooked. Also, she had witnessed bad behavior even in the casino from people who had problems with Asians. I figured we'd shop enough to see what she was comfortable with (smaller handgun, hidden carry), and learn more about the possibilities. Our guide for the next hour was a very friendly, straight forward and knowledgeable dude, who understood she was a rank beginner who needed patience and time to absorb what she was hearing. We started with two or three compact 9 mm automatics and quickly realized that she couldn't pull the trigger with one hand/finger. She wasn't strong enough. We moved over to small revolvers. Cute, but still way beyond her strength. Lastly, we moved down to .308s, slightly smaller than the 9s, but again impossible for her to manage. By this point our game salesman declared failure and gently recommended she get training in gun use and exercise her hands and arms enough to handle the basics. My wife went to classic pistol recently, she was looking to buy her first gun. From the moment she walked into this establishment, she was ignored by the staff. Eventually a heavyset guy with reddish hair and a larger than normal head asked her if he could help her. According to her he was not at all helpful and was not really interested in selling her anything. He acted like he knew everything but couldn't answer simple questions from a first time buyer. After some time she felt awkward dealing with someone who came across as demeaning to her as a female. She left the store and headed to Richboro and bought a gun from a very knowledgeable young man who was very polite and helpful. I believe the store is called Horizon shooting arms. Classic pistol is an anti woman business. LADIES, go elsewhere. Don't be put down by the men at this business. read more

Ran Classic Pistol's Action Shooting night and had a blast! This is my second time running this course and would recommend it if you are looking from something a little more dynamic. This is not a tactical course, but more of a competition setup in a confined and limited space. What impressed me was Classic Pistol's instructors' priority on safety. It's a tough balanced between promoting everyone to have a good time while maintaining good situational awareness and safety and believe me these guys aren't afraid if you are violating a safety protocol. But aside that, it was a fun and casual time and in this iteration of the course we used both pistol and shotgun. The only downside is due to the limited space in the bay, you can only do so much so don't expect to have a huge IDPA sort of setup. Again, the intent is just to have fun with your fellow shooter; the group I ran with was awesome! Everyone was encouraging each other and helped out to make the process as smooth as possible (helping load magazines, cleaning brass off the floor, asking questions, etc.) I wouldn't recommend Action Shooting to beginners, but if you've been shooting for awhile and have good fundamentals, I recommend you challenge yourself while having fun doing it. read more

I'm fed up and dead set on buying a gun. When I said I wanted to rent the same gun and use their firing range, that guy refused to let me. And yet he had the nerve to try and force me to buy it! Luckily, I saw it in a magazine with good reviews, but it's outrageous how he treated me. The other employees are fine, but that guy--can't even remember his name--has been a problem every time I'm there. Every time I fire in their range, he's there, acting like a gatekeeper. read more

