Burgers were good, but everyone at my table got bacon burgers which were missing the bacon.

I have heard people raving about Five Guys for years and had never gotten around to trying it. When I was hungry and passed by one the other day, I figured it was time to see what all the hype was about. That was the first and last time that I would ever eat at Five Guys. First of all, the ordering was awkward. Hubby and I walked in and I was asked how many patties I would be having, which was a bit confusing to me as I hadn't even looked over their menu yet. I told the girl at the counter that I wanted only one patty but with bacon and she said that their bacon cheeseburger comes with two patties. I only wanted one but she made it seem like that wasn't really an option so I agreed to the bacon cheeseburger as it comes. My husband ordered a hot dog. We also ordered a small fry to share, a drink for each of us, and I ordered a banana shake because someone I met recently insisted it was a must-have. We had some sticker shock when the total price for the items stated above was $39+ Considering what we ordered, this seemed really steep, but I had high hopes that the quality of the food would make up for it. Those hopes were quickly dashed, though. While we saw the sign stating where the potatoes had come from, the staff seems to have missed the mark on how to properly cook said potatoes as they were soft, mushy, and not tasty at all. In fact, both my husband and I agreed that the fries were basically inedible and we threw out the whole thing after just a couple bites. Hubby said his hot dog was pretty good, but it was after all, just a hot dog with some onions on it, which is rather hard to screw up. My burger was decent, but not necessarily good. I became really annoyed when after I started eating, I noticed several people ordering the small bacon cheeseburger. I had made it clear that I preferred only one patty on my bacon burger and instead of alerting me to the fact that there was an option for a smaller burger on the menu, the girl made it seem as if I wanted a bacon burger, I just had to deal with the two patties. Had she not made me feel like I needed to hurry up an order, which was the vibe she gave off, maybe I could have had a chance to see it on the menu for myself and order it, but unfortunately, this was not the case. The banana shake was tasty, but nothing to rave about. This was a colossal disappointment for me, which is why I will not return or recommend it to others. Part of the disappointment may come from the high expectations I had since so many people had raved about it, but either way in my opinion, nothing about the food or service even comes close to justifying the ridiculous hefty price tag. There are plenty of far better establishments at which to spend my money. read more

I always heard that five guys is expensive because the staff gets there early to prep fresh ingredients every day. I can respect that. I ordered a simple bacon cheeseburger with lettuce and mayonnaise. If I paid $8-$10 it would have been fine but I got a burger that didn't seem to have any seasoning, the bacon was over cooked and resembled bacon bits for a salad more than a strip of bacon, the lettuce had dark spots and seemed several days old. My total was $15 and change. Just a burger because to be honest I've had the fries before and they are soggy and half cooked. On paper it seems like I could have a great burger here but every time I give it a shot I feel like the price has gone up and the quality has gone down. I hope the staff is at least paid top dollar because they are the only thing that brings any value. read more

Five Guys is always a solid choice for a good burger! We arrived and were served immediately. The cashier was great! We sat down and got our drinks (Coca Cola Freestyle which is convenient but not my favorite soda fountain!) We waited about 20 minutes for food but in the mean time we enjoyed the peanuts they have available to snack on! YUM! Once the food came out, it was hot! I love that a lot of the toppings are free and even the Jr. Cheese burger is huge! We got the biggest size of fries to share and to be honest it was still too big, which was great haha. We should have gotten a size down. Either way, the burger was great and so were the fries which were unbelievable as always. My only complaints is the price. I've ate at this location for the past 3 years and the food has always tasted excellent and consistent. The employees are always so friendly too and say goodbye or see you next time every time I or other customers leave. I thoroughly enjoy the bacon cheeseburger with bbq sauce on top! I've had the fries a few times, but I had my first burger last week -- wow! The woman behind the counter was very nice. She was patient while I read the menu and ask a few newbie questions. I like that I could pick pick as many toppings as I wanted - rather than having to know a standard and subtract what you don't like. The price is a bit high, $23 for 2 burgers and an order of fries. It did fill us up across two meals so I suppose if you break it by 4 it is not that bad, lol! In the end I will definitely go back! read more

