Aldis-Two different aged cheddar styles from Jasper Hill! (jaw drop) - A person is holding two blocks of Vault 5 Cheddar cheese from Jasper Hill in front of an ALDI grocery store shelf. The cheese blocks are labeled with black and orange or blue and white packaging. The shelf below displays a yellow price tag indicating $4.99 for the cheese, with other grocery items such as containers of salsa visible nearby.

I have visited many Aldis in my lifetime (including several in Europe). This store opened a couple of days ago very close to my home, so I went to check it out. Aldi was originally a German chain of small supermarkets that opened in the US several years ago; they keep their own brands, low inventory and have popularized many European products in the US. Even though they eventually adjust their inventory to local tastes, and they stop bringing things that don't sell, they always start with a fairly diverse product line that is standard since they are not exactly sure what will sell or not. Therefore, since the store just opened, they had a lot of unique, high-quality items, so I decided to highlight them. Check our my pictures for unusual produce ("golden" strawberries), cold cuts (prosciutto, serrano, cave-aged cheddar by Jasper Hill, brioche breads, German cookies, single sourced coffees, etc.) The store was very clean, and I saw many employees stocking the shelves. I even got a $5 coupon off $30.00 from a very nice lady, and engaged in many cool conversations. Enjoy the pics!

Checklanes and #produce department @yelpdc #aldi #grocery - The image depicts the interior of an ALDI grocery store in Kensington, MD. The store features produce sections with various fruits and vegetables, shopping carts, and checkout counters. Overhead lighting includes modern linear fixtures, and the ceiling has visible industrial ductwork. Promotional signage and product displays are present near the checkout area, with customers shopping in the background. The store layout emphasizes efficiency and accessibility for shoppers.

All good and dandy until you buy something bad and then management doesn't even apologize for the inconvenience when you want a refund. RUDE

Just an updated review of how much I love this place. It's been about a year since my last review…read moreand it feels people are a bit more organized with their set up. I still really like Rita's but right across from them is a wonderful charcuterie/beef selection. I usually get their naked bacon and black pepper bacon because my boyfriend loves it. They also sell really good hot dog sausages on the side. Verna's bakery is another up and coming one with their smoothie selection. I'm huge into their green machine. It's busy but everything moves fairly quickly.

My hubby and I caught the tail-end of the market and bought some treats to take home! Veg Heaven - Scrumptious vegan pastries particularly the moist and fluffy blueberry muffin! The banana muffin and apple turnovers are tasty too. While the bbq fried chicken sandwich was fun to try, it was dense and messy. The chocolate eclairs that I got from the Capital Harvest on the Plaza farmers market in DC was divine. The pastries rotate around different farmers markets, will have to check out their Tyson's location! Twin Valley Distilleries - The whiskey and flavored rum tasting was too tempting to pass up a bottle! The sweetness of the fresh juices perfectly masked the rum, cutting the alcohol content to 15% ABV. Refreshing and perfect for a warm summer day with a nice kick! We bought all 3 flavored rums at $25/each - Hibiscus Sorrel, Fruit Punch, and Pineapple. Potomac Sweets - The croissants and decadent pastries looked scrumptious! Although the pastries are stored in a glass display case, they are still baking under the sun and are dry and stale. The brownie was alright. Recommend grabbing a pastry here bright and early when the market opens. Senzu Juice - Refreshing cold-pressed juices. The "Refresh" Watermelon Mint juice is my favorite. Liberty Delight Farms - All sorts of dog goodies from raw bones to chunky pieces of dried beef heart and chicken/beef liver. Treat your dog at the market! Great place to grab some breakfast and some treats to take home!

From the second you walk in, it's clear this isn't your average scoop shop. The atmosphere is warm, nostalgic, and just chaotic enough (in the best way) to feel like you've stumbled onto a local secret that everyone somehow already knows about. And then there's the ice cream... which is borderline ridiculous. Every flavor tastes like it was made five minutes ago by someone who actually cares: rich, creamy, and unapologetically indulgent. None of that airy, melts-before-you-sit-down nonsense. This is the kind of ice cream that makes you pause mid-conversation just to process what just happened on your taste buds. Whether you're going classic or trying one of their more creative flavors, it hits every single time. And the portions? Well, let's just say they don't believe in heartbreak. You ask for a scoop and they hand you something that feels like a small personal victory. What really seals it, though, is the consistency. You can come in on a random weekday or a packed weekend night, and it's the same quality, same energy, same "why is this so good?" moment every time. Bottom line is that Sarah's isn't just ice cream: it's a ritual, a reward, and honestly, it'a a bit of a problem once you realize how often you're craving it. 10 out of 5 stars, no notes.

Unlike those 1-800 flowers, FTD flower or From you flowers big websites, you know exactly whom you are dealing with and feel more confident that no mistakes will be made. I ordered various flower arrangements from the internet vendors before. While their overall prices are cheaper than the local florists, the flowers did not make it to the funereal home until the memorial service was over! Same thing happened to another arrangement for my friend's birthday, they didn't deliver it until the very next day. My only complain was the delivery fee was a bit higher than other florists, basic fee was $17.95 plus additional $12 if you want it deliver by noon. I knew I could save at least $40 to $60 ordering from those internet vendors but still chose Hoover-Fisher because of their reliability, can't afford to have any delay with funeral. I would most likely use this florist again but really hope they could lower the delivery fees in the future.

I introduced her to "Baci" Chocolate a candy from Italy, varieties of milk & dark chocolate stuffed w/hazelnuts also on sale. I enjoy them during the holidays. And purchased the milk chocolate version & a salty treat. Well she noticed the dark chocolate display was empty. She asked a store associate if more "Baci" dark chocolate was available? A young man checked inventory & found none. Then he checked some other display & found (2) bags-"Baci" dark chocolate candy. My friend was thrilled & appreciated his diligence. This is a Wonderful example of outstanding customer service. See Photo!

No one should be verbally harassed, mocked, or intimidated over wine. Shut it down. I've been a loyal customer at Rodman's Wine, Beer & Gourmet for quite some time. However, my recent experience was deeply upsetting and completely unacceptable. I walked in after a facial treatment (still healing, visibly wearing recovery cream), and was met with inappropriate behavior by a male employee who aggressively questioned my age while examining my ID--despite it clearly stating my birth year. Instead of conducting himself professionally, he loudly announced my birth year in front of other customers, challenged me on my age, and insisted I declare it aloud. This was not only invasive but also deeply humiliating. When I asked why that was necessary, he escalated the situation by telling me to "lower my voice" or I wouldn't be allowed back in the store. That is not customer service--that's verbal intimidation and public shaming. To the woman at the register who knows me and treated me with grace--thank you. To management: You should be ashamed to have someone representing your business like that. After the disturbing behavior, three men came outside the storefront looking around casing the parking lot--an apparent attempt to intimidate. Thankfully, my husband was made aware immediately and we will be filing a report. Women should not be made to feel unsafe for simply buying a bottle of wine. To anyone who's ever been mistreated or disrespected by the staff at this location: File a formal complaint with the Montgomery County Alcohol Board. You are not alone--and this kind of behavior should never be tolerated.
