Quite possibly the slowest, most poorly managed fast food place in the state. Definitely the worst one I have ever been to. If you go here, expect a LONG wait (20+ minutes), cold food, and lazy service. For the amount of time it takes to get food here - you would be better served to order from Red Robin, R&W's, or ANY other burger joint in the Wasilla vicinity. The only plus side to fast food is that it's FAST...The Wasilla Wendy's isn't fast OR good. There are literally zero redeeming factors. This Wendy's has been consistently mismanaged for at least the last 4 years, every time I have made the mistake of going there, it has turned into a fast food fiasco. My advice is simple. Every, single, time I've gone there, it's got some problem. 1. Out of chicken for sandwiches, but do have nuggets 2. Out of burger meat 3. Lettuce recall 4. Drive thru snowed in, and not being cleaned after lobby hours closed, why stay open, you want people to walk through? 5. Out of fries 6. Out of the sauces that go on the "New" item 7. Clearly a lack of a manager. Ordered a regular cheeseburger and 2 medium fried. Waited for 20 minutes before asking what was taking so long, only to see my name gone from the order board. The response was a stare at me, then to the screen, then to the back room then back at me just to respond with a shrug. 10 minutes later I walked out with 2 chicken sliders and a medium fry to avoid waiting another 20 minutes for my cheeseburger. This Wendy's is always a disappointment. The staff treat each other like garbage, there is no communication between anyone, the drive thru is no shorter than a 20 minute wait. I pulled into the drive-through at 5:19 pm on July 2, 2018. There were six cars in front of me. Twenty-eight minutes later at 5:47 pm I drove away with my food. This is unacceptable. The cashier was polite and tried to smile at me and I told him I'm in no mood for smiles. He tried to assuage my unhappiness by offering me a free Frosty which I declined. He explained that there was only one "sandwich maker" on duty. Umm, where in God's creation was the store manager? If that store was under my management and I was short-staffed with angry customers waiting an unacceptable amount of time to order their food, you can bet your sweet behind I would be on the sandwich line helping the only sandwich maker on duty. I just wanted my food and to drive off. What is so infuriating is once my order was placed it was only a few minutes before I drove off. To wait almost half an hour just to PLACE the order is ridiculous. This isn't the first time this has happened and the time of day makes no difference. This store is poorly managed. I work in Anchorage and I've ordered food during the lunch rush at the Merrill Field or Spenard Road or New Seward and Benson Wendy's locations and the longest I ever waited in line was 7 minutes. I don't know why I went back -again. It's the frostys. Unfortunately that's the only thing they ever get right on my order. My husband usually picks up a salad and a frosty for me when he goes into Wasilla. Every and I mean EVERY time something is missing from my salad. Apple and pecan salad? Pick one- pecans or salad dressing. Cause I guarantee you one of these things will not be in the bag when he gets home. The rotten thing is we live an hour outside Wasilla. We can't just pop back for that missed item. And then you call, and they say oh, next time just tell them the manager said to give you a free salad. You stop in and said manager isn't in and there's no way to verify the free salad, so you have to pay. I'm done ranting....don't get me started on the hot nasty chicken they want to drop on top of the cold lettuce. Meh. And one last thing, yes I could get pecans and salad dressing to have on hand in case they forgot one of them, but the dang salad costs $9.
