11/21/21 Wow, this new location of Aldi's  (which is new to me) is busy. Although tje food options are the same from what I saw, some of the prices looked lower than what I have seen in Virginia stores. I mainly wanted to see if there was much of a difference.   There wasn't,  but the floors were a little messier than the Virginia stores I have been to.   Hey, it was very busy there, but some sort of clean up would be good.  I also feel the men's bathroom need a urinal mats on the floor,  because to many cock shooters are missing their targets. This Aldi is a hot mess! No self checkout - only two registers open on a Sunday! The lines weren't moving but I didn't feel like going to another store. I was only getting three things but I had to suck it up and wait. I only happened to be in the area so I came in here. I don't plan to again. It was awful. I was disappointed on how i was treated while checking out here today. I get that he's the "only" cashier working and he seems pissy about it. BUT all i did was try to put my stuff on the belt MIND you i was patiently waiting for the elderly woman before me before i put my groceries on the belt but the cashier said DONT put your stuff yet i told him i have the divider up anyway but he said the divider will go up just let the other lady finish meanwhile there's a line and the lady after me was asking why you can't put your stuff in the belt and then i said i tried to but the cashier said NO. She was like there's a divider anyway and i said yes i did that but he still said NO. I respected the elderly lady because she was slow and i waited before i put my stuff because the cashier seems to feel like he wants to control everything. He had a bad attitude and he just dumped everything in the cart didn't say nothing no apology for what he did and i did the same i will not be saying anything nice to someone who was a jackass to me. It's not an intuitively organized store. It's not well marked and kind of messy. It's definitely designed for impulse shoppers. The other issue is no Internet. I had a delivery service unable to communicate with me because they couldn't access the shopping app to suggest alternatives when stuff out of stock. And it was tough finding staff. read more

Another bigger-than-mine Aldi! *What I Want You To Think* I only stopped in because I was in the area and forgot to get dish tabs at Lidl when I was there last week. *What I Was Really Doing* I checked out the Christmas chocolate and decor section and it wasn't marked down yet. This is an update. I subsequently learned that ALDI charges a 25 cent deposit for shopping carts. Consumers get that back on return of the cart. I wish they had baskets. I walk with a cane, using a shopping cart is difficult. If they had baskets I could not find them. I am not a fan of ALDI. read more

Came on opening day and I'm surprised it wasn't more crowded. Yay for me! I received a free Aldi reusable grocery bag and $5 coupon that can be used within the next week. Parking was a breeze in the huge lot in the early morning, but I'm sure it will get more difficult during peak hours. This is only my second time shopping at an Aldi and I'm a fan. You'll find food at great prices and other miscellaneous items (household goods, clothing, pet supplies, storage equipment, etc.). If you see something you like, make sure you purchase it because it might not be there next week! So far my go to items at Aldi have been the fruit, vegetables, cheese, bread, and European cookies/candy. Overall a great location and addition to the neighborhood. Staff was friendly and were able to answer questions on items and their location. Check out was also a breeze. I'm still getting used to packing my items at the counter, which can get crowded so have some patience. Also not really ideal for those with strollers as you have to maneuver it and the cart to the packed counter. I see how it can cut down on costs and time at the register, though! Bags are 10 cents (rather than the usual 5 cents) and you need to estimate how many you will need. Carts are a quarter, which you get back once you return the cart. Some thing I need to get used to as well...always have a quarter on hand when you visit an Aldi! read more

