I've lived in Georgia since 1999 and went to Roswell High, so I've known Rhea's since the early days. The original Rhea's near downtown Roswell was the burger spot back in the day, then the second location opened near the high school, and now Rhea's II off Highway 9 is the one that's stood the test of time. The other two may be gone, but this one's still going strong -- and I'm so glad it is. My buddy @Motovlogic told me they've got the best BLT, and honestly, I wasn't expecting to be blown away by something so simple. But wow... this BLT is perfection. The brioche bread is perfectly toasted with butter, giving it just the right crisp without being hard. The bacon is flavorful and perfectly cooked, the lettuce set up is perfect and not watery, the tomatoes are just the right thickness, and the mayo ties it all together beautifully. It's simple, but the balance and flavor are unmatched. They also make excellent burgers, patty melts, and fries... exactly what you want from a classic local diner. Pair any of it with an ice cold Coca-Cola Zero and you've got yourself the perfect meal. The staff is always friendly and consistent, and that consistency is part of what's made them a Roswell staple all these years. If you're anywhere near Roswell or Alpharetta, do yourself a favor and stop by Rhea's II and help support our local businesses!! You won't regret it. #RoliEats #Goodeats #RheasII #RoswellGA #BLT #RoswellEats #FoodieReview #SupportLocal #CocaCola

You can find this Rhea's location at 11490 Alpharetta Hwy Ste 600 Roswell, GA 30076 - this is a rather nondescript row of businesses that feature I think two restaurants, with Rhea's 2 towards the center. It's rather hard to see as the signage is basically nonexistent. There's parking out front, seems to be plenty with many people coming in and out, including lots of take out. This is one of those classic hole-in-the-wall burger joints - fairly no-nonsense with various burger and chicken combinations (double meat, texas toast or bun, etc) with fries or rings as options. You get a waft of cooked ground beef as you near the front door. The interior is sparse and utilitarian, but it fits in well with the burger joint theme. You're basically sitting in the same room as the small kitchen (mostly a griddle under an exhaust hood). If you're eating in, the same person greeting you will also take your order and later your payment - it's a simple business for a throwback to simpler times. On to the lunch - we each ordered the double meat option, mine on a bun and my friend's on Texas toast. I also optioned for the large fries while he got the small. The burger was closer to a smash burger but some crust but not the degree of, say MF Burger. Still very good and very satisfying. In all a pretty decent burger for a reasonable price, and close to the Mall to boot. I believe the original Rhea's was on Canton street - it's now a minute-mart type place directly across from Canton Street Stout Brothers. As it was then, service is still good but you need to be patient as there are only two people working in the restaurant.

    1. Jimmy Rheas Special Cheeseburger with fries and onion rings

My better half and I were in Roswell and wanted to grab a quick lunch on Saturday afternoon. We tried grabbing lunch at a deli where we had dined previously but it is closed on Saturday and Sunday. I checked Yelp and saw several positive reviews for Rhea's 2. We had trouble locating it because it is located in a non-descriptive strip shopping center with poor signage. It is located next to a Harley Davidson dealership and we finally pulled into the strip shopping center lot and parked in front of the restaurant. We entered and found a plain Jane, hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The owner greeted us and asked if we had ever dined at Rhea's 2. We told her it was our first visit. She recommended their #1 which is Jimmy Rhea's Special Cheeseburger. We decided when in Rome and the owner recommends a menu item that we should give it a try. We ordered the double patty and bacon on our cheeseburger. It comes dressed with tomato and shredded lettuce and is served on Texas toast. We both loved the cheeseburger. We also ordered a small side of onion rings and fries. My better half loved her cheeseburger and thought the onion rings were awesome. It was late afternoon and the owner was busy cleaning table tops and it was evident she takes pride in maintaining a clean dining area. The owner is also the server and cashier. There appeared to be only one other employee, the cook who was standing out front when we entered the restaurant. Our burger was enjoyable and the prices are great for the burger and a side. Check them out if you work in the area or find yourself on Alpharetta Highway near the hospital.

First time trying and will be back! Cheeseburgers cooked quickly to order and delicious!

It's my favorite burger. Clean plate club everytime! They are super nice and always recognize regular customers!

Great service and best burger in Atlanta. We need to do whatever we can to keep this place afloat. There used to be 4 locations and now there is just one.

