Ambiance - I went there around 5pm on a workday so there were barely no customers. Service - the server was nice and patient as it did take me some time to decide what to eat. They also offered spicy oil, sriracha sauce and spicy spices when I asked if I can make my curry ramen spicy. The spices were good! Food - it's definitely not the best ramen I've ever had, but thinking about the price, you get what you pay. The Yuzu drink was pretty good. read more

Wei Ramen is really good food. The portion sizes are pretty big, so you'll probably have leftovers. I also highly recommend the croquets as an appetizer. The service here is pretty good. They did try and get us going very quickly, but at times I felt a little rushed. It's better to be a little overbearing than to be absent though. Overall, it was a really good experience here. It's a cute spot in downtown Indy with great food at a reasonable price. read more

I was looking for a Ramen restaurant close by to bring my nephew for his Birthday and came across WeiRamen. It is conveniently located in Downtown Indianapolis. You will notice that WeiRamen also share the space with T-Swirl Crepe. When you walk-in the restaurant go past the first counter toward the middle of the restaurant. You will see a sign that says Please wait to be seated. This is where WeiRamen is located. We did not wait though. We were immediately greeted and seated right away. Our Waitress gave the right amount of time and our food came out so quickly. We were really impressed with the quality and the flavor. I am looking forward to going again to try their other dishes. read more

Wei Good and Wei Cool!! I stopped into Wei Ramen purely by accident while walking around the downtown area looking for some grub. I admit I was in explorer mode so I was getting hungry after walking around for a few hours. I hadn't had good Ramen in a while so I decided to check it out. The restaurant is a nicely decorated spot and very inviting. The menu is simple but offers your typical Ramen restaurant fare. I was admittedly hungry so ordered some of my favourites and of course a nice bottle of sake to wash it all down. I had Takoyaki and Karrage Chicken and ordered one of the signature Ramens. I was pleasantly surprised as the food was on par with some of my favourite local Ramen joints in my hometown. I think I may have ordered a bit too much food, but hey, it was a fantastic meal in a popular downtown spot. read more

I love it when I stumble upon the little gems around the city. Well-Wei Ramen is one of those gems! I'm so glad I tried the ramen. I've been here a couple times to enjoy the crepes in the front of the house-but this was the first time I had the opportunity to try Wei Ramen in the back. Authentic. Delicious. Quick service. Courteous server. I had the veggie miso ramen. Asked them to make it spicy and it was perfect!!!! Hubbs had the roasted chicken ramen (it's their most popular item on the menu). We both enjoyed our dishes. we also had the chicken karaage for an appetizer-also delicious. Everything came out quickly-fresh and hot. The server was patient as we were navigating our way through the menu. It's a cozy little spot. The tables are booth style-so you might end up sitting right next to your fellow patrons. As a matter of fact, there was a party of 6 that sat on the bench next to us and shared their appetizer with us lol. We were curious about what was on their plate and after they explained that it was a fried ball of minced octopus (can't think of the name) -they asked if we wanted to try it. And graciously we accepted-and so glad we did. It was yummy. I'll order it next time we go. Definitely enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back! read more

My group picked this place for lunch during our National Convention. We were hoping for a place in walking distance of the Convention Center that may not have a lot of Convention goers there. Wei Ramen fit the bill! There were a few people there eating but it wasn't super busy. Our group was quickly taken care of and our waitress was awesome. She was polite and checked on us during the meal but not overbearing. My food was just as good. I was just sad I was carb counting and didn't enjoy all of my good rice in the BBQ Chicken Don. I also had edamame but everyone at the table enjoyed it so quickly I couldn't get a pic. I will definitely return once Im not counting those silly carbs! read more

A craving for ramen hit and Wei Ram delivered (not literally)! Parking is a little difficult since it's in the heart of downtown, but there is a paid lot across the street. One of my favorite Asian foods are steamed buns! I crave them! When I saw steamed buns were on the menu I was thrilled. My friend and I each had a pork bun and split a bowl of ramen. The steamed bun was larger than other places. The sauce on it was delicious and the bun was nice and soft. The ramen broth was very flavorful l and perfect for a cold winter night. The noddles were not amazing but they were pretty good. Service was excellent and the restaurant itself is warm and cozy! read more

Nice little ramen shop in Washington st, downtown Indy. We went at about 5:30 on a Tuesday and it was pretty empty. It's nicely decorated. They have a boba tea and crepe(?) shop up front but it appears to be closed. The menu is simple, but has some nice options. We opted for the gyoza and each got a bowl of ramen. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. If you are looking for some good ramen downtown, check this place out! read more

