What is going on at this Wendy's? How can a fast food place be SO bad? I have eaten at this location multiple times over the past year, hoping that I can give them a second chance, but each time I go I am seriously disappointed. The drive through line is always insanely long, not because of all the traffic, but because it takes 10 years for them to get a single car out. I have never witnessed a slower 'fast food' restaurant. Besides the long wait times, the food itself has been consistently terrible! Stale, burnt, greasy, you name it. The employees seem to be screwing around each time I go, and have even made inappropriate comments and gestures on my last visit. Is there seriously nobody else in this community to hire? This is the worst Wendy's in Anchorage because they're dishonest about their operating hours. Don't come here unless you want to waste gas, time, and money. It's always impressive to order a Taco Salad, mind you they were out of the other salads on the menu. Get home to find they they forgot half the salad. Taco salad in the eyes of Wendy's is a pile of lettuce and cheese. Don't worry about making a mess with the chips, salsa or any type of dressing, because it's not included. read more

4 out of the 5 people crowded around the drive thru delivery window had their noses hanging out of their face masks. When I asked for straws for our drinks, the main person waiting on us actually pulled her face mask down to her chin to talk to me. I think something in the health code training was missed. I hadn't been here in a while so I stopped by late Saturday afternoon around dinner-time for a hamburger. Pretty pathetic! Place was nearly empty. Only one other customer besides myself. This should have been a red flag to me, but I soldiered on. I ordered a single hamburger with lettuce, tomato and onion, with medium fries and a soda. The "gourmet" price was over $9.00. Boy, did I get screwed! Should have gone to McDonalds. There must be a shortage of fresh vegetables shortage out there! One tiny leaf of limp lettuce that didn't even cover the hamburger! And, one onion ring . . . not a whole slice but one ring! And, the tomato was sliced very thin and barely two inches in diameter! Not sure how these folks can serve this stuff with a straight face! And, how come they don't have hamburgers on the menu priced without cheese . . . which would normally be fifty cents to a dollar cheaper? All hamburgers are priced with cheese. They asked me if I wanted cheese and I said no. But, same price! Based on other reviews here and my experience, I'd say this place needs some ownership attention. Although the food was good, (I ordered a taco salad, my usual at a Wendy's Restaurant) The manager on duty was rude and very mean by screaming at one single employee. My problem with this is the fact she was so loud that you heard her clear as day in the dining room. You should never treat your employees that way....EVER. I've worked in my fair share of fast food establishments and if ANY of my managers ever treated me like that I'd quit in a heartbeat. You don't scream at your employees about forgetting a tomato or cheese on a burger & slam things around or hit your work are out of anger. It doesn't make for a pleasant work environment nor a pleasant place to eat at as you sit back and listen to it happening. Calmly talk to your employee & help them succeed. This Wendy's has been plagued with problems for as long as I can remember. And by looking down at some of the reviews it seems to be a fairly consistent problem. It's management team lacks the ability or know how to actively participate in running the store and the employees have no or very little engagement when serving the customers without crossing the line over into "robotic". I spent a little under 10 minutes in the D/T line with 1 car ahead of me at the pick-up window. When I arrived at the window myself, it took the cashier a little over a minute to even acknowledge that I was there. :( Service people! It's what a QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) is all about! When I finally received my food a quick check of my bag looked good as I drove off...........or so I thought!!!! When I got home and unpacked the meals I was missing my order of nuggets and my Son-of-baconator burger which I had ordered with no cheese had come with well yes, you guessed it!!!! CHEESE! We end up going to Wendy's a fair amount for quick kids snacks when hunger emergency happens in south anchorage. This place never gets it right!!! It's totally nuts that they always screw up the order. it's almost like they're joking. They forget sauce, forget to throw in one of our sandwiches, etc. Following our recent zoo trip I asked the staff to triple check that they'd given me straws for kids' frosties (that's all I had ordered). OMG!! This is thee worst Wendy's in Anch!! I'm not even exaggerating! SO many times I had to go back for food that wasn't given to me or not enough food! Tonight right before closing time, I drove through and ordered 2- 10 piece chicken nugget meals. And 10 piece chicken nuggets with 2 cheese sauce. I specifically asked them to fill up my cheese sauce all the way full. Ordered some BBQ, sweet