Had a much better experience today. Super friendly service at the seafood counter and clearly posted hours!

Any stores in Germantown Maryland have chicken?

Around what time do they close down the hot bars?

Sometimes they shut down around 7 pm, sometimes later

It's nothing special, but I almost always find what I need - on occasion there are things out of stock that I'm looking for, but not often enough to make a big difference. I have had a mix of interactions with the staff here, nothing outwardly negative, just generally unfriendly. BUT there is a gentleman that usually works in the dairy/processed meats section and he is always SO NICE and so friendly. Even when I come in at 6 in the morning on the weekends! Overall, I like this location, and I will definitely keep visiting (obviously with the 1 million check-ins!)

The first two times it was good. The third time was a disaster. They have a fraud department. I was flagged..it happens.. They realized it was a mistake and reinstated my account. Mind you it was $250 worth of food. They reordered my delivery (another $250) and the fraud department canceled the order again! I called to fix this. A man by the name of Chris said it was "billing issue" Fraud? Billing? which one. I am for now on going to Costco. I told them they lost $15,000 worth of my business because of their incompetence.

It was the kind of place where you could wander with a tray, try a little of everything, and always leave happy (and full). Beyond the food, it had an atmosphere you don't find often anymore: a casual bustle, families sharing dishes, shoppers taking a break from the aisles, everyone drawn together by the smells and flavors. That's why it was such a loss when the owner closed it down. The whole community misses the variety, the warmth, and the incredible value the food court offered. It wasn't just a spot to grab a bite, it was part of our weekend routine, a place to bring visiting friends, a taste of home for many. Thank you to everyone who ran the food court for all those years. Your hard work and hospitality made Great Wall more than a supermarket; you made it a gathering place. You're dearly missed!

Other fresh seafood included lobster, reasonable prices stone crab ($3.99 a pound is the same as t home in Newport, RI), Dungeness crab, lobster, and - to my surprise - a tank full of fresh frogs which I wives witnessed the demise of (well, four anyway)! The workers in the seafood department were on their a-game! A beautiful store that I will come back to for sure.

I have never met someone at a Trader Joe's that wouldn't go out of their way to help a customer. The food is delicious! They have lots of fresh fruit and veggies. The Employees are constantly packing those aisles with fresh produce. I really like their cheese section. I always get the feta cheese, baby Brie cheese, and Gouda cheese. They are priced so reasonably. I love their snack section and I load up on nuts, dried fruits, chips, pretzels and cookies. You can't go wrong with Trader Joe's snacks. I also buy their muffins and breads. They have a sourdough bread that is amazing. The scones are really good too. Don't forget the lemon cookies, they taste like lemon meringue pie. Yum! The store is clean, well organized, and well stocked. If they don't have a product you need, they will let you know when it is coming in. Great food and excellent selection, fabulous employees, good prices, why would you go anywhere else?

But this one is preferable to the one in North Bethesda because it seems to have more parking spaces and getting back onto Rockville Pike can take a while, especially on Saturdays. And unless you like parking in underground garages, you can give the downtown Rockville TJ's a pass (formerly Dawson's Market). Store is clean and well-stocked, and they always seem to have staff restocking the shelves. Cashiers are friendly and efficient - they'll call you over to one of their lanes if they're open (and the lanes are named after local roadways for convenience). Just be careful turning into the lot from Travilah and Route 28 - the first driveway is exit-only!!

Recently come up a customer had it out with another customer and the manager. Screaming ensued, police were called and the stored was emptied because shoppers were afraid. Homeless people begging immediately outside the door and a very rough neighborhood at night, in my opinion, makes shopping here, scary. WTH is wrong with this location? Terrible oversight by upper level management otherwise they wouldn't let this kind of behavior happen at the store level. My recommendation is to shop at Walmart, Wegmans or Giant Food which is much nicer... no drama, and no fear for your life.

But wow! What a change. They all are miserable and would do everything in their power to make the customer miserable. Parking their stocking carts in the middle of the aisle, moving customers out of the way to restock already stocked shelves, dumping rotting produce on top of clean produce. The list goes on. I don't see a single employee from the older times. It's all new, bottom level workforce. If you want to work here the bar is on the floor! I have started driving a few blocks down to Wegmans - the produce is better and you don't have to fight their employees to get to the aisles. I'd avoid!
