This place is not eco friendly. They are literally the only Giant with signs saying no E-bikes or scooters allowed on their premises. They have security following black ppl so be aware of that while others walk out with shopping carts. Treated suspiciously everytime I patronize this location. Definitely not my Giant . The employees are always kind, helpful and friendly. The isles are always clean and they are always well stocked. I was looking for a certain item and Twesh was wonderful, kind and helpful. I also got to say hi to MD. My cashier Jasmine was kind, fast and friendly and Papis the cart man it's always kind and helpful. All of them are excellent at their jobs, honest, professional, compassionate, personal and cares about the customers which I am proud to say I am one of them. read more

It's a tradition for me to wait until the last moment to shop for food for Xmas eve... it's not my most cherished tradition... but it's tradition. When I stopped at this Giant on Xmas eve eve I had no problems at all. Good stock, good selection, good prices. I was able to get in and out very quickly. Now I will admit that it was late that night when I stopped by ( which I consider a plus to be honest). I love grocery stores that are open late. I'd much rather do my shopping when I don't have to weave and maneuver around a ton of slow moving people with slow moving carts. Sorry, I'm on a mission, and that mission is usually timed. Definitely would stop by here again if I was in the neighborhood. Giant isn't my first choice for supermarket, but it's definitely not my last. read more

I was getting gas nearby and needed to pick up some items for a potluck I was going to, so I came to this Giant location. There was plenty of parking in the shopping center, which included a lot of other shops such as a Petsmart and a Five Below, among others. Perusing the aisles, it looked like there was a pretty wide selection of dairy and meat substitute products. I was mainly looking for a raw veggie tray and some hummus to bring to my potluck. For the veggie trays, they had a good selection at the front of the store in the produce section; the trays came in a couple sizes, and you could get them either with or without ranch dressing (I opted for without, as I was planning to buy hummus separately). They also had some fruit trays, although I didn't get one. I was a little bewildered to not find hummus in the store, since my impression is that hummus has become one of those ubiquitously trendy items that all grocery stores carry now. I went to 3 different refrigerated parts of the store, including the dressings/dips section, and didn't see it. I didn't bother to ask an employee for help since I came across a veggie/herb dip that proclaimed to be made of "beans and vegetables" which struck me as being acceptably close enough to hummus, so I bought that instead and didn't get any complaints. There were a couple self checkout lanes and what looked like only 1 or 2 manned checkout lanes open at the time. The cashier in my lane was pretty efficient and scanned the store card for me since I didn't have a Giant card of my own. Overall, a passable Giant missing a few obvious items. read more

I'm glad grocery stores such as Giant here in Germantown, MD have taken this pandemic seriously. By abiding by the COVID-19 policies/recommendations, I felt comfortable shopping one afternoon after work with no worries. Social distancing markers were placed all over the grocery store, plexiglass between customer and employee in every section of the store, and curbside pickup seemed easy with their designated section. Their was a small hiccup when checking out since the customer service line was backed up a lot and not everyone was obeying the 6ft rule and I was struggling to find some items and no staff was nearby. All in all, a safe place during the pandemic which is vital considering how essential the business is to the community. read more

This is the step child of Giant grocery stores! I'm usually a fan of Giant food stores but this store has the slowest cashiers, zero management, grumpy employees and zero ambition to do better! I rarely visit this store but every single time I do, I wish I had gone without. This store is in desperate need of love and attention. My advice is not to stop here while in a rush. read more

I have been in this store a couple of times this week and the Deli counter is very dirty looks like it has not been cleaned in weeks. Liquids spilled and smeared on the glass inside and out. I will not be buying anything from this deli very unsanitary!!!! read more