My wife and I took a gun safety class together at Classic Pistol. Our instructor, Rick, was absolutely outstanding! While I am comfortable handling weapons, my wife was a novice. Rick took his time explaining the parts of the weapon, how to hold and aim the weapon and most of all HOW TO BE SAFE with a weapon. I have over 30 years in the Army and he provided the BEST small class instruction in weapons I ever had. I had the best experience here. During Covid 19, gun store staff and owners have been running frantic due to ammo and firearm shortage. The arrogance and disrespect, as if they are doing you a favor or service - has discouraged many from buying. As a gun enthusiast, NRA member, and USCCA member - I have nothing but great things to say. I inquired about a Glock 43, and they wrote me back on Facebook. I called in, and Chris scheduled my appt for purchase and pick up for the next morning. Background went through pics in 15 minutes. The staff I dealt with, including the young man who processed my paperwork, were all very very friendly, and made me feel welcomed. They appreciated my business. This by far, has been the best experience I've had, during the last 6 months where I've bought 4 new firearms. This will be the only gun shop I will spend money in, unless they give me a reason not to, and I don't see that happening. They even had Federal HST tactical ammo, Speer Gold Dot, for 9mm. BUYERS BEWARE! if you are buying ammo from these guys be careful, What you see for the pricing and what you get are not correct. I ordered Sig Saur 308 Vanari 10 boxes for $139.40, 8 days later 1 box of 20 rounds arrived. I called and they said sorry we will send you the 9 boxes your missing. Then Kyle called me back and said" Sorry but we cant send you that because the price was wrong on the web site and the warehouse messed up the web site. and they would refund the difference. So that means I paid $36.90 for one box of shells and waited 8 days for it and I could have purchased local for about $34.00. Now before I placed this order I called them to CONFIRM that price and they said yes that's the price and a great deal. So when Kyle Called me back to tell me he was not going to honor the price or try to make it right, I told him are you sure you want to do that? because I'm gonna write a review on how you treated a customer, He laughed and said sorry can't do it. So here we are. As of this review (1/12/2024) those same shells are still on the web site for $139.40 for 10 boxes. They are false advertising and they do not stand behind there own words. Our family comes here to target shoot (and we always rent something for fun). Two reasons we really like this place. The staff is helpful and welcoming. At some other ranges there seems to be this distance between the staff (overlords) and the public (mostly dangerous idiots). To a large part I get that ranges have to hold a high standard because you don't know who is coming in to use the facility. Unfortunately this often rubs us the wrong way. This is not the case at Classic Pistol. These guys at Classic Pistol hold a high-standard of professionalism while maintaining a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Classic Pistol is probably my favorite gun shop and shooting range there is. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. The really know their stuff and it shows. They are very helpful and they will teach you about something you are unsure of, from basic gun knowledge to actual shooting they are very helpful. The shop itself is kept immaculately clean and it is very organized. They always have a great selection of pistols and long guns from new to used. I can always find what I'm looking for. They have plenty of ammo and targets and new and used parts for builds. My wife says she likes going there because they make her feel comfortable. I agree with her. The shop is located off of a road in a warehouse complex. It is very easy to find and there is plenty of parking in their parking lot. After moving to the area and checking out several gun shops online, I visited Classic Pistol to get a feel for the shop. By far, one of the very best gun shops I've ever been too! Exemplary customer service, nice selection of accessories, and they had a ton of new and used guns in stock, plus plenty of ammo (no bulk though, but that's just the times.) Ended up purchasing an UpLula and revolver speed loader. They also answered my many questions and gave great recommendations and feedback for some ideas I had. 210% buy will buy from them again and would recommend them to old and new shooters alike. My girlfriend and I signed up for lessons a while ago and had kind of forgotten that we did. I was pleasantly surprised when Rick called and reminded me that it was coming up. After confirming that we could both make it we locked in the appointment. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff and felt very welcome. The lesson started with in class instruction that covered all the safety aspects as well as the different actions and mechanics of operation. Rick was really informative and engaging with absolutely no sense of pretentiousness. His tips for changing a few things about my grip really helped and definitely showed when we got to shoot on the range. Loved the experience. I purchased my first handgun there and did my research on what gun I would want prior to picking it up. They were happy I knew what I was talking about as most of the staff are former law enforcement or military. Dealing with former or current law enforcement and military people in general are very direct when speaking and that can come off as arrogant to a some, but they know what they're talking about. Went to the range with my wife and the process was simple and smooth. They always have .45 stocked and are reasonable with prices. Not happy with service or sales. Asked questions about the gun I was interested in buying. Sales person knew very little. Seemed annoyed I didn't know some answers. Then felt rushed as I was giving it some thought. The fellow who ran my background check was the only competent one I dealt with. He was courteous and knowledgeable about the procedure. After I got home I discovered what they sold me was a discontinued 2019 model. They never mentioned that. Feel like they took advantage of a novice buyer just to make a sale. They could use a lesson from the manufacture about what they sell. Especially since they are an authorised dealer. Won't be going back to this place. read more
