I'm no stranger to In-N-Out, and quite frankly, I'm a huge fan. Even as an avid Shake Shack supporter, I can 100% back In-N-Out as an equal burger spot, and sometimes even better depending on my mood. In-N-Out gets so much hate, but honestly, I think some people just don't know how to order. Since this is the only In-N-Out near the UT campus, it was absolutely packed even at 2 PM. We had to wait around for a table after ordering, but luckily, we were able to find one pretty quickly. If you're planning to eat here, definitely be prepared for a crowd. I've yet to see this location not packed with students trying to satisfy their burger cravings, so you might want to consider getting your food to go if you don't want to fight for a table. I ordered a cheeseburger with extra grilled onions and, of course, Animal Style Fries. Genuinely, if you don't order Animal Style Fries from In-N-Out, your opinion is irrelevant, whether or not you like the chain. The extra spread, grilled onions, and cheese take the normally boring and unseasoned fries to a completely different level. And of course, the peppers and extra spread on the side are absolute necessities. The burger itself was exactly what I wanted: simple, juicy, and flavorful without being overly complicated. There's a reason I keep coming back to In-N-Out, and this location definitely delivered. Overall, In-N-Out remains one of my favorite fast-food burger spots. The crowds at the UT location can be a pain, but the food is worth it. Whether you're team In-N-Out, team Shake Shack, or somehow team neither, I strongly recommend giving it a proper try and, most importantly, ordering it the right way. read more

I've been to a lot In-N-Outs and this one is pretty fast and good service for being next to a university. I've gone to eat here after a late night out and it never disappoints. I love to sit and chat with my friends here at night! Sometimes it can get crowded especially on the weekends but that should be expected and some of the students don't clean up after themselves which can be annoying. I don't think I've ever reviewed in-n-out, but, it's best I do. We went to this location twice during our week in the area, and the quality was as expected- perfect. I've never walked into an in-n-out that I was disappointed eating in, and the quality.. (yes mentioning that twice). I always get items off the "secret" menu, meaning I get animal style for everything, but.. Im ok with this, and I will continue to order animal style burgers and fries. The one complaint I would have is they did not add enough chocolate in my shake one of the times, and I thought it was vanilla. The staff said- this is chocolate, even when I opened it up to show it was white (not enough syrup added?). The second time made up for it, so Im just calling it an accidental mishap. On a recent trip to Austin, there was only one thing my son wanted as far as food goes. He wanted In-N-Out. I too wanted to see what the hype is and settle the on going battle of who reigns supreme in Texas. In-N-Out vs.Whataburger. This location was close to where we were sight seeing and was easy to find. Parking was tight, but we found a spot. The restaurant was packed so we had the kids tell us what they wanted and find a table as soon as someone got up. We ended up sitting outside in the patio area since it was the only table we could find. Now, to settle the debate. First off, I wasn't impressed with the lack of variety on the menu. Do you want a burger or a uh...burger. I need variety in my life. Yes I'm going to order a burger, but I like to know I had more choices. So we all just decided on a regular cheeseburger the way it comes, with fries and a drink. The food came out quick and looked nice and fresh. I like onions, but they put a whole thick slice that is the size of the meat patty. That first bite kinda messed up my palette for the rest of the meal. I removed some of the onion and it was a little more pleasant after. The flavor was good, but it did not wow me like my other Texas fast food favorite. The fries were plentiful and could have easily been shared with another person. Next time we will order half the fries. All in all, it was a good meal.