Crazy that indy didn't get their first ramen restaurant until 7-8 years ago. Since then, many ramen establishments have opened around city, including Wei ramen in heart of downtown. The area of the restaurant is in redevelopment as there are a couple of major renovations of large buildings that are becoming hotels. The few blocks have been impacted by covid but is literally in the heart of downtown just blocks from gainbridge field house, monument circle, convention center, and mass ave. Space is clean, large. I have been here a handful of times and ordered carry out a handful of occasions as well. Portions fair and prices reasonable. Comparable to other ramen in city but as of now, probably best ramen in downtown specifically. If this were being judged against ramen from larger cities would be more of a 3 star rating but in medium sized metro such as indy, deserves 3.5 rounded to 4 star overall. read more

Wei Ramen is sooo good!! We are suckers for ramen. When we find a place that has it, we get really excited.. After a long day at the convention center, we needed to take a break for lunch, and was lucky to find Wei Ramen just down the street! It is small but cute! The interior has an authentic Japanese feel to it. There are plenty of different ramen bowls to choose from, and don't worry about leaving hungry because they are gigantic. We love this place! I'd easily recommend it to anyone! read more

This place is fun- one stop for ramen, curry, boba tea and crepes! So glad to find a place great for dinner before Pacers game as it is very close to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. If you want to be seated you have to walk pass the crepe area near the entrance. They did not greet me so I didn't know where to go or what to do at first. We got seated immediately and the service was very fast. I got my miso ramen in about five minutes (!) it was not mind blowing but decent. Considering the location I thought their food seemed reasonable. They do have Japanese style curry which I gotta try next time. Eating dinner here, Pacers game, and boba tea after the game will probably be my new routine on Saturday nights :))) read more

I was in town for 4 days for and was looking for some good food when I happened upon this ramen shop. I ended up going here twice on my trip. The first time I got the Tonkotsu Ramen and the Gyoza. The Gyoza was pretty good but the Ramen was . The 2nd time I went I got the Karai Ramen and the Karrage Chicken. Both were AMAZING and the portion for the Karrage chicken was huge, well worth the money spent. The service was very quick. My water was always full, my food came out quick, and my experience went very smooth. If you're in town, or just like some good ramen, check out this spot! read more

Such a nice ramen place in Indiana Me and my friends came here on Labor Day, thanks god they open and offered such a great meal We order Tonkatsu Ramen & Yamisuki Ramen. I guess they are the same base, but Yamisuki Ramen is with black garlic oil flavors, which taste little salty and much stronger than Tonkatsu Ramen. But I have to admit, they are both really good!!! Even when I come from New York and there are lots of great restaurant in New York, this Ramen still surprised me. I also ordered the Curry Chicken Rice Don but the thicken is too chewy, the rice is too hard ( lack of water) so I don't really like it. Overall this is a good place deserve to come and try. read more

I've been spoiled by the ramen in Seattle, so when I compare it to what I've had here, the difference is noticeable, and the food just doesn't measure up. Additionally, while we were enjoying our meal and taking our time, the servers asked if we were finished, even though we clearly still had food in our bowls and were in the middle of eating. I wouldn't come back read more

I agree this ramen spot gets, at best, a 3-star rating. I was hoping for more since I love a good broth, but this spicy ramen was more watery than I expected yet still salty. The pork pieces were more chewy rather than tender. I did order on Uber Eats so my food was lukewarm when it arrived. The delivery person made one stop before making it to my place just to be totally transparent. I want to bring this up as it may have something to do with the watery broth taste and lukewarm temperature. However, I have had a similar ramen before at other restaurants, delivered to go, and the other one I remember tasting a better overall flavor and richness to the broth. This one was diluted and lacked a savory flavor to me. It tasted like it wasn't the freshest ingredients either. Just didn't work unfortunately. I will say that it is a good portion for your money, but it's nothing that I could finish in one sitting if I tried. I have an "Eyes Bigger Than Your Stomach" type of stomach. I ordered the green salad and Japanese pancakes on the side. I wanted to be slightly adventurous. The "pancakes" reminded me of a mooshy quiche (it has egg in it apparently) and the sauce on it was a little bit tangy. The pancake wasn't horrible, I just didn't care to eat more than one wedge. (It's not my thing I guess). The green salad I thought would be my 'saving grace' for being something I am used to and would know that I could eat, but it's topped with a yellow curdy textured salad dressing that I'm not a fan of. Have no idea what that was...So I could not finish it either. This review is only on the items I ordered so I wouldn't cancel them entirely, you should maybe explore different menu offerings if my take is something you will consider before dining here. - JM 10/29/21 read more