Single cheeseburger on Texas toast & onion rings.

I was waiting at the nearby CarMax & needed lunch. The guy told me Rhea's was just a few blocks away so I walked down. It's in a small strip shop, pretty basic with tables & chairs & checkout stand & pickup counter. Service was friendly & fast. Like so often now, the default burger is a double. I got a single cheese w/ onion rings & unsweet tea. It came on nicely buttered & grilled Texas toast & was a good burger. I'll say getting the double probably improves the bread to beef ratio but the single was enough. Onion rings passable, but not extraordinary. Tea good with crushed ice so fine it's almost a slushy. My biggest concern after the fact is that I think I was charged for a double burger. Total was $14+ before tip. The double burger was supposed to be just $7.50 I think. I think side & drink were $3 each, so seems I was charged the double price for single but it didn't occur in time to ask.

The Jimmy Special burger with crinkle fries was so good, I forgot to take a picture before I ate it. Great price, nice staff. Would definitely recommend!

We came to Rhea's for lunch on a Friday afternoon around 1:30pm. It wasn't busy which was great because we sat down right away and were helped right away! For those that care about the kind of ice a restaurant has, they had crushed ice which honestly made my day. We all ordered some variation of a cheese burger at the restaurant. I got the Jimmy's Special and we ordered large fries to share for 3 people. The large fries weren't that big which is my only complaint so would definitely get one more but the cheeseburger was delicious! The food came super quick and the employees were amazing. The Texas toast on the burger was great. Prices weren't bad, but the menu on here was different than the one in the restaurant so it was more expensive than we anticipated but otherwise totally worth it!!

Rhea's is a north Atlanta staple but I still think it's underrated. Some would say it's the best burger in Atlanta. To that, I say: it's up there! Rhea's has a "homestyle" burger, meaning they use Texas toast instead of the traditional bun. The bread is thick cut and soaks up all the butter on the grill-top, so this means leak flavor. I got Jimmy Rhea's Special, the classic choice. It was a solid 9/10. It comes with ketchup, mustard, Mayo, lettuce, tomato and onion, with 2 patties. It was so moist. Not too messy. And so delicious. I did miss the pickles which I think would've kicked this up a notch but...I see what they're doing here. It's a really good burger all in all. The fries? 7/10. Average. Edible. Hot and ready. Good enough! The chili dog was a 6/10. I just got it on a whim. Basic, but the chili was not the best. Not a lot of a flavor in this one. Honestly, I could've done without it. PRO TIP: If you like ice...like Chick-fil-A style? This might be your new place. They have really great ice here! Lol. I took a picture for reference. I can say this is one of my favorite places to grab a burger in the Atlanta. You should definitely stop by if you're looking to try a top 5 burger in the city.

This is a great place for families and it's super loud inside and out so bring the kids and let them go nuts. I think the let down for me was the food. They are known for their burgers but for some reason I ordered the "Nashville Hot" chicken sandwich. I LOVE this sandwich and if I see it on the menu I tend to order it. I put the name in quotes because this was NOTHING like a Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. This was a fried chicken sandwich with a squeeze of hot sauce and honey. Absolutely horrible. The breading fell off immediately and it was just gross, greasy and slippery. No flavor, no heat. The second disappointment were the onion rings. Greasy, Soggy, mushy, and again, the breading immediately fell off. They were like eating fried spaghetti. The final letdown was the service. Our server was nice when she greeted us, but we saw her maybe once during our meal. Never filled our drinks and she checked on us once during our meal. The food took 45 minutes to come to our table. I am not sure if she was new. Tonight in general was just a bust. On the bright side, my wife said that her meal was good. Lesson learned. Stick to the burgers and fries.