I like going to Aldi's. I used to tell people about Aldi's and how it was like a little hidden gem and suggest that they stop by and now I am very careful about what I say to people. Before the pandemic I used to like coming here because their produce good and fresh, the prices were reasonable and their stores are always clean, however during the pandemic the quality of the produce is not always good. Pre-pandemic five stars during the pandemic not so much. I know this review may seem a little tough but I have to be honest with my review, because there are a lot of things that they could improve on including keeping people safe by making sure that their stores always have wipes available to wipe those carts down. One day I found some candles and the very first candle that I purchased was a cranberry holiday scent and ever since then I've been hooked. I've tried almost all their flavors so far. Every time I see a new one I try to grab it. The only suggestion I would make the shoppers is to carefully inspect the items that you're purchasing and look for expiration dates. If you cannot find the expiration dates do not get that item. Look for another one with a date on it. Also the dairy products for some reason mainly their cheeses spoil a good year or more before the expiration date that is printed on the package. I threw the cheese in the trash before taking a picture. I completely forgot to take one for this review. It was a brand new bag of shredded cheddar cheese and I had only used it once and the second time it ruined my food because I did not realize that the cheese was molded. read more

I think this is going to be my go-to Aldi in the DC area, it's probably as good as it can get for me here. This location is BIG, well-organized, the usual inventory, and most important, very convenient to public transit (Twinbrook metro stop is a quick walk away). Another positive is the extensive retail in the surrounding area - this Aldi is part of a shopping complex that includes stores like Barnes and Noble, Petco, Five Below, Bed Bath & Beyond, and more. Restaurants and decent clothing retail options too. If I'm going to have to travel 45 minutes to get to my preferred grocery store, it helps to have other options nearby to make it more worth the trip. read more

I can deal with not having all the fruits I need but their customer service, especially the cashier by the name of Analicia was horrible she made the rude comment of "you have to hurry this is not Giant". To me and my wife after the customer behind us was loading their cart onto the belt while I was doing it making it hard and confusing. She could've made a comment to try and control that situation but instead goes and presses me and my wife on the issue like it's my fault. She did not have to make that comment or give the attitude she gave. Not my first time shopping at Aldi but I'm tired of this bull crap. Not to mention she threw crap on my bread flattening it. First, you must bring a quarter if you want to use the shopping cart. The carts are chained. I was told you get the quarter back but in the last two times that I needed only a few things, I opted not to get the cart. Prices are great and are lower than most of the larger supermarkets in the area. In exchange for the low prices, you will not get the variety of selection as you would in larger chain supermarkets. The vegetables and fruits are fresh. In the non-food aisle, you also might find some household items at an incredible low price. On my first trip, I got a pair of fleece tights for only a few bucks. As you head to the register, take note that they do not have a bagging area at the end. The cashier throws and I mean literally throws your items into an empty shopping cart that she has nearby. I regret not asking her to not bruise the bananas. People are paying for these items and the cashier should have handled them with care. I'm not asking that she treat them like delicate objects but she was throwing the items. You are expected to bag your own items. And while you're bagging your items, she throws the next customer's items into the same cart while you're frantically trying to get your stuff bagged. You could walk a few steps to the front of the store windows and bag your own items on the tables there but that would require taking the cart. So if you have a lot of items, I would suggest bringing that quarter and using a cart. Service was extremely bad. And if you don't mind the occasional brand that you've never heard of, prices are good. It's a shame that low prices equates to bad service in this case. read more

This new Aldi rocks because.... There is plenty of parking. Eisles are wide so you can browse. Lots of stock, more than other Aldi locations. It's new !! More different items to choose from. I usually shop at Del Mercado. This is worth the extra trip. read more

I run into this Aldi store about once a week at the end of my work day. The produce is of a high quality. The regular price for it is quite reasonable & the weekly specials are very good! Recently I bought great kiwi & grapes here. Aldi also has very good prices on blocks of popular & specialty cheeses. The chocolate bars sold here including the dark chocolate ones taste very good & sell for a reasonable prices. The personal care section offers a good variety of everyday items also at reasonable prices. The lines at checkout often appear to be a bit long. The cashiers however are very efficient & quick! This store seems to have a constant flow of satisfied customers. The minute I found out Aldi was opening on the Pike I knew it was going to be great. The Pike has SO many grocery stores but let's face it, they are expensive. The opening of this location is extremely welcomed. This location is hidden, depending on which way you're going down/up the Pike you may miss it. The main entrance is a turn in and not a traffic light so be prepared. The parking lot is shared with other stores like Michael's and Bed Bath and Beyond. Due to the store being new/hidden I've always found a parking spot. Once inside you'll notice how bright and clean the store is. I feel a little calmer than I do at other stores like Gaint or Safeway...Less crowds are definitely my jam. Staff are limited but very friendly. If an item is out of stock they'll be able to check in the back and hopefully bring it out. I've noticed that customers who shop here literally have all day to shop- no one appears to be in a rush. This can cause frustration if you're in a rush but be prepared for that calming effect I was talking about. I've been here several times since the store opened and I am still impressed. I recommend checking it out. It seems like the selection changes weekly if not daily. I would also recommend buying something when you see it because chances are it won't be there next time. read more