I absolutely love this place. Best meat I have even had in ramen. My favorite dish is the Miso Ramen with pork and the shrimp tempura. The service is incredible and the vibes are awesome. There is a little mochi donut shop at the front with some of the most delicious donuts I have ever had. This, aside from a random bbq place I found in Alabama, has the best food I have ever had. I had Wei ramen delivered. It was packaged nicely. The ramen contents in the bowl and the broth was separate to pour over. (The noodles were a little sticky because of this but it worked!) the pork was very tender. Stopped here for a quick meal on a Friday before a Pacers' game. Wei can be a little tricky to find as it shares a space with a creperie. Both the staff and guests were in high spirits. The venue was not overly crowded and my date and I were promptly seated. Perusing the menue it was clear that aside from Ramen, they also specialize in Udon, Curry, and Bao buns. There is a wide variety of Ramen to choose from. On our visit we split the Yuzu Shio Veggie Ramen - a mixture of noodles, bamboo, bean sprouts, cabbage, mushrooms, tofu skin, and nori seaweed. We also split the Veggie Croquette, one of their appetizers. I thought the Croquette was excellent and the Ramen was enjoyable and filling. Our bill was $20-30. read more

We ordered the Yamituske ramen, chicken karaage curry bowl, and veggie potato croquettes. The ramen was delicious, very flavorful broth. The pork chashu was overcooked and dry (we got a huge end piece that I actually couldn't even bite a piece off of) but for me the most important (and most commonly bland) part of the ramen is the broth, and they nailed it. The croquettes were not what I was expecting. They were flat and cut into strips like katsu rather than round, but still good. The curry was....kind of strange and disappointing. I've made better curry at home with the Golden Curry blocks. What we got was rice with a thin layer of yellow-ish curry, layer with egg, and then more rice on top. Came with kimchi? If I were craving curry this would be extremely disappointing, as I would expect rice with a generous ladle of curry filled with chunks of meat, potato, and carrots, not some weird layered rice bowl that had very little actual curry. The katsu sauce on the chicken had more flavor. The karaage was again flat and cut into strips like katsu rather than what I would expect from Japanese fried chicken. I was concerned we got the wrong dish, but the waiter confirmed this is the karaage. Service is fast and no frills, and the food came out quickly. Would definitely come again but skip the curry and just get ramen. There is also a nice mochi donut and bubble tea store at the front. read more

My first Ramen experience and it was wonderful! We went for an early dinner on a weeknight and were seated right away. We parked in a garage nearby, street parking may be difficult. The inside is nice and quiet with cozy booths and tables. Our service was quick, friendly, and helpful. I got the spicy ramen and really loved it, the broth was a great medium heat level with lots of flavor that permeated every ingredient. My husband loved his ramen - that broth was a little sweet for me, so I'm glad I got the spicy one. We also got pork dumplings that were incredible, and I'm not usually a huge pork fan. But this was delicious and we will definitely be back! read more

This place seems to be a little hit or miss. It's pretty new and shares space with a Japanese crepe place. I was a little confused upon my first visit because you order at the counter for crepes, but Wei Ramen is a sit down restaurant. I went at lunch time and we were seated immediately with immediate service. However, once our food came, we were not serviced again. We had to ask the manager for an order correction, who proceeded downstairs to the kitchen, and we could hear everything he was saying. Then when I paid my bill with cash, I was not given any change back ($0.43). I know it's not much, but this perturbs me when restaurants do this, they're stealing my money! This was our first time ordering from Wei Ramen. All of the packaging for delivery was well done. I was a bit disappointed with the karrage chicken. The place is interesting and server was friendly, but the best thing about the food here is the close proximity to my hotel. The Tonkatsu ramen is thin, watery and lacks the complexity of a slow cooked pot of broth. The ramen noodles were overcooked and did not resemble true ramen noodles. The soft boil egg was overcooked and was never marinated in soy and mirin. Just a plain overcooked hardboiled egg. The added sushi pink ginger to the ramen which totally made it worse than it was. The gyoza was so so, store bought maybe. The potato croquette was probably the best dish that we had, but was ruined by the bottled sauce that was put on top. I gave it two stars based on the fact that they are located in Indiana. If it were Seattle, DC, NY or California, they would be out of business in a heartbeat. read more

The environment at Wei Ramen leaves a lot to be desired. It was confusing when my group and I entered because T-Swirl was the first establishment that I saw.