The worst staff here . They are absolutely in need of formal training. You ask where something is they don't know. It's the closest one to my home so I keep going here but they are pushing me to become an official aldis customer .. I can only find my favorite boars head glaze here so another reason I always go. So...I was asked to bag my own food. Let me rephrase, I was told to bag my own food. And I was confused cause not to sound diva-esque but, I never had to bag my own food. Like...that's what the cashier person is for right? The cashier was a teenager just being lazy. Am I being ridiculous or was this rude? Soooo I went to the customer service lady and asked if that was like...the protocol or whatever at Giant (I usually shop at Safeway so I had no idea) and she was basically making me feel like crap for asking. Let me explain that I am HUGE on customer service. I will literally pay more money to get customer service. I don't mean I want you to get on your knees and kiss my feet. I mean, I genuinely appreciate good customer service. So I sent an email to Giant letting them know and I never got a response. Can I just say that my first job was as a cashier at a supermarket and I HAD to smile and be pleasant and BAG THINGS (cause that's part of the job) and if you didn't do it properly, you were fired. The only reason this Giant location gets 2 stars (versus zero) is because it actually had 6 cartons of my favorite ice cream (Breyers Chocolate Crackle), which no other grocery store seems to keep in stock (and, yes, I bought all six). I really like this place. Cashiers are friendly, product selection is ample and they have way more international foods than Safeway down the street. Also, the bakery section is amazing with tons of delicios treats and breads to choose from. Ufortunately, this Giant is rather small so it doesn't have as much selection as the bigger Giant on Leaman Farm Rd. The prices are cheaper than Safeway as well. I'm only giving it four stars because there are no self checkouts. After dealing with people all day I just want to grab the few things I need, talk to no one, self-checkout and go home. I prefer the Giant closer to my house (on Leaman Farm Road) but when we lived closer we split our time between this place and the Safeway. It's improved greatly since they renovated it; it's nicer and cleaner and the checkouts are better. read more

This particular location is just awful. It's smaller than most of their stores, and they never have what I'm looking for. Most of their staff are helpful but last time I went in the cashier was very rude. For some reason my debit card wouldn't work. I was confused because it was early in the morning and knew I had plenty of money in my bank account but she still rudely told me that I need to call my bank to work it out. Worse grocery store ever. I ordered a cake two days ahead of time for a get together and when I went to pick it up I was told "oh the person making the cakes just came in and we didn't make your cake" seriously?? I have always ordered my cakes from Giant. Never again..not at this location. I spoke with the manager and he acted like he was gonna help me. Took my number, and guess what? He never called me back. I had an amazing experience! One item I was buying exploded and leaked and this nice gentleman employees got on his hands and knees to help me clean it up and was so sweet about it. They don't have the scanners that many of the Giant stores do, which is a nuisance, but the deli is open later-- until 9 p.m. at least during the week-- thanthe one at Milestone. The longer hours and the fact that they have Dixie coleslaw at the deli help them get 3 stars from me rather than 2. Some of the staff are really good, but it's very and even. This is easily the worst Giant I've ever been to. The produce always looks two weeks old. Today I saw a package of vegetables on their clearance rack that was covered in mold. Nothing is ever in stock. my cashier today did not even greet me or make eye contact. When one of my items knocked over on the belt, he let out an expletive. Today the cashiers, some off duty and some on, were shouting to each other across the aisles like lunatics. I later saw them outside hollering like animals. Completely unprofessional. I come here only because it's convenient when I'm leaving my gym but from now on I will go out of my way to avoid this awful store. read more

I liked this store, I used to go there because of the deli they have good choices and the people working there are friendly. I stopped going there recently because of the new deli manager who does not take any special customer requests, the manager does not allow the employees to open and use the new meat till the last chunk, and i dont like the last chunk so i stopped buying from the giant deli. I might give it another chance if they work with my request but, the new deli manager is not capable of handeling the store, as for him customer service is not his priority. I hope my favorite store takes some actions to provide better customer service. read more

Stay away from this place. This place now has the reputation for being "ghetto" because most employees have attitudes. Loud Cashiers, bad produce, always new employees that doesn't know a thing. Go to Milestone Giant or Wegmans. read more