and sour and Ranch for the chicken nuggets. I came home and noticed my receipt wasn't in my bag AGAIN. One chicken meal was missing a nugget, so there were 9 pcs. I was missing my other 10 PC nuggets!! Out of 30 nuggets, I only got 19 PCs. And both my cheese sauce wasn't filled to the top as usual even though I had asked them to, as I usually do! Before I drive off, I usually check my bags to make sure I got everything I had asked for, but I was in a rush, so I drove away. EVERY Dam TIME Im always telling them they fkd up my order again. Stopped in to pick up late Sunday dinner while finishing Sunday chores. I almost instantly regretted going through the drive through. Five cars ahead of me and it took almost 20 minutes. They didn't have the salad I wanted so I ordered alternates for me and my husband. He took the Caesar and I took the Mediterranean. I fear that this Wendy's location is struggling. I have not had the best of luck the last 2 times I have come here. About two weeks ago I went through the drive-thru for my order and had to wait quite some time. They ran my card and handed it back to me...they then said that they needed my card back because it did not run through there system...this struck me odd so I made sure to watch my card statement and low and behold they charged my card twice. I ended up calling the manager to let him know that I was charged twice. They told me to come in with the card I purchased my meal with and they would credit it. They did not ask for any proof or anything which struck me odd as anyone could basically go in there and say they were charged twice and get a refund which is scary as sadly there are numerous individuals who are dishonest. At any rate I had my statement with me just in case I needed it. I was with my friend when I went back in as she was hungry so she ordered something and her total came to about $4. She paid with a $20 and was given only 6 back...she was like "ummm I paid with a $20" and the guy laughed and said "whoops." When she got her stuff straightened out and got the correct change for her order, I kindly asked to speak with a manager to be issued my credit. The manager comes up and asks what I ordered, so I told him. However he typed it up, the refund total came to $11.58 instead of my original $12.37 total. He asked for my card and I said, "well I want to be credit for what I paid and not less" and he was like "ok," and he hit a couple more buttons and then the total came to $12.98 for the refund, which would give me more than what I paid, which I didn't want either. In the end he got it figured out, but not without me having to pay quite a bit of attention and my time for a mistake that was not mine from the start. So in the end I just want to inform patrons who go to this location to be careful and make sure they are not charged twice or given incorrect change. Wendy's is a great company and I am fearful that this location is costing the company quite a bit of money from lack of training and inexperience. read more

This Wendy's has got to be one of the worst I have ever been to. The customer service is horrible and the speed of service is absolutely horrendous. Every time I go here I remember why I haven't been here in the last year or so it takes at least 20 min to even get a simple salad! Ugh! Today there weren't any customers in the store and they could not seem to get a simple salad out to me quickly. I could see all the employees in there laughing and talking and not one greeted me when I drove up I had to say hello and then not one bothered to bring me the salad I ordered. 2 stars for awkward customer service. Friend wanted Wendys again, grabbed our usual order + a double patty option for the Pretzel bacon cheeseburger. Usually head home which is pretty far out of town..but was asked if I wanted to stop for a minute to have some fries first. Of course I had to have some of those ooey-gooey cheese fries that were so yummy last time. Uh-oh..I thought as I stared down at a gloopy mess of cold cheddar cheese on top of the melted stuff. Well I tried a couple fries but knew I would need to reheat them at home..on a plate since they're served in an all-plastic tray. Then I happen to notice my friends sandwich looks like regular w.the 1 patty. Checked our receipt & we were charged for the double patty...the drive-thru gal confirmed correctly too. No biggie, but my friend had plowed through about half his burger. He had to take all his fries from in his burger container out so I could take the burger inside. When I came to the counter, about 6 or 7 employees stood around and looked astonished when I was able to get their attention & explain what happened. This younger gal leans on the counter staring over the burger and gross cold cheese fries, then states ''we'll have to talk to the manager''. I pushed the fries away & asked for the correct burger then. They all got scared and gave me the silent treatment. The manager woman went to make the burger w another gal & I kept a close eye on them as there was 'hush-talk' going on. They made no eye contact, all except a kind, quiet kid who was new at the register who offered a small frostie for my trouble (which I said no thanks).