Elated that Aldi is in Rockville! This is a great location for the grocery store and there is ample free outdoor parking. Be sure to bring your quarter to borrow a shopping cart (returned to you after cart is also returned). This store is beautiful inside and well organized. It contains all of not more items than the Gaithersburg and Germantown location. Huge array of organic and non-organic products and even some non-Aldi exclusive brands (like POM). The staff is friendly and I was all over the $5 off of $30 coupon I got in the mail (on a flyer). Worth mentioning: I had no issues with their awesome return policy (I over-bought cookies...). read more

Just love this place. This has been my go-to during pandemic times, and will continue to be afterwards. I hadn't shopped here in years just due to living far away from one, but when most stores had limited products, I knew Aldi's would be stocked. They were rarely out of something I truly needed, and oftentimes had products when other stores didn't. I love finding new products to try, even if they won't necessarily be there the next time. And I have a new set of regular favorites. You can't beat the prices and they are fast and efficient. Usually I love Aldis. But this one made me think twice before buying things: 1) Vegetables. Flies all over the onions, which means one or two bags in there are rotten. Disgusting... Just have someone sort through the veggies every few hours to make sure there aren't clusters of flies everywhere!! 2) Fruit. Good selection, but kind of bruised. 3) Snacks & Canned Goods. Perfect for grabbing some off brand chips, tuna, etc! I recommend Lays Baked Chips. 4) Outdoor stuff. Totally messy and lacking, probably because it's summer and people buy that stuff quick. 5) Dairy & Frozen Goods. Their selection of yogurt sucks, but can always count on good milk, eggs, and coffee creamer for cheap! The frozen goods have a great selection and is probably the biggest section at this location! My favorite frozen item is the chicken and cheese taquito box, that they usually have at every Aldis. 6) Cleanliness - awful. Service - good. Overall - 2 Stars. read more

Absolutely horrible experience and I won't be back. I'm helping family move and after going to bed bath and beyond, I had to get drinks for everyone without spending an extra 20min of driving. Figured.. ah, Aldi.. I've never really been, seems like a small Costco? Oh, carts.. why are they all chained up? Oh... So.... I can't just... Grab a cart? Wait... I have to pay 25 cents to get one? I don't have change not cash on me... What is this system? Ohhh... Maybe I went to the area with storage.. maybe these aren't the real carts.. I guess they MUST have carts inside.. they can't just do this without signage.. *Walking in* boxes are everywhere, dirty floors, overly crowded in a spacious but dirty way. Im not a fan.. doesn't look like they have bags.. I'm in trouble.. and no carts... Good thing I'm not getting 2 liters.. I grab the drinks and walk over to a line with 8 carts, 3 lanes open and no employees trying to help you at all.. I finally get to line number 2, and thankfully.. I can put my drinks down (thank goodness.. I felt the 12 pack snapping in half). Finally get to the counter.. and I think hrmmm... I don't have any cart.. and there is no place to put scanned items.. so the cashier grabs a cart for me.. *whew, I'm saved .. I pay and start walking away only to be told "sorry, but I need that basket. You got everything?" Given the fact that she never stood up once.. I just grabbed my items, struggled to the car, whilst cursing Aldi, the employees, and the dirty place under my breath as I walked away.. Never again. read more

