Upon arrival I was greeted by a smile and I ordered double meat burger with Cajun fries and a drink. Drink and FREE peanuts were had while I waited for my hot fresh burger to be made. The burger and fries were made to order and came out HOT!!!! The food had great flavor. The tea was sweet and tasty. JA's 1/2-pound burger & fries costs $14.99--what am I missing? Oh, and JA's will serve you sweet potato fries instead for no extra charge, and even let you substitute a salad. The meat at 5guys is good; the bread is fresh and good; but the last time I ate there they served me a white lettuce heel for the 'lettuce', and two silver-dollar-size tomato heels for the 'tomato'--NOT WORTH IT! The idea of charging $7.69 for a fistful of french fries speaks for itself. If you don't want to upgrade your experience at Jack Allen's Kitchen (and also save money!), there's always In-N-Out, or P Terry's, or Culver's down the street: each of these places is at least as good as 5guys, and at a fraction of the price. Went to Five Guys last night for the first time, and the last. I ordered a grilled cheese. Simple, right? I got a sandwich with two pieces of cheese, unmelted on two pieces of bread that were barely toasted. All of this for nearly 7 dollars. I walked it back up to the counter and asked if they could please melt the cheese. They refused to take the sandwich and said "we will make you another one". Been here many times and yesterday, the indoor dining area was filthy. Every single table had food waste and trash on them, as well as on the floor. We immediately choose to eat outside on one of the outdoor tables. It turned out to be too windy for that so we chose to sit in our recently detailed car instead of sitting inside. I love me some Five Guys! It's a great place to grab take-out, which I often do on my way home from work and this is a great location. The parking is easy and it's next door to Tiff's Treats! My favorite thing about Five Guys is the value. They are generous with their delicious fries and we always get the Cajun fries. A large could probably feed a family of 4! I also love that they do not charge of toppings because I LOVE toppings. (Toppings and sauces are my vices) I usually get a hot dog or grilled cheese, all the way. My husband usually gets the cheeseburger plain (I guess opposites do attract, haha) Everything is freshly made to order and piping hot, even by the time we get home. I think it's a great alternative to fast food because honestly, the cost of fast food is increasing and Five Guys is not any more expensive than getting a Combo at a fast food joint, but much more filling. I'd highly recommend Five Guys over other fast food alternatives. I came to this location this past week because the line for the P. Terry's down the road was longer than the line for a roller coaster at Six Flags. A burger is a burger, right? Wrong. It was my first time at Five Guys so I was a bit surprised to discover that the burgers run about ten bucks. I wasn't dissuaded though. Mostly because I was already there and hungry, but I actually don't mind paying a premium for fast food provided you get a high quality product in return. I ordered a cheeseburger with all the fixings and a side of fries to-go. Well, as you might have guessed from my two-stars, it could've been better. In a nutshell, they served me a soggy bun. I mean, they served me a "gooey mushy disintegrating around the entire periphery of the sandwich" soggy bun. That is straight up burger blasphemy. One of the worst buzz-kills you can inflict on a burger eating experience. And for anyone who may be wondering about the to-go time differential, the burger was unwrapped about five minutes after leaving the restaurant. I'm not giving them a one-star because the customer service was ok, it's always nice to have the option of adding grilled mushrooms and onions (which they have there), and the fries are pretty good (if a tad too salty). The mucky mess of a bun aside, the burger was relatively decent, too. Ten dollars good? Uhm, no. It's way better than McDonald's but for the price point, it's not way better than In-N-Out or P Terry's. I should note for all you meat lovers out there that you do get a whole lot of cow in their burgers, so if you're more about quantity than quality, you might still wanna give this place a try...but byob (bring your own bun). Something here has changed. I have been frequenting this location for almost 2 years now (as I am a manager at a business on the same strip), as someone who has major health problems and very limited food choices. I was very disappointed in the service I received today. I have ALWAYS been able to get fries with no seasoning and double fried/cooked a little longer, they just sit better when cooked that way. Strangely enough when I went in tonight, the MOD Will, said it is a company policy that they can not double fry or extra cook their french fries. Weird as not a single manager or employee before has ever made that comment. I have frequented this location for quite some time, and after the attitude & comments of the "manager" I would never recommend or go there again. I mean the fries were some of the best tasting fries I've had but they are literally the most expensive fries I've ever had too. HAT CREEK has burgers for 4 dollars, you can get an entire whatburger meal , burger , fries, and a drink all for less then just the price of a burger here. I mean $20 bucks for 1 burger and 1 order of fries. It's crazy because if it was slightly more reasonable prices we would eat here maybe 5X more per month but now because I remember how over priced it is , I won't be going back at all. Five Guys was a last minute replacement when my favorite JITB down the road was closed for major repairs. Brittany was most helpful in explaining the burger sizes and options when I told her I was a first time customer. She was incredibly patient and cheerful as I ordered three burgers, each uniquely provisioned, most unlike any fast food counter staff I have ever encountered. She offered a free cup fo water while I waited for my to-go order. I was told it would be a 7 minute wait, but I'd swear it was less than 5 minutes. I barely had time to get my cup of water and snack on a few complimentary peanuts before my order was ready and my number was called. I was initially chagrined when I saw fries being unceremoneiously dumped in the order bag. Only later did I realize that a extra fries were being thrown in for lagniappe by a generous manager. Unfortunately, that made the bag a bit of a greasy mess to deal with in the car, but, luckily, I had an absorbent pad handy to pinch hit. When I arrived home, all found the burgers to be very tasty and satisfying. Even though we "only" got the single burger, it was more than filling. I had a very hard time doling out the fries from the single, large order and wound up eating most of them myself. Sadly, I have to say I'm not a fan of their style of fries, and that' s one dealbreaker, along with the inability to order a milkshake.
