I became semi-obsessed with this place on the first visit, this review spans 3 dinner visits.
The first time I ate there I was looking for something new; a bit of strange.
The Waiter was an absolute doll and did an incredible job taking care of us.
We started with the potato gnocchi, the sauce was tasty but the gnocchi was under-seasoned, making it a lot like lumpy mashed potato's with no butter or salt.
We split the Wagyu Steak, it was cooked so impeccably that this is what set off my fascination, the only thing we didn't do is lick the plate completely clean.
As a finale we shared the Doughknots, beautifully fried with a clover honey and powdered sugar.
I tired the Pina Colada and sent it back; the mixologist didn't match the "rums" very well at all; completely unbalanced. The waiter said that their drinks are "boozy" and over-whelm most people. I disagree, if you match the liquors correctly it doesn't matter how strong the drink is. I had the Grasshopper as a second excellent choice.
It takes forever to get a alcoholic drink of any kind from the bar.
My second visit I went with several friends, the waiter didn't seem to know how to handle a group of people having a social outing. He would talk to me and pretty much ignored the rest of the group.
We started with the Ribeye Meatballs, which were amazing and the pressed eggplant with bread....only one piece of bread? When you have a table full of people sharing a starter, please bring bread accordingly.
I had a Jungle Bird as a drink, it was very bitter, almost disgustingly bitter; but the food helped balance it so I didn't send it back. One of my friends got the Long Island and didn't like it (gave to someone else), tried the Daily Punch ordered that and when hers arrived it was completely different then the one that had been served just 10 minutes before. Consistency is a huge problem here.
A Peperoni Pizza was ordered, it was good but the topping are sparse and the middle of the pizza was soggy. Not what you would expect with a "wood fire pizza oven."
I once again order the Wagyu Steak, but this time it was under-seasoned and over cooked. Consistency simply doesn't reside here.
We had two order is the Doughknots, one couple had that as their "meal." The order I shared was over-cooked and greasy. No consistency.
Had the grasshopper with my dessert....this in my opinion is the ONLY drink they have perfectly balanced for what it is.
The third trip was darn near a disaster.
The waitress was more concerned with her closing duties than providing service. Could not explain the menu items.
My friend and I split a Sausage Pizza with Mushrooms instead of onions...I was so hoping the soggy mess of a center from the first time was simply because it had been sitting for awhile, but alas it was not. The edges of the pizza were burnt, and the center of the pizza was a flaccid mess. Almost no cheese is put on the pizza, and the dough has no taste what-so-ever; plus if it isn't burnt it is a floppy, soggy disaster. The only good thing I can say is they didn't charge me to substitute an ingredient.
I tired to order a beer, my friend ordered the daily punch. My friends drink was served and after about 5 minutes the waitress came over to tell me they didn't have my beer at that time. The problem with the beer menu is almost every last beer on it is bitter to extremely bitter. Not a fan of bitter, so I skipped the dinner drink.
Once again we ordered the Doughknots, they were cold and extremely over-cooked; near closing they had been prepared and sat until we had eaten, gross!
I ordered the Irish Coffee and almost threw up with one sip, the Coffee and Whiskey were so bitter that my stomach turned instantly. The waitress was less than gracious.
I can NOT stress enough how INCONSISTANT the preparation of the food is.
It is almost unforgivable how much my experiences differed in a short span of less than 2 weeks between visits, which is the reason for the rating...one day you could get blown away by a perfect meal, the next you could be wishing you went to Chili's (I dislike Chili's).
As far as the bar drinks go; if you have no taste buds and simply want to get drunk really fast on over-priced drinks then this is a good place to go. There is little variety for different palates, you must like bitter/sour.
Also, the level of service seems to be affected by how stylish or attractive your table maybe. On ALL occasions I noticed several tables being given extra special attention by one of the 10,000 managers they have wandering about.
In one review it was mentioned that every meal comes with a bread basket, Not ONE SINGLE time was I ever offered a bread basket, but I did see the "special" people receiving bread baskets, unsure why they rated a bread basket and no one else in the restaurant rated the same.
I still plan on going for Breakfast one day, that seems the be the meal that gets the best review read more
