Duct feet

Yesterday I bought a box of duck feet in germantown at Great Wall . It smelled bad and sticky. It spend me $22 for nothing . I don't recommend to buy products in the freezer . Also you have better to keep receipt for return items . I won't go there to food anything . Waste my money to buy bad food there.

I bought everything I wanted for less than $40 today at this Great Wall. Dashi broth, 3 bags of bean sprouts, 4 boxes of tofu, 1 bunch of chives, ramen and some other stuff. Unlike the Great Wall in Rockville, parking was easy and best of all, IT WAS UNCHAOTIC AND PEACEFUL. Like whoa! Good value, quiet, clean, and no line for checkout? Check check and check. I think this made it the best 20 minutes I spent getting to a store. Totally worth it!

Oranges galore!

My experience at GW Supermarket was okay. I disliked how cold it was in the store and was not too impressed with the quality of the produce. The oranges I was initially interested in were the large CA Navel oranges 3/$2.99, but they were all too soft. I felt that they would not have lasted more than a few days at home and that they would spoil too soon. The variety of the produce was great, but I had some issues with the quality. On the bright side, the parking lot was fairly calm (I only witnessed one honk were a car almost backed up into another car trying to back up, as well) and like another Yelper mentioned, the line at the register was short.

This store has a lot of vegetables, fruits, and international food and drinks that other stores don't carry. The prices are generally much cheaper than at Giant, Safeway, Harris Teeter, but these aren't really comparable grocery stores. I didn't get why they were playing loud rap music with the f word and n word, which made grocery shopping a bit... unusual. The checkout area is so full of merchandise that I feel like it's a fire hazard. There's a $5 minimum for credit card transactions.

With their wide selection and unbeatable prices, this is our go-to Asian market. I come here mainly for the fresh Asian veggies & fruits, some of which you won't find at other grocery stores, but they also carry everything else you'd expect to find in a supermarket - poultry, seafood, dried goods, etc. There's a scrumptious cafeteria-style food court in the back corner we'd go to for a quick dinner in between shopping. Would recommend the baos, beef noodle soup, or the more customized 3+1 soup combo meal! Tip: Check the expiration dates of sale items. We've been close to grabbing an item on sale before noticing they're really close to expiration.

Great Wall Supermarket is an international supermarket that have locatoins in NY, VA, GA, and MD - they opened back in April of this year, so this location is still looking pretty spankin' new. Everything is neatly laid out and organized; fresh fruits and produce, canned food, meats, a selection in fish cake in the freezer aisle in the back, dried goods, household items, as well as a nice collection of international snacks. There were some good sales and deals going on as well, and nice little gift tin boxes of moon cakes and other desserts available. Plenty of check-out aisles so the lines kept on moving and everything was efficient. You can check their website to see any specials for the week. A large parking lot is available for your vehicle.

Went to this Great Wall location today and noticed a mouse running around the produce section. Cleanliness is clearly lacking.

Great products. I love the mushrooms and all kinds of greens they have that I cannot find in other stores.

Dropped by to get some Asian groceries at this Korean grocery store. Some things had changed since…read moreour last visit. Aisles of items had moved, certain products were no longer available, but other things were on sale. Got some Korean and Indian snacks, produce, pre-made Korean food and other necessary items. Had a good shopping experience at this store. Checkout and service were quick and efficient.

I had a genuinely upsetting experience at the Lotte Plaza in Gaithersburg today, and it was…read moreentirely due to how the situation was handled by the staff. We picked up several kimbap at full price and continued shopping inside the store. A few minutes later, when we returned to the same section to get more, all of the kimbap had suddenly been marked 50% off. We never left the store, and the items we were holding were exactly the same as the ones now labeled on sale. Because of that, we went to customer service to ask if the sale price could be applied. While we were speaking with the customer service associate, another woman sitting nearby abruptly inserted herself into the conversation and said she was the kitchen manager and that she had personally decided to mark the items down. Then, within earshot of us, she said, "So people carry items around and then ask for a discount once they see the sale price." The implication was extremely unpleasant, and it made us feel as if we were being treated as unreasonable or dishonest customers. What made this even more frustrating was that both employees were already aware of why we came to customer service, yet chose to respond with a dismissive and condescending attitude instead of explaining the policy clearly and respectfully. We were told that because we picked up the items before the sale stickers were placed, we would have to pay full price. In the end, we chose not to purchase the kimbap at all, at either price. Realistically, the full priced kimbap we put back would have had to be marked down anyway, since identical items sitting next to sale priced ones are unlikely to sell at full price. This made the rigid stance feel unnecessary on top of being poorly handled. Policies are one thing. Publicly speaking about customers in a mocking or judgmental way is another. We left feeling genuinely disrespected, and it completely overshadowed what should have been a simple shopping experience. Customer service should involve basic courtesy and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was lacking here.

Some were good, others were just okay. Here is what I got: CHINESE BROCCOLI - some were long, and others seemed like they were already cut short. I don't know if that is how it is normally sold. Goya PLANTAIN CHIPS - the chips were light overall, but slightly salty. I still enjoyed it. 80% COCONUT WATER WITH PULP - I enjoyed this, but I am not sure I would get it again. I couldn't find a brand on the can and some of the wording said to chill before drinking, but yet it was stocked on a shelf. I may just stick to a brand I know, next time. I also got another juice - Mogu Mogu LYCHEE JUICE with bits of the fruit in the drink, but found that the lychee bits were going down my throat quicker than I had a chance to eat them (not sure I'll get that again even though I enjoyed the drink). BUTTER CREAM BREAD - even though I liked this, it was not as soft. I got one or two other items, but I'll probably get them elsewhere next time due to the high price. Overall, I saw so many flavors and varieties of things. The place stayed busy. I would probably go back again, but with the same friend, and maybe pay more attention to details. It was my first time going to this type of store.

The upside is they stock fresh kumquat, that's a rare find. The prepared food section: They have only one pot of tofu stew believe it or not (it's the mainstay of Korean food). The place just looked sad and not well stocked. Not many snack options either.

Feels like you've stepped back to a simpler time pre Internet! -Italiano sub was perfectly balanced and didn't get soggy on their hard Italian bread. May be the best Italian sub I've ever had- the crusty bread was a first for me! -Tacchino sub was good but would be better with some type of pickle. Felt very rich. -two cannolis hand filled to order! The filling had chocolate chips in it. The pastry shell was perfect and not too fried. We've gotten their pizza before too- def recommend! Fantastic crunch and they make their own mozzarella. We also like to get their homemade pizza dough, pizza sauce, mozzarella, ravioli, and pasta for quick weeknight dinners. Their dried pasta selection is impressive and includes gluten free pasta. They are kind, warm, and knowledgeable- I feel very taken care of when I go! I made a call in pick up order and got the chicken parm sub $11.75 and gemellis pepperoni special $24. Also, the service for ordering and picking up was quick and easy. - The chicken parm sub was solid, but the main problem was the lack of tomato sauce. - The pepperoni special was a miss for me, and that's unfortunate cause I remember it being way better last time. It's cheesy, but the lack of tomato sauce and the dough/bread being underwhelming/ weak really ruins the taste experience. Overall, it seems that Gemelli has definitely fallen off in terms of the quality & taste that I've enjoyed previously. Don't know if I'd be back, but I do know that their chicken parm and polpette subs are still worthy choices in my eyes.