Placed order online for the North Point Alpharetta, Ga location. When I got there food was not ready. Fries were to be cooked to order. They were overcooked and extremely greasy and placed in a cup. The remaining were dumped in my bag. Imagine all of the grease coming through the bag. I asked for another bag. The cook gave me another bag covered in grease. Manager then replaced the bag. I absolutely HATE coming into a restaurant where all the employees are standing around and there's trash on EVERY empty table and on the floor! Imagine this.... It's 3:00pm.... Two people are seated eating. There's crumbs and cups all over the tables and straw paper and napkins on the floor.... all this mess!! One person was in the cooking area (standing around) then out of nowhere, 4 other employees come from the back (one came from outside). Now there's 5 people that were doing nothing when I arrived. I really like Five Guys hamburgers. When done properly they're one of the best burgers around. However when done without care, they're a gloppy mess. I've given this location several tries and they just lack attention-to-detail. The most recent visit resulted in overdone meat, soggy bun and cooked lettuce, tomato and onion. And the fries? They were a greasy mess, as if they weren't drained at all, so much so that I had to get an additional plastic grocery bag to prevent the grease laden bag from breaking. Location was late to get opened, then it took a few minutes to order. There were several patrons that piled in once the doors were opened. After waiting for a cash drawer to be brought up front, our order was placed and we sat and waited. Being order number 1 for the day and the order was made incorrectly leaves a sour taste in your mouth. This is supposed to be a premium burger shop and at $30 for two people to eat lunch I expect the order to be right. Pretty much the standard fare for a Five Guys restaurant. Seems to be one of the few places open when other restaurants are closed (New Year's, Easter). Yes, it's a tad expensive, but it still is one of the best hamburgers you can buy at a fast casual restaurant. read more

Whoever was the manager on Saturday March 18th during 5:30-7:00pm, is VERY lucky to have her position. We got an $80 order in which was missing a burger and one sandwich was missing all toppings (On top of that, only one sandwich was labeled). She told us she could only make the missing burger, but we didn't know what was missing because she didn't label them... After opening every sandwich to determine what was missing, she went on a 3 minute tangent that honestly had no meaning to the messed up order. Then told us, "You may now speak" is if we are in a 3rd grade classroom.. Then continued to ignore us and provide zero solutions. WILDLY unprofessional. We all have rough days at work, but none of us are allowed to cut corners and take it out on customers. Not to mention, this whole mess could have been prevented if she had even put a decent amount of effort toward her job. She missed an entire sandwich, missed all of the toppings on one sandwich, and labeled 1 out of 6 sandwiches. Hate to be blunt, but if you can't handle the rush, go back to mopping floors. Her coworker on the other hand, was very helpful and rushed to fix the order. I believe his name was Ron, but it was honestly difficult to hear him over the music, milkshake machine, and hood vents. Ron is a FAR better fit for a manager than whoever this miserable woman is. (He actually wouldn't give us his managers name, which I think is commendable for an employee) I hope she gets a chance to read this, just know the grass is greener where you water it. Additionally, rethink when you want to say, "You may now speak". You're not my mom, nor are you anyone I have to give respect to. You have my respect until you let out a sad statement like that. Alpharetta generally has a healthy amount of food choices, but being that we were looking for something quick and easy, it was Five Guys that we decided on. This location and food is infinitely better than the one in Sandy Springs, with the quality, cleanliness, and speed up to standard par. This is probably one of the worst five guys locations. It is more convenient to our home, but we purposely go to a further one Bc they frequently get our order wrong, burgers are almost never cooked well enough even when requesting we'll done, and the fries often have so much salt on them they are inedible. Here you get an expensive burger or hot dog. It's good and a level up from #1 fast burger chains. Spend more but get more. The meat is fresh and not overly greasy. Get a regular order of fries for two people to share because they HUGE! They do a good job but do have occasional hiccups, so check your order;-) read more

My favorite burger. I used to go Suwanee Five guys. This place also is great. I personally like the Five Guys burgers. It is little juicy, but tender beef, and salty peanut is delicious. I can choose menus and vegetables. Burger is large, and even smaller size fits my stomach. I recommend this place for casual dining out. read more
