    Flower Arrangement 12.11.2024

Harris Teeter Florist, at Crown, Gaithersburg has been the most undiscovered local treasure to many. I love these flower arrangements. They are beautiful and inexpensive. Their Florist - Leah, would make beautiful arrangement within your budget. She has made me many flower arrangements. I felt compelled to write a review to show my appreciation. This was from today, my husband brought one home for me. So beautiful!

We picked up a few Ingredients to make pizza and decided to get a few other grocery items. There was a lot of fresh produce here today. The odd thing was that there were no carts available at the entry way. I guess people were shopping ahead of the snow that was predicted to come tomorrow. My husband had to follow someone to their car to get a cart. Nevertheless, there were lots of sales going on in the store. The checkout person was pleasant and we were through the checkout quickly.

Clean, bright and very well stocked. Harris Teeter is a top tier supermarket with high quality and prices that generally tend to reflect that. Which is not to say that you can't find a bargain at an HT, it's just that if you're doing your full shop here it won't be cheap. This is a pleasant shopping experience. The associates are nice and smiling. The store is laid out in a logical manner with a very tidy produce department and a full stocked meat department. I was able to easily find what I needed for hotel room snacks and drinks. Paying at the self-checkout went well. Note that they do have a discount program "Very Important Customer" where you can enter your phone number. If you're not a member, try the usual 867-5309 with a random area code. Don't click https://youtu.be/6WTdTwcmxyo unless you want an earworm. [Review 14261 overall, 1585 of 2020, number 583 in Maryland.]

Expensive, but clean, though out of stock on so many things, and the sale items were generally things folks would prefer on some other season. Sigh... all in all, I am likely to shop elsewhere.

    Amazing cake selection

First let me say that I have never felt so compelled to write a review about a grocery store but I have had nothing but good experiences at the Harris Teeter in Gaithersburg. It started with Ed right before Halloween who was as friendly as can be and helped us find great deals on decorations and candy (without us asking first) and cut to today when my girlfriend and I were looking for a cake and Beatriz (cake decorator) went above and beyond to show us several options and even allowed us to try one of the cakes. This is the level of customer service that all companies should provide. Until this point I had only been to Harris Teeter once, but because of their customer service I will make it a point to drive the extra 10 minutes to come here. Hope all who read this are safe and healthy!

No this place is not 24 hours. I'm pretty sure it was a few months ago when I tried to go to Target and the online store hours said they were open later than they actually were. I'm done with Harris Teeter though. Last time though the store, struggling to get my food while entertaining my special needs 3 yo. Every department had someone stocking or doing inventory, making the quick stop a challenge to navigate through crowded aisles. After all my efforts, I get to the check out only to find out the we're going to make me self check my own cart. I was livid. They had 5 people around the registers and a manager but wouldn't open a lane for me. I left my cart full of groceries at the check out. After making a 4am run today to find they weren't open 24hrs. I'm done. The food is over priced and I won't be back.

    Colorful produce. !

This is now my new favorite Harris Teeter! It is spacious. The produce is beautiful, even though they were almost completely void of the loose shiitake mushrooms I was searching for. It has everything I need on one level, and a huge parking lot. It's frozen Kosher food section consists of about three sections; Rockville has an entire aisle dedicated to Kosher foods, not that it really applies to me. Employees are super friendly, as the banners hanging overhead boasts. I only wish this Harris Teeter was closer, but now I need to plan my trips here around my visits to Taco Bar which is literally across Fields Road from here.

