I usually shop at the Trader Joe's on Route 28....but, today I was in the shopping center on Rockville Pike. I love Trader Joe's and the people at this location are nice and helpful. The store has a unique layout and I found myself turned around looking for items. I found everything I was looking for and my checkout employee was just wonderful. Another reason, I gave them 4 stars was the parking lot. It is really hard to find a place to park. But, like all Trader Joe's the quality of their products is excellent and well priced.

A family favorite!

I love this store! I will drive from Frederick just to go to this Trader Joe's location. They always have fun and unique items that I like to try. My main reasons for coming here are to buy the items that you can't find elsewhere. On this trip, I bought fresh sausage for my daughter... it doesn't have any ingredients in it that my daughter can't eat. I also love the flowers and their inexpensive price! I recently bought a large number of flowers and filler--so that my family could put together floral arrangements. (Probably the least expensive of flowers around!)

Having a Trader Joe's not far off of Rockville Pike is probably one of the best things since moving to this city. I've only gone a handful of times because it's a pricer grocery store. But they truly do have everything you need. I tend to buy most of my salads, fruits and any snacks/chips at Trader Joe's. Their produce section is always fresh and that's what I love about shopping here. Service is always top notch and staff are very helpful/friendly. It's definitely more crowded in the evenings (any day of the week) so I always try to go morning or early afternoons. Aisles are clean and the store is always organized.

The shelves are extremely well organized

I came in around 3 p.m. on a Wednesday afternoon. There was not a lot of traffic on the parking lot and there was a slow pace in the store. Usually, I come here on the weekends, but on weekends it is very hectic, which makes shopping on the weekends very stressful. In regards to my review of my visit to the store, I found a parking spot with no problems and walked straight into the establishment. It was neither too slow or too busy, it was just the perfect amount of customers to make the store run smoothly. It was an extremely well organized store and there were several employees engaged in restocking, organization and helping the customers. I really appreciated how well organized the store was. My checkout process was very quick and easy due to the fact that every cash register had an employee at it, so I was able to exit very quickly. Overall, my experience at Trader Joe's was exceptional. The store was well-organized, with plenty of employees available to assist customers and keep the shelves stocked. The checkout process was efficient and quick, thanks to the availability of cashiers at every register. I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of crowds and hectic atmosphere, making my shopping experience enjoyable and stress-free. Furthermore, I would like to give a shout out to Greg, who was my cashier. He was efficient while checking out customers, and he made entertaining conversions along the way. As it came to the time for me to pay, we talked about the Kimbap, and he recommended other things that I may want to try at the store, making me think about coming back next week to try them out. Overall, I hope that trader joe's management will be able to see this review because Greg is a great asset to the store and he cares about the work he does as well as the organization he works for.

Much bigger than the one on Darnestown road. Veggies cost similar to asian stores. Friendly staff willing to help and point you in the right direction. Good place to explore and try new things. Found ube spread and crunchy speculous spread. Came here looking for their #1 consumer Reports rated sunscreen spray and bought a bunch for upcoming beach vacays. Because we're in MoCo, this branch does not have alcohol. Love wandering the aisles and picking up some new snacks to try.

Hand it to this Spot! They always get all my extra Coins.....as the girls would say! Discover so much here and such a desire to buy all you embrace. Fruit is always Fresh, Veggies as well crisp and decadent. Meats hands down, this is the place to grab whatever you need! My go to for flowers and plants always so Beautiful and so vibrant. The crew I deal with are always friendly and helpful, an occasional smart ass here & again. But overall I keep comin back because of product and obviously the treats! New York Cheesecake now? DAMN THEY HAD ME AT HELLO! Gonna keep this business open for a long time as I love the experience here and the suggestions are off the Chain! Being I love to cook it's a No BRAINER! Thanks to your crew Ted! You guys are the best. Iman S. My new baby to my plant world. ZZ Plant just love it!

I only really want to say one thing: You must try the ube ice cream from Trader Joe's. It is super delicious and life changing. As a Filipino dude with experience eating many different ube-flavored items, I believe that I have some credibility. Otherwise, this TJ's location is nice with friendly staff and clean aisles. Of course I'll be back for more!

This location is the one that used to be across the street from Lakeforest Mall. However, This Trader Joes saddens me. Very small parking lot. Employees here are slim to none. The ones that are friendly but overworked. Check out lines are slow and long. Avoid coming here on the weekends because you will encounter screaming bratty children running wild throughout the store and the parents not even giving a care in the world. Most popular items are usually out of stock. I love buying their pizza dough. I love making home made pizza. However the herb pizza dough is to avoided. It has a weird aftertaste. I love their fruits and veggies. They seem to last a lot longer than places like Giant. There seasonings are limited but their everything bagel seasoning is definitely a must have in your pantry. They also have samples everyday. Which is always a winner because theres products that I wouldn't have discovered if I didnt try their samples. At times, their fresh flowers collection is a win. You'll see them as you enter the store. They seem to run out of a lot common items. No matter when you come in the week. I was hoping for a better experience once they moved from their Gaithersburg location but no. I hope they can work on their inventory.

