    20 OZ ribeye
    Georgia D.

This. Place. Hits. I mean, and hard! Constantly driving back and forth from the Valley means that there's some options available for me. I live in small Eagle River so the options are limited with a few decent choices. Wasilla has some excellent little places if you keep your eyes peeled and know where to look. This restaurant is attached to the Grandview Inn and Suites. Fried pickles as an appetizer dipped in ranch was just salty enough to cure my craving and they were great. It's a pretty big order so perfect for sharing. The Mt Redoubt Lava burger has the proper amount of fire I think for people that don't enjoy things 5 * and up spicy. I snuck some fried jalapeños and I could probably eat a bowl of those alone. They were amazing! As a carnivore myself, I would have been remiss if I didn't get the 20 oz ribeye. I got fried potatoes and the brussels sprouts with bacon. This steak tapped me out. It was 3 meals in one for me. For $50 it was a great value. This place is a must do for me every chance I can get.

Pictures doesn't do this place justice. Everything is so nice and roomy. A lot of things to do besides eating and drinking. There's pool tables, a ton of dart boards just about everywhere, pull tabs, and I'm sure there's karaoke or other stuff..I just didn't ask or look further into it. Everything is updated and soo clean. The service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and didn't hover but made sure we were always taken cared of. The drink prices are more than reasonable. They have a great variety of different beers, shots and specialty drinks. Even Mocktails for those non drinkers. Families with minors are allowed to dine till 9pm only if accompanied by an adult. At 10pm no underage allowed at any time. I wish I took a picture of the sign, would've saved me the trouble. Oh well..just an FYI. The food is really good. We ordered the 10oz New York steak and everything was cooked just right. Their homemade compote butter that they put on the steaks is...incredible. The Brussel sprouts was really really good. The roasted potatoes were kind of bland but the beer cheese Mac and cheese was super delish! We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms for appetizers and it was...soooo good and soooo cheesy and sooo yummy. The portion size is very generous and you definitely get your money worth. Drinks are done perfectly. I ordered the old fashion and it was prepared the best I've ever had anywhere. The mojito had a ton of mint leaves which made it taste like zen tea lol. It wasn't too bad though. I got pretty buzzed off of the old fashion, so didn't order anything after..maybe another time. Overall..a very surprising experience and definitely worth it. We will be back and I hope you get to experience this place..even just to hang out with friends and have a good time. P.S: Great for watching sports with the buddies. There's a good amount of TV's posted around every corner.

Had the 20oz ribeye. Very good, cooked correctly. Extra for garlic bread. Hungarian mushroom soup was perfect. Potato skins appetizer was good. I'd come back.

    Alaskan philly with fries

The food wasn't fast but holy smokes was it good! Worth the wait. I had the Alaskan philly and I will definitely be back to try another variation!

Black Bean patty w/Swiss , mushrooms & bacon! Yum! Ordered Calamari as well, delicious dipping sauces!

EXCELLENT! Food was delicious! Service was excellent! My husband is on a restricted diet & it limits restaurants with fresh food options & not precooked with a lot of fillers. We scored at The Grill! Seared Ahi Tuna salad! Sweet Potato fries & I love a Black Bean Burger! Both were delicious!

This is the grills lettuce that they serve to the public.

Menu needs updated. They didn't have anything we went in looking for. The real kicker was that the website made it sound new.

We were sat immediately at about 5 ish on a Thursday. We looked over the menu and the hostess brought water for us right away. The waitress came over for drink and food orders. We ordered the regular ribeye and sodas. My husband ordered a salad and it came out about 10 min before the meal. The steaks with vegetables and mashed potato and gravy (I had these, my husband got the salad instead) and all items were sizzling hot and very good! The steaks were both cooked correctly (medium and medium rare) with good seasoning and flavor. The vegetables (broccoli, carrots, and cauliflower) were tasty, hot, and slightly crunchy (not mushy)! The potatoes and gravy were very good-tasted homemade! I also had these homemade root beer which was very good and the bread pudding. The bread pudding was moist, tasty, had cinnamon, and a rum icing - very, very good! All the servers were very friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. We would definitely eat here again! Glad we stumbled on this little gem!

