Just left Dick's Sporting Goods in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. The same knee brace had mismarked…read moreshelf prices from $41-$79. The salesperson who gave us the price clarification blamed customers for moving all the boxes. Then I went to buy a weighted vest from a shelf with three of the same weighted vests. The shelf read $14.99. I check out, they charge me $43. When the cashier wanted clarification from the supervisor about the price discrepancy and wanted him to honor the shelf price, the supervisor once again blamed customers. I walked back to the shelf to find the supervisor removing the shelf tag and blaming customers once again. Last time I shop there.

It took them one month to deliver the product. The delivery people were nice and they assembled the treadmill quickly and removed the box. They left. I got on the treadmill and 40 seconds later, it stopped working. Dick's didn't want to replace it, they wanted me to contact the manufacturer. I asked for a manager. Finally, they replaced it with another T101. Less than three months later, I hear a loud banging noise. This time, I contact the No Sweat Protection Plan through their website. They required all this information. Even the cashier number. It was hard to decypher becuase the receipt had faded, but finally I got them all the information they needed. I was expecting someone to come and fix the thing. After all, why else would I pay $250 for the protection plan. They process my claim and then they inform me that my Horizon T101 is still covered by the manufacturer. They gave me an 800 number. I called on a Friday, they were closed. I called on the following Tuesday and was on hold for 45 minutes. I ended up hanging up before I could speak with anyone. Long story short, almost $1,000 in the hole with no treadmill, I just purchased a better model from Best Buy because they have a service where their Geek Squad will come to the house and fix the treadmill on the spot. I'm paying $100 to have my new Horizon T101 hauled away and thrown in the garbage where it belongs.

Intro to Rock Climbing with Valley to Summit on September 18, 2022…read more This was my second trip to Chickies Rock with VTS and it was wonderful! There were only 5 of us, so plenty of time to climb. Our Guide, Bob, was so patient, engaged and informative. I learned a lot of great things that I had not known before about clothing, ropes and technique. Bob was so patient with me and was there with his " green pointer" to help me over the tough spots. You should know that I am 74 years old and tho I have climbed indoors for a few years, my stamina was not that of the youngsters who were there! Nonetheless, it was a great time! I highly recommend Valley to Summit, this being my 3 rd trip with them. They Rock!

We were scheduled to do a 1/2 day ice hike at Ricketts Glen. I had spoken to the owner Dave and…read morelet him know of my disabilities. He asked a few questions, then determined that it should be OK for me to go on the hike. Shortly before the hike we received an email from Dave saying that because of the warm weather the trip would not have as much ice as it normally does. He offered to reschedule or refund our money if we wanted, but also said we could go if we wanted. We wanted. When I got there Dave and the guides were fantastic. Very personable. They were helpful but without being intrusive. One of them carried one of my forearm canes in his backpack in case I needed it. (This was to have one hand free for the ice axe.) The hike was great. At the end of the hike I asked one of the guides if he thought I could do the repelling they offer... he conferred with the owner and the lead repeller guide, and they agreed that I would be allowed to do that in the Spring. I highly recommend Valley to Summit for a great time. I look forward to a full day ice hike in February.