On the TV above Customer Service, there was a coupon for $25 off your first order of $50 as an Amazon Prime member. I scanned it and successfully added it to my Amazon account. See the Tips at the bottom for more info on how to Return items. The store is smaller with the aisles more narrow than normal. With the people shopping for others with their big carts and restockers, it took some maneuvers to get down the aisles. The produce looked fresh enough and shelves were stocked on a Thursday evening at 5:30 pm. On Jan 22, I picked up on sale eggs with a sell by date of Jan 29 and regular price guacamole with Feb 8. I look at dates for the first and items farther back, and it seemed that those were the longest dates I could get, so sell by dates seemed to allow less time than some other stores. I picked up mostly items from the shelves that I tried to find on sale. I noticed a smaller selection of brands in the toilet paper and other areas. Example of price differences: Idahoan instant mashed potatoes 4 oz - $1.00 at Amazon Fresh; $1.89 Giant; $1.27 Walmart. 8 oz for $2.50 Amazon Fresh, $3.69 Giant, $2.82 Walmart - yes, it was .50 cheaper to buy two 4 oz bags at Amazon Fresh. With it being a small store, the long line for self check-out with the staffed checkout line was one. I almost walked out and left my cart due the number of people in line and needing to be somewhere else in 15 minutes, but most seemed to migrate to self checkout, and another staffed checkout line was opened, so I was able to buy my groceries in time. For my three bags of groceries, it came to about $75, but I got $11 off - so $64 which was about $20 - $30 less than when I buy three bags of groceries at Giant. I entered my phone number which got me the sale price but I was NOT able to get the $25 off the $50 first order, since I didn't have time to download, install, and login into the Amazon app at checkout. I didn't have my Amazon card with me, I thought there would be some QR wallet code within the Amazon website somewhere but NO. Tips: 1. Install and login to the Amazon app BEFORE you come. 2. If it is your first time shopping, go to Customer Service and wait and see if there is a coupon on the TV screen that you can take a picture of for additional savings. 3. You can look up the store and see the in-store deals. 4. Bring your Amazon credit card just in case. 5. Amazon Prime members, get $10 off their first Amazon Fresh store purchase of $50+. After that, they get $10 off every monthly on a $100+ purchase only in the stores. YOu need to clip the virtual coupon on the Amazon Fresh site, and it expires. 6. When you enter, the Return area is at Customer Service to the right. It can get crowded with people coming to get their groceries and carts getting wheeled out while you are standing in the line. There is a self serve kiosk where you scan your return QR code against the small screen below. I wasn't able to get it to scan and got help. A label prints from below. If you don't have a bag, there are bags to put your item in then affix the label. A large mailbox style drawer opens to put your package inside, then locks after you close it. Overall, the produce and shelves were stocked fine for me to pick up the staples I wanted and better prices than other grocery stores. Dodging around the big carts with the shoppers who were shopping for others and other shoppers even not crowded made it less enjoyable but for the savings on staples, I might come back periodically and even try the Dash cart next time.

Some were good, others were just okay. Here is what I got: CHINESE BROCCOLI - some were long, and others seemed like they were already cut short. I don't know if that is how it is normally sold. Goya PLANTAIN CHIPS - the chips were light overall, but slightly salty. I still enjoyed it. 80% COCONUT WATER WITH PULP - I enjoyed this, but I am not sure I would get it again. I couldn't find a brand on the can and some of the wording said to chill before drinking, but yet it was stocked on a shelf. I may just stick to a brand I know, next time. I also got another juice - Mogu Mogu LYCHEE JUICE with bits of the fruit in the drink, but found that the lychee bits were going down my throat quicker than I had a chance to eat them (not sure I'll get that again even though I enjoyed the drink). BUTTER CREAM BREAD - even though I liked this, it was not as soft. I got one or two other items, but I'll probably get them elsewhere next time due to the high price. Overall, I saw so many flavors and varieties of things. The place stayed busy. I would probably go back again, but with the same friend, and maybe pay more attention to details. We picked up several kimbap at full price and continued shopping inside the store. A few minutes later, when we returned to the same section to get more, all of the kimbap had suddenly been marked 50% off. We never left the store, and the items we were holding were exactly the same as the ones now labeled on sale. Because of that, we went to customer service to ask if the sale price could be applied. While we were speaking with the customer service associate, another woman sitting nearby abruptly inserted herself into the conversation and said she was the kitchen manager and that she had personally decided to mark the items down. Then, within earshot of us, she said, "So people carry items around and then ask for a discount once they see the sale price." The implication was extremely unpleasant, and it made us feel as if we were being treated as unreasonable or dishonest customers. What made this even more frustrating was that both employees were already aware of why we came to customer service, yet chose to respond with a dismissive and condescending attitude instead of explaining the policy clearly and respectfully. We were told that because we picked up the items before the sale stickers were placed, we would have to pay full price. In the end, we chose not to purchase the kimbap at all, at either price. Realistically, the full priced kimbap we put back would have had to be marked down anyway, since identical items sitting next to sale priced ones are unlikely to sell at full price. This made the rigid stance feel unnecessary on top of being poorly handled. Policies are one thing. Publicly speaking about customers in a mocking or judgmental way is another. We left feeling genuinely disrespected, and it completely overshadowed what should have been a simple shopping experience. Customer service should involve basic courtesy and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was lacking here.