The place has a beautiful rustic wood bar that's comfortable to sit at and large enough to order bunch of food. The service was very friendly as well and patient with my indecisiveness. We orders the jalapeño poppers and the Alaskan meat lovers pizza. The poppers come with 4, they are sooooooo yummy but sooooo hot lol. The meat lovers pizza was stuffed to the brim with meats. Ugh it was so yummy! But it wasn't greasy or soggy or anything: it was perfect! I highly recommend this place and will be returning!

This restaurant is light-years ahead of its predecessor, when it was only a hotel buffet. Most of…read moreour experiences have been good. But do NOT order the shrimp and scallop pasta. Even though I specifically asked for al dente, and also stressed to the waitress I'd rather the pasta is undercooked than overcooked, it came out like the typical American restaurant pasta mush that dissolves in your mouth. You should be able to bite into pasta, not feel it dissolve on your tongue - besides the fact overcooked pasta has a higher glycemic index, which contributes to overeating and weight gain, and is therefore less healthy. Additionally, it was not "topped" with sauce, but rather it looked like pasta soup. And there shouldn't be so much cheese in pasta sauce that it forms strings when you raise your fork to your mouth. Way too much Parmesan cheese, so it masked the other flavors that should have been there. Since the sauce flavor was ok (but not spectacular since the primary overwhelming flavor was the Parmesan) we boxed the rest of the sauce after I attempted to finish my overcooked and texture deficient pasta. A couple nights later we cooked a full pound of pasta (correctly) at home and were able to eat four servings with the leftover sauce! So there was enough sauce in one dish for the equivalent of five people! That's just ridiculous. So our recommendation: 1) cook the pasta correctly, 2) reduce the cheese in the sauce, 3) reduce the sauce to 20% of what you currently serve - you can serve five times as many people with the same amount of sauce, and actually drop the price of this dish to something more reasonable, and you'll still come out ahead. That's our two cents from having dined in three dozen countries, all fifty states, and having even taken cooking lessons in Italy.

Wow, a friend wanted to go here and after see the reviews I was less than excited especially after…read morelooking at the prices. What an incredible surprise. I don't know how I could give this place higher praise after the incredibly tasty meal we were served. We started with the Calamari and also the Empanadas for the table. I've had Empanadas at least 40-50 different times and locations all over the world No joke these were the tastiest ones I have ever had. I crispy initial bite followed by a soft warm/hot filling that was packed with goodness The green sauce was so good I forgot to try the whiter sauce. I would literally come back just for these as they were out of the world delicious. The calamari was tasty and prepared well not over cooked or undercooked. The chef prepared them well but my focus was on the Empanadas so I hardly ate any Calamari. Then came the entrees and I was blown away at the Seafood Linguini. The scallops & , shrimp-were perfectly cooked in a rich and creamy sauce that was Devine. It struck the perfect balance of a delicious garlic, buttery goodness with the cream. Just the right amount of sauce that every bite was covered in sauce but somehow it packed a punch of flavor in every bite. I wish tomorrow wasn't my last day in Wasilla before heading home because I could come to this place everyday I was so good. Now for the final treat, the view. Nestled on a hill overlooking this beautiful lake with mountains in the background I'm struggling to paint a picture worthy of that view. When I first arrived I thought to myself this place must survive purely on the views given the bad reviews. Not at all, even though I would put this view as my top 2-3 ever at a restaurant ( Compared to a Michelin restaurant in Cannes France overlooking the Ocean, a restaurant at the top of a mountain in Keystone Colorado, and this place all breathtaking. Having said that, I actually think the food was better than the view if that's possible. Next time I make it back to Alaska, this place will be my first stop for certain. I sure hope when I make it back in a year or two it's performing at this level because this was an experience I won't soon forget. If you're on the fence based on reviews, do yourself a favor and at least try the Empanadas or Seafood Linguini. These are unforgettable!
