... I'm still thinking about the tater tots! I find a lot of places make them soggy or don't make them crunchy enough, but not Main Event Grill! XD The environment and service were really good too... but man the tater tots were perfect read more

The food is amazing butt it's just so weird how a piss poor attitude or the LACK of any kind of personality can ruin a burger. The female taking our order and giving attitude like we added that on the our burgers really needs to learn what customer service is all about. Wish I could have made change in HER tip jar. She NEEDS the negative stars version of this app. read more

I have used Main Event Catering for several board meetings, and they have always been reliable. The food is consistently good and they always arrive on time. The staff is also friendly and efficient when setting everything up. Most recently, they were flexible when I realized that I had missed a detail in the contract. This made things much easier for me. I really appreciated their willingness to work with me. Based on my experiences, I'd definitely recommend Main Event Catering for anyone looking for dependable catering. read more

The best garlic fries! Their burgers are good but seriously come for the garlic fries and signature sauce!

The Main Event has plenty of parking and addition event space aside from the sit-down or takeout option. The event space was in action during my visit. Didn't seem that exciting more like a group watching grass grow. Yawn! I ordered the garlic burger and garlic tots. Not sure what was off. Taste was off with a kind of sweet and um can't put my finger on it. Ended up tossing 75% of the meal in the trash. Don't get me wrong I am a huge (HUGE) garlic fan. Tots simply had garlic salt while the burger may have been the garlic aoli that was off. Either way I just couldn't continue and had to call it quits. Not sure Maim Event will be on my return list. Sorry, just my opinion. read more

I ordered takeout for lunch earlier this week after receiving an email containing a coupon for $5 off. It was perfect timing since I had no idea where I wanted to go for lunch during my break. Main Event Grill is located behind Mr. Prime Beef off of 76th Ave and Old Seward Hwy in a non-descript shopping center that houses a bookstore and a bingo hall. This building made local news a few winters ago when the ceiling at the gym in the back caved in from an excess amount of snow that closed down all the businesses temporarily including Main Event. Fortunately, the roof was fully repaired and reinforced before all the tenants returned to work full-time. The dining room is modest size with a good amount of chairs and tables, but they have expanded their space to include an adjoining dining area for sizable parties or events. The girl at the front counter is always friendly when I come by to pick up an order. My recent order was the Garlic Burger with a side salad and blue cheese. I placed the order online and the wait was conveniently a few short minutes by the time I arrived. The Garlic Burger (roasted garlic, garlic cream sauce, and provolone cheese) is easily one of my favorite burgers in town. The burger was so delicious and you will have no trouble repelling vampires and your fellow co-workers once you return from lunch. I only wish they would make buffalo wings fried with diced garlic rather than the usual garlic parmesan variety you see around town. (The fried garlic buffalo wings was something I encountered at a sports bar I visited in North Palm Beach, FL several years ago.) At one point, they did have wings but the owner has decided to drop them from the main menu as chicken wings have gotten more expensive to place an inventory order over time. Fortunately, there are plenty of great options to pick from aside from the aforementioned Garlic Burger. Some of the items I tried from previous visits include the Reuben Grilled Cheese sandwich (Boar's Head pastrami, sweet relish, sauerkraut, Swiss and provolone cheese), the Blackened Chicken Salad (spring mix greens, feta cheese, bacon, craisins, and strawberry-rhubarb vinaigrette), the Deep Fried Halibut Burger (Alaskan halibut with pineapple coleslaw, lettuce, tomato, onion, cheddar cheese, and their Awesome Sauce), Animal Style Tots with bacon jam, nacho cheese, and Awesome Sauce, and their Peanut Butter Cheesecake (peanut butter pie filled with Reese's Pieces, chocolate, and peanut butter mousse). A 24-hour notice is required for catering and office party orders. There are featured discounts on their menu items and rotating specials with items not seen regularly on the menu shown on their website. Main Event is a solid choice for a creative burger and they also participate in the Food Truck Carnival from time to time as well as the State Fair. read more

Food is good. I have now had catering and their burgers. I enjoyed the burger but it didn't blow my socks off so I haven't been back. We had our holiday party and had turkey dinner it was good. A few dry items but not sure how long it was sitting out. Bar was fun but wow $12 for a beer kinda steep. The holiday party had a few short falls - 3 offered vodka drinks but they ran out of vodka 10 minutes into the party. I got a beer that was a chocolate raspberry it was two beers poured into one, was good but not with $12. Service was nice we had issues but they worked thru them. I will be back. Want to try it again read more

