Based on a recommendation from my buddy Ricky, I stopped by Cook Out for lunch the other day. The burger was excellent--cooked to order, hot, and delicious. I was a little disappointed with the portion sizes of the French fries and onion rings, although both tasted great. The milkshake was also thicker than I expected and was more like ice cream than a traditional shake. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'll definitely be back to give them another try. Hopefully next time they'll be a little more generous with the sides. read more

Terrible experience, I waited for 35 minutes and they still couldn't get the order out. Manager said they were short staffed but in the 35 minutes I was there, they only got 2 burger meals out of the kitchen and those 2 people had already left. This location shows poorly for corporate. The food is usually good but be prepared to wait if the service does improve, there were people there that waited an hour and still no food. I'd avoid this place and find any other burger place until they re-staff the location or close their doors. read more

We were able to visit this location since it's located only a few minutes from our hotel & it's open until 3am. We noticed a lot of restaurants closed early @ 10p & or 11p; so we wanted to try their food since we already had their shakes for $4 any toppings. We all ordered 3 snack trays: 2 burgers, all fries, cheese curds, onion rings, fried okra & 1 cheeseburger w/ everything. Our food was made hot & fresh to order which someone would call your # which is located on your receipt. For our drinks we order float w/ .55 up charge & 2 soda's as well. All the meals were $7 & if you want to upgrade to a shake it's an additional $1.50. The night staff is so friendly despite being extremely busy in the drive thru & customers coming in. The inside of the restaurant was clean & organized as well. We also came back 2 additional times to order desserts of shakes as well & our only suggestion would be to have real Oreo inside the shakes & real cheesecake pieces as well not just flavor. The restaurant is very affordable especially for a family of 3 which was under $30. read more

This was the first time I ever visited Georgia and my gf and I first visit to Cook Out. I loved how simple yet complex the menu was! Everything sounded really yummy and the food was cheap! We both got burgers and fries with the Cook Out sauce, double yumm!! The service was fast and very put together. I loved the lighting and how clean the place was on a Sunday night. Not sure if there's a better value fast food franchise around. Cookout's combo trays are great. Cheap, with better quality than McDonalds. No complaints about the service. They've never messed up my order, unlike McDonalds/Wendy's/etc. The inside has always been pretty clean. This is my go-to when I want something cheap and good. read more

An extremely slow moving line to place our order. There weren't that many people in line but they weren't moving. It took about 20 to 30 minutes when we got to the window we were told half the order was never placed and that we were liars and treated very rudely by Steven who appeared to be the manager and told that we have to get back in line and wait 30 more minutes for my friends food needless to say he got nothing to eat and we were very frustrated. read more

Ohhh my Goddie the selection of shake flavors here is toooo darn Hottie!! There must be like 50 flavors or more! I had a blueberry shake... I love blueberry. I used to get monster size shakes from a Cookout in Mooresville NC when I used to go there all the time. This is a must have! The shakes are so thick you burn off the calories trying to suck them through the straw. So basically they are calorie neutral. (NOT) They do give you a spoon as well... if you can't suck start a Harley... you can use the spoon. I'm telling you this is the place to get your shake shake on! Forget the shack, don't go hang with Andy, even the S n S can't hold a candle to the flavor choices that Cookout offers up. Probably one of the most underrated fast food joints in the Atlanta area. For the food you get, at the price you pay for, it's pretty competitive compared to the big franchises like McDonald's or even Chick-Fil-A in the ATL area. I thoroughly enjoy their burgers. It might be a bit traditional in terms of your average generic burger as it's not like the Big Mac but a fast food burger is a fast food burger. No bells or whistles. The huge Cheddar style / Bacon cooked just right/ Sautéed onions is better than restaurant burgers for half the price. They don't over do the bun. Rather heat it so the whole burger melts in your mouth with an explosion of flavor just like a Krispy Kreme donut. Just a hint of bun that compliments the burger. They really do taste like they were grilled on a backyard charcoal grill. Honesty in advertising is a sure fire concept. Sides: even though they are good (the walk-in taco is a smart idea and delicious) use your money to get a big double cook out style (Who doesn't love A1 sauce?). The corn dogs are good too (I wish they would give you more mustard for dipping) and the BBG sandwich is even respectable if you feeling moody. We had such a great experience here! My kids were so excited to go to Cookout since we don't live close by, so it was a real treat! James took our order and I'm so used to people being frustrated with big orders for our big family but he was smiling the whole time and was like, such a good deal for everyone! I agree! I have dined in at Cook Out a couple of times and the food is very average. It is good for a late night meal or snack when everywhere else is closed. The chicken tenders and onion rings are probably my favorites. The quesadilla barely has any cheese inside. The burger is average. Well, found this gem after most of my friends have been bragging about it. Seems to be a popular chain, which I had no idea how big until recently. So its Sunday, me and the wife are both out, she running, me at a bbq at a friends place. After we got done with our social duties we both met up at the house with an appetite, and since today we start a "healthier" lifestyle we said screw it, lets try this place. Made the drive to Alpharetta and got in. It was not super packed so made it easier to order. We got our orders in, sat and promptly got called. Wife got the hot dogs with chili and onions, fried okra and slaw, which she said was delicious. I ordered the crazy meal, Big double with Bacon and Cheese, hush puppies, and a corn dog. Man, I haven't had any burgers and sides this good in a while, so it was a good surprise. Overall, I liked the place, and so did my wife. We will be back soon, just maybe in a month or two, as I can't be eating this good all the time. There use to be a really nice lady that was always working drive thru afternoons, extremely on point, amazing greet, never a wrong order, if there was a commercial for Cookout it would be her. She has to be the manager or something. As for all every drive thru visit has been great, the folks here is awesome. While staying in Atlanta I went to these establishments about 5 times. Let me be clear I was not there for the food.......just the milkshakes and let me tell you they make the best milkshakes I've ever had in my life. The fact that you can customize them to your taste gave me LIFE! My favorite mix is Hershey chocolate, fresh banana and strawberry mixed. I was on cloud nine and the best thing was no matter which one I went too the milkshakes were consistent. They use real ingredients not cheap versions I saw their products through the window, and they also use fresh bananas as advertised. All that was missing was the whipped cream. The fact that I don't have this franchise where I live is a gift and a curse. However if I see one in my travels you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be stopping for my milkshake! read more

This was the craziest first time experience. I went through the drive thru and was greeted immediately! I asked for a sec and the lady said no problem. Scanned through the menu (really good prices and decided to get the special tray (something like that). I truly only wanted a shake but the tray thingy plus a shake was only like 6$ so what I decided to give it a go. I ordered, paid, got a receipt, was immediately given my drinks and while putting the drinks in the holder BOOM my food was right there! The customer service was phenomenal. My 1/4lb burger was very good that I got with the tray deal. Reading someone else's review a day later, I wish I would have added one or two of my onion rings to my burger. This same reviewer mentioned that this location has okra. I didn't see that on the menu last night but surely would have got that. I did enjoy my onion rings and chili as my two sides though. Like a greasy spoon restaurant, there fast and convenient. The employees always seem friendly when I comme in or go through drive thru . The restaurant itself has always been neat and clean.
