Let's start with the wings--crispy, saucy, and downright addictive. These aren't just good bar wings; these are "don't-talk-to-me-until-I'm-done" level wings. The fries? Perfectly seasoned, always hot, and basically a masterclass in bar-side potato engineering. And then there are the nachos... potentially the best in Annapolis. Piled high, layered right, and built to be shared--though you probably won't want to. If there's a nacho hall of fame, these belong in it. The beer selection is next-level. Whether you're chasing something crafty, hoppy, or just a solid classic, the lineup here is as strong as it is satisfying. The service? Top notch. The team is genuinely kind, on point, and makes you feel like a regular whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for--comfortable, laid back, and filled with nods to police and firefighters that remind you this place is built on respect and community. Heroes Pub doesn't just serve great food and drinks--it delivers a place worth coming back to, again and again.

We ordered the appetizer sampler, fish and chips, and the chicken strips. Everything was hot and crispy, cooked well, and the jalapeño poppers were my personal favorite. They also have trivia on Wednesdays which was a fun surprise!

Food - I will say that the food here is better than normal bar food - a nice little surprise. Bartenders are friendly - always - but can sometimes be overwhelmed and a little slow. I ordered a Black & Bleu Burger with fries for pickup, and overall, the experience really missed…read morethe mark for me. The service was awkward from the start. I called to place the order, and the guy couldn't hear me. When I called back, there was silence on the line until I said "hello" a few times, followed by a blunt "Yeah, what can I do for you?" slightly off-putting, but I placed the order. When I arrived, the place was empty and looked clean. The food was ready, and I was in and out quickly. As for the food: The Fries: These were excellent. They were hot, well-seasoned, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. I really enjoyed them. The Burger: This was the letdown. I got the Black & Bleu, and while the toppings (bleu cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion, brioche bun) were fresh and tasty, the meat itself was lackluster. They looked like two smash patties, but they had zero crust and absolutely no seasoning. No salt, no pepper, nothing. Honestly, if it weren't for the toppings, the burger would have been hard to eat because the meat was just plain and bland. I ate it because I was hungry, but for a "Pub and Ale House," the burger really needs to be seasoned properly. Between the awkward service and the flavorless patties, I can only give it 2 stars.

Last night, we went to Adam's Ribs restaurant in Edgewater with my niece and her husband. The 4 of…read moreus always have a great time together and it almost makes no difference where we go. But they had been talking about Adam's Ribs for a long time so it was nice to find out that their recommendation was absolutely true. Adam's Ribs is not fancy. You can understand absolutely every word that is on the menu. There is no arrogant snot-nosed hostess looking down her plastic surgery improved nose at you when you show up to eat without reservations. But here is what Adam's Ribs does have - absolutely real, home cooked food that is delicious, servings that are big enough to make you feel sick if you eat the whole thing and great service with a smile from a waiter who has clearly tried everything on the menu. Bottom line? I love this place and would go back there tonight if it was not 1 hour away from me. We started out with the full loaf of onion straws. OMG wonderful! The onions were so sweet, the breading was perfectly crispy and not oily at all. For an onion lover, there is nothing better than this appetizer. It is served with a Daniel Boone-sized knife to cut and, believe me, you will need it! This appetizer makes a full meal if you are alone. My main course was the 8 ounce sirloin, medium rare. I am telling you that my steak was fork tender and really flavorful. Perfectly done! I was so full that I could only eat half of the mashed potatoes & gravy (which are definitely worth the calories) and none of the spinach (which was so garlicky that many vampires died during its preparation). Perfect meal! The other main courses were the chicken breast, the full rack of baby back ribs and something called "if pigs could fly" platter - basically baby back ribs next to a mess of beautiful chicken wings. I love that! Everyone was so happy with the meal that we were waving the white flag. No need for dessert because we were all so damn full. The server was Charlie. He is an asset to Adam's Ribs. Friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu and the ingredients and how everything is cooked. He worked his butt off to deliver great service fast and that he did, in spades. This guy truly must love what he is doing because he is so good at his job. Bravo to Charlie! Okay, so I am reviewing the place and I have to find something negative so say. The dining room is dated, a bit sparse and there is a smell that I don't like. Mostly, I think the smell is just old restaurant. But you get used to it and, once you do, you realize that Adam's Ribs is one of the few restaurants left that serves good quality, home cooked meals with regular old fashioned American ingredients! No pretense, no airs, just great solid food that fills you up every time! I would never let some little bitty old smell get in my way for one of the great meals that I will enjoy there in the future. I recommend that you go to Adam's Ribs and you better take all your friends. You will be VERY glad you did!