The good. The dirty soda was really good. Got the keto one. The side salad was fine. What I expected. The halibut burger though is the bad. They do give you a lot of halibut but it is very dry. Luckily I got sauces on the side so I could still eat it. But otherwise way too dry and overcooked. read more

Keto people!!! Know that you have some great options at Main Event. Most of their burgers can be ordered with either a lettuce wrap or a tasty, house made keto bun. Love that they also give you delicious and crisp steamed veggies on the side. It doesn't quite make up for not having their fries, but you won't feel like you're TOTALLY missing out. Plus--some keto desserts and keto drinks! You can splurge without going completely off your eating plan. read more

We wanted a burger for dinner and this was recommended by a lot people so we figure we give it a try. Overall 3 Stars: I have mixed reviews on this place. I wanted to give a higher star rating but I honestly couldn't do it. Ambiance: 3.25 Stars - it is located on 76th ave and Old Seward in an industrial strip mall which is shared with a lot of small businesses. When entering, there a a few tables and front counter where you order. There is another room "reserved" for the Main Event" functions. Hence the name of the burger joint. There a lot more tables in there. They are known to "ward off vampires" due to their LOVE of garlic on their food items. Overall Food: 3.5 Stars Ordered: 1. 3.25 Stars Garlic Burger $17: Roasted garlic, garlic cream sauce, and more garlic load our already amazing burger, topped with melted provolone cheese. The burger was loaded with the garlic and provolone cheese, lettuce, onions and tomato but the meat itself was overcooked and dry. Plus the garlic is definitely the "main event" item. Personally a little too much for me cuz, I want to taste the meat itself. 2. 4 Stars Garlic Fries - it was served as a side to the burger. The fries were hot, fresh and crunchy. It was sprinkled with garlic and parsley I believe. When you burp the meal, any vampires, spouses or significant others near will run away or just melt into a pool of messiness. 3. 4 Stars - Grilled Blacken Burger $24. Alaskan Halibut seasoned with our signature blackened seasoning, topped with lettuce, tomato, red onion & a chipotle sauce. The halibut was properly seasoned, juicy and tender. Cooking halibut can be tricky depending on the thickness of the fish and the timing to pull it off the grill. The cook did a wonderful job. I could have ate two of them but they are expensive at $24. Ouch! That is why it is not a 5 star burger. As a side, I order regular tater tots instead of garlic fries. Another option is loaded tots where they add a lot of other stuff as a a topped. Staff: 3 Stars - we waited for about 5 minutes then finally had to ring for service. We can hear them in the back where the kitchen was but nobody was manning the front. Which was odd, cuz there were other customers waiting for their food too. After the bell was rung, the employee was friendly and efficient in taking our food. Also, we were short a garlic fries and the person said they will bring it out shortly. Then it got busy, and I finally had to ask them TWICE about it. After 30 minutes, we got them. I am glad we were able to share the other fries and tots while we waited. The employee apologized and gave us $5 coupon for the next visit. So would I come again? Yes, I would. There are many other sandwiches, salads and other food options. However, bring your wallet cuz it can get expensive if you are flipping the bill for a party of 3 or more. read more

I ordered for pickup and had alterations to my burger order. I was given a time when it would be ready and I showed up promptly and my food was ready. This place makes excellent burgers and my order was done correctly. There are many different options on the menu and I look forward to trying a different burger although I really enjoyed the "Hot Mess" burger. read more

Came to Main Event last week for the first time with a coworker who comes here often. We both ordered the Food Truck burger. I wasn't sure on their Awesome sauce so I asked to have that on the side. After tasting the sauce it was delicious but for me the burger was huge and I only ate 1/2 so I took the rest of my burger to go with the sauce. We also upgraded our fries to loaded tots and you talk about Yummy!! The restaurant was clean and they also had outside seating on this gorgeous day. I didn't see beer on the menu however I noticed a man purchase one and took his drink outside to wait for the delivery of his meal. The young lady at the counter was super nice while helping us and answering phone calls during lunch rush. I definitely will come back since I want to try their pizza rolls. I believe all the burgers a sandwich's come with fries. My burger was $14 before upgrading to super tots which was an additional $3 and well worth it since I had leftover tots to take home and they reheated up quite nicely. Very reasonable prices here! read more