Here is the summary of our experience there: i) Ambiance 4.5/5 - The place was not overcrowded and has a casual vibe with a bar and seating to enjoy there. I have heard some Bad daddy locations are dog friendly but I am not sure about the Roswell location. ii) Service 5/5: The service was great and our server Shayna(apologiesif I misspelled the name) was amazing. She was patient with our requests and gave great suggestions. We also saw her make a quick art of Courage the "cowardly" dog on the whiteboard near the kitchen which was amazing :) iii) Food 5/5: We really liked everything we ordered and also the suggestions that Shayna gave here. Here is the summary of what we ordered: Shakes: a) Cookies and cream - This was very thick and creamy with lots of cookie crumbles. My wife is a connosieur of sorts for this shake and she said hands down this is the best version she has had b) Make your own shake: I tried the strawberry, vanilla shake with Ghiradelli chocolate syrup. All good from the restaurant side but I will not recommend it since it was too sweet and I didn't really like the combo. So I will suggest to try this only if you are sure of the combinations. Appetizers: 1) Tater tots: We ordered the double size and it was too much for us to finish so we took it home. They could be too salty for some people. I really liked the chipotle ranch which our server suggested as it complimented it well. Main course: 1) Bad Daddy All American burger: My wife ordered this. She felt it was juicy and she liked that it has red onion. The only bit for improbvment would be to add a little more cheese since she ordered the home made cheese and was looking forward to it. 2) Make your own burger with buttermilk fried chicken: I really liked the freedom to make your own buger liked that it was crispy and juicy in the center. I also like that they have all ingredients on the side for your liking. They also give you the freedom to choose as many condiments on the list you want. The only thing to know is that it does not come with any sides abut I think its justified since its cheaper than other burgers iv) Value for Money 5/5: I really feel the place is value for money considering the make your own burger is 8.95+ and shakes are starting 5.95. Recommended: a) Cookies and Cream shake b) tater tots for the quantity and the taste c) Make your own burger for the options Not Recommended: a) Make your own shake if you are not sure of the taste combination I really like that they give you the freedom to make your own burger/salad and shake and the staff is really helpful. Overall definitely recommended and I am going to go back soon for sure

So this isn't a food hall in Sandy springs right off of Roswell road. It is multi-layered as far as…read morethe floors so you can go one floor for food and the other floor for a drink. I believe. Every time I've been I actually haven't been up to the bar area but you can see the steps so you know they're there. It's free parking because it's in Sandy springs so don't have to worry about trying to pay so that's good! I tried a couple of things but my most recent trip I went for the burger. You order at the counter and you can order anything there out of the all the restaurants they have. So you can order from any of five different spots and one register but I came specifically for Burger time. Birria burger - Now this burger was pretty good. It wasn't amazing but it was good. It needed an extra something. Typically. If you have this type of Taco you'll have something that you can dip the taco in, but the burger just came a little bit more dry and I feel like they could have had something extra to help it along. Queso fries - the fries were good. I feel like they kind of skimped a little bit on the queso, but other than that though they came out very crispy and the queso that was there was pretty flavorful. Onion rings - At this point I was just being a glutton LOL. Bunion rings were good and they had come back sauce and another sauce with them. I feel like they were kind of fried a little too hard though. But anybody could have an off day, not a big deal. You just don't want to cut your gums up like Captain crunch while you're trying to chew an onion ring LOL! Eventually I'll try the other couple of things. Like I haven't had the taco spot there yet, but it's on my list of things to do. It's a good duck off if you're in the area because there's a shopping area right across the street, so if you're in that Hood, I would definitely suggest giving it a checkout.

The location was clean, there are only a few tables and bar seats, (no alcohal) there are several TVs playing different things (the guy at the counter turned on the Minecraft movie for my son while we ate!! Super nice. My oldest and I order the Gouda burger... and my youngest ordered the hot dog. All with fries. (Prices seemed a bit high but honestly it was more than worth it!) The food came out pretty fast... and it looked awesome! (See pictures) the Gouda burger has lettuce, tomato, onion, Gouda, bacon, and shoe string potato chips on top of a good sized black angus patty. This was maybe the best burger I have had since I moved to GA! How are people not swarmed all over this establishment eating here! This was amazing! It was "ohhhhhh my Goddie to dam Hottie!!!" The burger was juicy and packed with amazing flavor! The addition of the shoe strings grave it a crunch that I just loved! I didn't even put catchup on it... I ate it as they brought it... nothing added nothing removed. It was phenominal! My son's hit dog was huge.. and loaded with condiments... onion, tomato's, relish on a monster dog. He couldn't finish it. The fries need to be cooked in hotter oil so that they get crispy.. some were kinda crisp some were not and salt the fries! The fries were ok... but the burger more than made up for it! I'm telling you this is burger heaven! If you're looking for the best burger around head on over to the Burger Factory... I know I'm going back to try a different offering soon!
