I eat at various Wendy's at least once a week and one of the places that I go to is the Wendy's on Mansell Rd. in Roswell, GA. It used to be a great Wendy's but lately they have gotten my order wrong a couple of times and the help has been argumentative, unfriendly and unhelpful. Let me explain how the last three visits have gone so you (corporate office) can understand.
About 3 weeks ago I went there for a drive through order. I always get fries, a cup of water and a Double Stack with only lettuce, tomato, mayo, unions and pickles and have learned to watch the order board to make sure they get it right. On this visit when I got there a voice came over the speaker that simply said "OK" instead of Welcome to Wendy's or something nice. I passed over that and said I wanted a Double Stack with only lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, pickles and onions. He puts only 3 of those items on the board. I told him to please add the other items. He said they are standard implying they will come automatically. I asked him to please enter the full order. At this time a manager comes on and tells me to come around to the window and she will take care of my order. I pull around and she tells me that the order will be $4.54 (or something like that). I ask if it will be right. She say "Yes, I'll make sure it is." I pay, get my food and when I get home, the sandwich is wrong. They have added ketchup which I don't like and didn't order. If the first guy would have simply entered the order like I gave it there would not have been all the back and forth, the food would have been right and I would have been happy.
A week later I go there and order the same thing and this time it all went as it should have. When I went to the window to pay the manager was working the window and I told her about the problems the previous week. She said next time you come here tell them that she said to give me a sandwich for free to make up for the previous weeks errors. I thank her and leave. She was very nice, friendly and competent.
Today at 5:15 I go there again and started the order and once I had given the items to put on the burger, I told the person taking the order that that hamburger was supposed to be free per the manager a week ago. At that point a different manager from the one a week ago came on and was annoyed that I had not told them the hamburger was a free one BEFORE starting the order. I told her I didn't know that I should have. Then I went to the window to pay and the young lady taking the money said "that will be $4.54 (or something like that). I said that is not correct, that the sandwich was supposed to be free. At this point the manager appears and says "I've already taken off for the fries. I said that she hadn't and besides that I was supposed to get a free sandwich, not free fries. At this point she is being very rude and offensive. She corrects the order and walks off without saying anything.
When I get to the window I get my order and ask to speak to the manager. When she comes I simply ask her why she and the other help there is not friendly and helpful.... that all I want to do is get my order as ordered and enjoy it but all of the arguing ruins my meal. At this point she starts telling me that they are busy and are just trying to do there jobs and they don't have time for difficult customers like me. She then starts in on how I ordered wrong (didn't tell them the sandwich was free before starting the order) and I interrupted her and said "How would I know how to do that? I have never ordered when an item is free and no one has ever told that I should start off telling them the sandwich was free to which she said "No one should have to tell you that. You should know that!"
This Wendy's is suffering from some but not all marginal people in management positions whose attitude allows employees to be marginal as well. If corporate doesn't turn this around I and many others will quit going to this Wendy's. Read some of the other reviews. I'm certainly not alone in thinking this place is in need of a good flushing. read more