For me now this is the best burger in town. Pricing has gotten crazy at a bunch of burger places, these guys are still reasonable priced for a big burger and it comes with fries! The burgers are awesome and cool selection of flavors! It's definitely a hole in the wall location but it's in a district with a lot of workers and industrial! Their catering is also advertised and I have heard good things about it. This place is worth a try for burger and fries from 14-18$ and they are massive and delicious. read more

This was my first time at the Main Event. I was meeting a friend for dinner and he suggested it. You order at the counter from a menu above your head and then someone brings the food to you. The burger was really good. It was cooked just right and the garlic fries were awesome. The lady who took our order and delivered our food was really friendly and helpful and gave us refills on our drinks. I want to like this place more, but it just feels and looks like a fast food joint instead of a neighborhood restaurant. The drinks are served in paper cups with lids, there are pictures of food taped to the windows, and the entire place is just a little grubby. I might be back, but I'll probably order take out. read more

Terrific food. They have a great kids menu. They have a massive burger selection. I can't wait to try them all. I definitely recommend.

The food is just okay. The salad felt like a generic to-go salad from the airport. Other food items could be better

Decided to give this place another shot again, was told the wait would be 15 mins, no worries i was the only customer at the time. 30 minutes goes by and a customer brings back a order turns out it was mine and it was half eaten they said I would have to wait to make it again. Ended up walking out. read more

I'm assuming this is the same business as "Main Event Grill" on Doordash. They serve unhealthy comfort food and they do it well! If you're looking for a carbolicious breakfast or lunch, this is your spot! I've gotten the carne asada grilled cheese for lunch and their breakfast burrito for, well, breakfast. Both were substantial and hearty. But there standouts are really their sides. The bigass breakfast burrito came with tots. Tots with bacon on them! The tri-tip grilled cheese came with a soup that was one of the best soups I have EVER had in Anchorage. The generous cup of it came with a perfect dollop of goat cheese. (I honestly forget exactly what the soup was, I just remember it being incredible) I was going to give them 4-stars, but that soup put them over the edge. I think I'll try and get some for lunch... read more

Soggy, inedible 'garlic fries'. Half of the bread on the special 'guacamole chicken burger', soggy. How can you let something like that fly out your window? On top of the person at the desk telling me that he didn't have access to the ChowNow app because the iPad died & waiting 40 minutes for the app to not be a 'pending order', my food is completely soggy, if he didn't have access; why did this food sit there long enough to get soggy!? read more

Honestly have never had a bad meal from them! They are pretty tasty and offer a variety of burgers. I've had the garlic burger today and it was pretty tasty. Wish there was a bit more garlic on the burger. Maybe instead of the cloves of garlic they could do a garlic spread. The fries were pretty tasty as well, seems perfectly cooked. read more

Main Event food truck has been on my list of favorites for some time now. I sure do miss them during the winter months....until now. Welcome to the brick and mortar version of Main Event. Serving all of their classic food truck menu during the lunch hours, this has proven to be a quick, "in and out" stop with the option of calling my order in ahead of time. With the new 76th St. Access from Seward Hwy, it is easy to get to. It's nice to have some fresh choices for lunch on this end of town. I ordered the Reuben Burger with Tots. It came out surprisingly quickly - and hot! The tots were generously seasoned with garlic and parmigiana cheese. The burger was very good. Big beef patty cooked nicely and piled high with pastrami, sauerkraut, grilled onion, relish, and their special sauce, served on a brioche bun. It would have beeen much easier to eat without the giant beard that adorns my face, and if my jawbone were double-jointed. Work with what you've got. Eat hearty my friends. read more

Huge hamburgers, the garlic fries should be called vampire fries and the salads are worth g to he price and not just all lettuce.

