Too many empty tables for such a fantastic restaurant. Manager stopped by to check on us in a very non confrontational manner. Looking forward to the lobster next time.

The bowl is usually $12.50. I ordered a half and half bowl with Marinated Tuna and Squid Salad. I continued with my half and half experience grabbing both sushi and brown rice. It was a nice to have it in the bowl; small cubes mixed between the sauces and add ons. The sweet soy and the wasabi aioli were a nice mix for the two sauces. A little sweetness and heat. Picking up my online order was quick and easy. They didn't have it ready when I got there but quickly threw it together and I was on my way to a full stomach.

The first time I went there was in 2009 on the recommendation of a friend who used to have a Japanese restaurant. With job changes, going back to school, and plunging headfirst into a turbulent new career with multiple job changes, I never got back there until 2022. And guess what? They remembered me! The staff is genuinely friendly. They remember what I like, and a few times I've described dishes that weren't on the menu--and they made them perfectly. They actually listen, and that level of care is rare. The wine and beer selection fits my tastes really well, which is a nice bonus. Every time I visit, the atmosphere is happy and relaxed. I often see other customers come in and get greeted like old friends, and it's clear this place means something to a lot of people. It's not just a meal--it's a place that lifts your mood. Okura has become one of my favorite spots. Friendly people, great food, and a warm, welcoming vibe every time.

I ordered the salmon nuggets and swai with broccoli and red potatoes. The portion sizes were HUGE, I shared it with my teenager and still had enough left over for lunch the next day. Everything was cooked perfectly. The salmon nuggets were moist, not overcooked (which is hard to get right when frying salmon), and the swai was clean and flavorful. Even after reheating the next day, the fish was still tender and juicy, not dry at all. On top of all that, the customer service was amazing; and let's be honest, that's not always the case at seafood spots. the place looked like a typical seafood spot. If you know you know.