Aldi is always a good experience depending on your local store. Not all Aldi's are created equal. This one is about 3-stars. Cleanliness: 2 This store is picked over. Crushed produce on the floors, not the cleanest Aldi. Staff: 3 I've been to this location twice and the staff is fast and moderately friendly. They seem overworked and trying to keep up with the demand. Selection: 3 Some condiments are missing (like tartar sauce and avocado oil) but they make up for it in produce. This store is clearly UNDERSTAFFED, the managers are rude, and employees are not trained to treat people with a decent level of courtesy. Dont expect the store to be stoked or even clean. Aldi really is behind of the quality of their products, and I have no complaints about that. But apparently they are leaving behind the customer service experience in order to save money on labor ... Very nice clean store. Do you remember to bring your own bags, but that is the way of environmentally smart Shopper anyway, so, nothing new there. But how about this one: bring your own quarter. If you want a cart and you go to the cart corral, you will have to insert a quarter to, more or less, "rent" a cart. I find that I usually manage by just carrying my own bags and placing my items in my bags. I do this for all fast grocery trips. And especially works here at Aldi's where I may feel compelled to purchase more than what I came for as e-stores various items are so tempting and the prices are great. One thing they do need to improve upon is the fact that they only have one or two registers open and the lines are always incredibly long! They never have enough people ringing customers up no matter what time of day it is. It's just never enough and they're always backed up. So do be prepared to stand in line for quite a while whether you have one item or 10 or 20. read more

This location recently opened on 11/1/18. I had no idea they were even opening a location in Rockville but so glad they finally did. Store is really nice, clean and very spacious. I've had no issues finding parking. Definitely will be back now that they are so close to my home. read more

Sometimes, when I go to the Bel Pre Aldi location, I have to hold my breath. Who is going to bump into the back of my ankles with their cart this time? I am so relieved this is not the same issue for the new Rockville Aldi! Surprisingly, it wasn't mayhem two days before Thanksgiving and they had the item that I came looking for. This was my third grocery store stop for tiny, yet mighty delicious meatballs LOL. The store was spacious, well-lit and fully stocked. No cart injuries happened. From now on, I will be driving to shop at this location even though it is further. The peace-of-mind experience is worth the mileage. read more

Did you know the prices vary between local Aldis, and this is one of the more expensive? For example, a pack of grape tomatoes this week was $1.89 here and in Gaithersburg, but only $1.19 in Takoma Park and Beltsville. This is a 59% difference that they don't price match with their own branches, a situation I've never seen at other grocery stores. They deserve 2 star only because the groceries are inexpensive but the customer service is one of the worst I've ever encountered. Especially the cashier lady, she is very rude to the customer and throws things into the cart after she scan them at the checkout (I'm talking about eggs here). I tried the Aldi in Gaithersburg and was not impressed but when I saw the reviews for the new store I figured I would give it a try and I am so glad I did! The selection of food is amazing and the prices are the best around. I was impressed by the quality of the produce, the freshness of prepared foods and variety of frozen foods. Math is not my forte but I figured that I saved about 50% over Safeway. Yes you pay a quarter for your shopping cart but you get it back. Aldi has made a loyal customer out of me. read more

Was curious to visit the Rockville Aldi although we are closer to the Layhill store, but wanted to see the new location because of the positive reviews. We were not disappointed. The Rockville location is convenient to get to and the parking lot is easy to navigate with plenty of spaces. This Aldi is located in Congressional North in the same shopping center as Bed, Bath and Beyond, Michaels, and PetCo. Aldi took over an appliance/electronics store that went out of business. The store is large, clean and the aisles roomier. After picking up a "few things" I said to Rich we should start doing more of our weekly shopping here and just picking up things at Giant that they don't carry at Aldi like my coffee and diet ginger ale. There are a few things that might be a little less expensive at Giant when Giant has a sale, like spaghetti 10 for $10, but most of my basics like eggs and coffee creamer are a lot cheaper every day. read more