After hearing plenty about the Tap Out burger we finally decided to try this place out via DoorDash on a Saturday evening. We ordered the Tap Out with an onion ring topper and loaded tots. We got the cheeseburger egg rolls, the apple pie egg rolls, the halibut chowder, the blackened halibut caesar salad and their special of the day, the "ground and pound," which was a burger patty between 2 of their adult grilled cheese sandwiches + garlic fries. For drinks, we got their blackberry delight soda and their "coconut in the rain." Let's begin with the good. The burger patties were seasoned well and cooked through evenly. For the burgers to be so big I was grateful for this. It took my spouse a couple sittings to finish those two entrees. I took a few bites of each. They were indeed delicious. The awesome sauce was a great addition. However, the Tap Out and the loaded tots should've been separated with some deli paper. There was too much going on. The cheeseburger egg rolls were yummy and comforting. Good flavor and crispy texture. The blackberry delight soda was creamy with the perfect amount of sweet. The halibut chowder was just okay. I've had homemade halibut chowder with more flavor. The halibut Caesar salad was missing from our order entirely. Luckily, DoorDash was swift to refund. The apple pie egg rolls were sloppily thrown together and had a few stray green onions on them. After removing the green onions and nuking them (warm apple pie is a must) they were still, not at all, the sweet treat I'd hoped to end our meal with. The "coconut in the rain," was giving 100% Red-bull. None of the drinks' other described ingredients could be tasted. Overall, most of what we received looked and/or tasted rushed. read more

I had the garlic burger, and it was good. I would eat it again. It's a solid 3 stars for me. I've had the food truck burger, garlic burger, and ceasar salad. I wasn't wowed by the burgers, not that they were bad, but not a wow. The garlic burger only had like two cloves. My ceasar salad had a bunch of wilted brownish romaine lettuce. Service was good, restaurant clean, but I had higher hopes. Especially since other's uploaded photos that didn't match the same food I received. I'll give it another whirl sometime soon. read more

(Side note- my Yelp glitched out and reset my account so I reviewed it under that one cause I didn't know. but it shows me as brand new and now I have to re review it under my actual account once I got it back-weird) Summary- three stars because I didn't really like my burger. We ordered the garlic burger with super tots and the food truck burger with the garlic froes everything comes with. My burger only had cheese, shredded lettuce, one tomato and red onion which I picked off. The bun I think was home made but it was dense bread and kinda sweet which was overpowering the plain burger. I think I saw one clove of garlic on the burger with almost no sauce. It needed way more sauce and some pickles. The super tots were good. They had nacho cheese sour cream chives and bacon. The food truck burger had two cheeses, lettuce tomato and onion. Said it was good not the best. Garlic fries were good. I would try something else on their menu and this is my first time trying so theee stars. I will say ordering was super easy. I just googled main event catering, clicked on their store website, it brought me to a third party website where you picked through the menu, added what you want with the options of substitutions for sides and they have keto, GF, no bun options. You can Apple Pay, tip then submit. It tells you what time the order will be ready. Ours was ready in ten minutes. It was super easy and fast. read more

Food was good overall. Customer service could of been better. Told the guy that took our order it was our first time there. He spoke so fast and unclear it was hard to understand him. The menu he gave us told us the item and price but no descriptions of the item which wasnt helpful. I had the tapout burger with garlic frys becuz i looked it up on their website before going and my wife had the food truck burger with onions rings. Im not a fan of crinkle cut frys but they were ok with the garlic and parmesan on them. The onion rings were some of the the best we have had. The tapout burger i would not order again but im glad i did exprience it once. Its more of a novelty thing. So big it was hard to even eat and they put the lettuce, tomatoes, and everything else on top so there is no way to eat it unless u use a knife and fork. It was like eating a roll of hamburger inside fried bread. Really needs the condiments or its way to dry and unpleasant. I would offer a smaller version of it with half the meat and find a way to deep fry the bun seperately that way all the condiments can go inside of it, Just a suggestion. Overall we really liked the our exprience and hope this comment is useful. Next time im going to try the Hot Mess. It looks less like a novelty burger and more to my liking. Oh and i almost forgot their drinks are really really really good. Thanks guys read more

Great burger and fries!! Will come back again. The garlic fries were crispy and hot. Burger is big and nummy!!

Ordered through door dash. Food was warm on arrival. Had the cheeseburger rolls, Reuben burger, Garlic fries. and Buffalo Chicken griller. The cheeseburger rolls were both over cooked and under cooked. Even the burnt ones had raw dough inside. The chicken griller had zero buffalo sauce and mayonnaise (not mentioned in the description) so it was overly fatty and flavorless. Why 3 stars and not 1?... Garlic fries with bacon. So good! And they're local... and we LOVE supporting our locals read more
