They're a bit slow at service but the food is fresh and good. Can go there for a quick bite at a cheap price.

The atmosphere is casual and laid-back, making it an easy choice for a quick bite or a relaxed meal. Their menu focuses on classic favorites done right, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and satisfying portions. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak, buffalo chicken fingers, and the smash burger, and everything was absolutely delicious. The Philly cheesesteak was packed with tender, flavorful meat and melted cheese, while the buffalo chicken fingers were crispy, juicy, and perfectly coated with just the right amount of heat. The smash burger stood out with its crispy edges, juicy patty, and well-balanced toppings. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made to order. Mile High Mo's delivers solid comfort food that hits the spot, and it's definitely a place worth checking out if you're in Austin and craving something flavorful and satisfying.

To add, the last time I went here a guy employee was on his phone while I was standing at the counter waiting to grab my order. He acted like I was bothering him when no one was around at night. I didn't feel like a burger though so I got the Classic Coney hotdog which is full of Detroit style chili (thick meat chili with no beans), and loaded with red onions and shredded cheddar cheese, then topped with mustard. It was delicious and filling. It Truly was like a dog you'd get at a Coney's in Detroit, MI. IYKYK. Then I heard you had to try the latke here, so I got Bubbe's OG Latkes which is 2 round thick potato pancakes! It came with sour cream and Smutz smoky aoli sauce on the side. I tried it both ways and it was good. But really it was best with that cold creamy sour cream that goes so well with the potato flavor. They also have great drinks which are refillable for free while you dine in. And I love the chill vibe and decor. Great artwork and old photos. Very funky! I was a big fan of their sandwich restaurant on Burnet (which closed), so I'm glad I finally got to check out this spot! Great place!!

But the staff handled it really well. They were fast, apologetic, and refreshingly colloquial, not stiff or robotic, just real people taking care of customers and keeping things moving. Since fried chicken was off the table, I went with the grilled chicken, and honestly it was excellent. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and flavorful enough that it did not feel like a consolation prize. Maybe this was the universe giving my cholesterol a temporary reprieve. The collards were just okay and not the strongest part of the meal, but everything else made up for it. The restaurant itself was super clean, and you could tell this newer location is well cared for. At about two years old, it still felt sharp, polished, and well run. I've been to several Hattie B's locations over the years, including the original in Nashville, Franklin, and Atlanta, where I once saw a woman riding a horse down the street in front of the store, which remains one of the more unforgettable restaurant-adjacent moments of my life. Austin compared well with all of them. Bonus points, there was no line, so we had a quick lunch with coworkers and still made it to the airport early. Not the exact Hattie B's experience we expected, but still a very good one, and a place I'd absolutely come back to.

We ordered the Firebird chicken biscuit sandwich, and it was absolutely incredible. The spicy chicken breast was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, and the combo of fresh dill mayo, house pickles, and cilantro tied everything together so well. Every bite was bold, fresh, and seriously addictive. And the biscuits... unreal!! They were so buttery and flaky that I couldn't leave without taking some home, along with their house jam. Our daughter used to live a few minutes from the Lamar location, but we've also been to the OG Manor Road location (as we did today). I've yet to try something I didn't like, but the favorite is Bird Bird Bacon. The biscuit is all you could ask for - flaky, buttery, a bit of salt - and if you can't eat it for a little while, it's still good (not all biscuits age well - some are only good as they come out of the oven). The "bird" in this case is the egg, over medium so it doesn't run all over the place, but not dry like a hard boiled egg. The generous stack of bacon is smoky but not overly so. All together, it's an amazing sandwich. If you're hungrier, I suggest the Queen Beak or Theodore. Check the www site for details and click on the Story link too. The chicken is crunchy and fried perfectly. For me, it's a lot to eat, but I have indulged on occasion. Finally, you need to try the Dough Doughs. They're biscuit balls fried up like donuts, about 3xthe size of a donut hole and covered with cinnamon sugar. Absolutely amazing. (I've tried to replicate these at home between visits, but mine are not as good.) Go. Enjoy!!