They have many foods, snacks, and drinks that you cannot find in Hmart and Lotte. I bought some Japanese snacks that I grew up eating, as well as a specific brand strawberry - green tea that I haven't found in any other local Asian grocery store yet. I also found more flavors to a specific sparkling drink brand that I like and haven't found in any other local Asian store yet. Interesting fact, some of the Japanese snacks that I grew up eating were from this Chinese grocery store that no longer exists in Chinatown, DC. They brought back memories and nostalgia. This shop is small but you can find so much around and in between the aisles and shelves. Our family enjoyed looking at the bowls, eating utensils, beauty products, and hello kitty stuff (my daughter specifically). Service was so friendly. They gave my two little kids each a piece of Japanese gummy candy. My kids were so happy.

That's a little high, considering they weren't super stuffed with filling, but it seems like that price is pretty standard for the area. The tuna and mayo was kewpie which I appreciated, so it didn't taste like a tuna sandwich in rice. Lol. I only interacted with one employee here and that was the cashier. She was very nice and smiley.

It can be quite crowded, and may look a little run-down compared to Whole Foods. But if you're interested in fresh, quality fruit, vegetables, and meat/fish at good prices, the only competition around DC is really other Chinese or Korean supermarkets.

There are a lot of trollers writing fake bad reviews about this store, which sadly does not…read moresurprise me. The store is pretty good quality, otherwise I wouldn't be going a few hours out of my way to shop here. Things are tidy, neat, organized and lots of great selection for such simple things as soy-sauce, especially if you are a connoisseur, which one becomes if you are Asian and into cooking. Being a vegetarian, there are lots of choices in fresh veggies and fruits, and great Asian choices. There are also aisles for tea, noodles, and cookware. My problem is that their checkout system is not sufficient. I cannot help noticing that in DC Metro all these Asian stores hire a high proportion of Latinos. They work at the counter and in the back and number more than the Asian workers. Having come from an Asian small grocery, everyone my parents hired were Asian. They offered pay to Asian college students. They know that Asian-Americans would like to work, and can do at least as good a job in sorting, processing, cashiering. My mom was a very good cashier when she helped out. They can stand the work for long hours just like in China. But here, they are NOT giving enough of those kinds of opportunities to Asian-Americans, even all the college students in UM or MCC who would also love a PT job. Specifically, I became angry because a Latino couple stood behind me and was bum-rushing me at the counter. They tried to cut in front of me, but I pointed out my place in the line. I had just as small a basket of items as they did, so they should have been willing to yield, but they were not. When it came to putting things in my shopping bag to take out, the Latina cashier barely helped me. Then I had to pay, but the Latino couple was trying to crowd me out, since i like to stand right in front of the register to receive my change, which I have a right to. Instead they objected to my wanting to stand at the counter table. Then when I was rather slow putting things away, they sort of made a jeering comment about it. This really caused me to blow my top. How many times do I come to a Latino grocery store and am very patient and pleasant? How many times do I put up when the fellow shoppers refer to me as "China" and the cashier is a tiny bit edgy? They never hire Asian Americans to work at any Latino grocery stores that I know about! Never! I never see them cooking in the back, doing packing work, or cashiering! As for Indian grocery stores, it is also totally out of the question! They also proudly hire all of their own to pack, sort, cook, bake, their Indian cuisine! Asian-American businesses cannot even have the dignity of hiring all Asian workers many of who would love to work. Instead, they have to cater to corporate America and hire just so many Latino and black workers for their stores, and whether this is due to DEI is perplexing. Again, I never see that Latino/Black grocery stores are hiring any Asian American workers. That simply is not required so it does not happen! So these corporate pressures push Asian Americans who are more average students and from the lower-income towards crime and towards the underworld. They even have to work at nail-salons where they have to slavishly cater to the whims of women pretending to be mistresses and subject to all manners of abuse. From there they can fall victims of cancer, and rape, and much worse as they cater to the whims of disgusting creatures hoping for their moral downfall. This would be less if Asian Americans stood up for themselves by having all-Asian businesses like they do on the West coast, and where the authorities still respect and honor family businesses and allow them to hire as many of their own kind as they wish, because I absolutely refuse to believe that Asian Americans young or old would NOT want to work at these Asian supermarkets if they were given a chance! Just look at all those Asian housewives shopping here! They are so quick and grabby and focused that they just swim through the cashier line and never mind anything. They certainly would not mind some jeering by a few mouthy other minorities! Failing this, then the other option for older disabled Asian-Americans being bum-rushed and treated to Spanish conversation at this store at the check-out counter, is to PLEASE CONSIDER PUTTING IN SELF-CHECKOUT COUNTERS. I pointed this out to a manager, but he said all he can do is report any problems with checkout to the owner. CVS, Target, Walmart, and many other stores have gone Self-Checkout and it is to help accommodate shoppers since these self-checkout offer more space and a bit more time as well. There is nobody standing right behind you crowding in on you and talking up to the cashier. They can go to almost any other store in this region anyway and find a few Latino grocery stores to shop and play bum-rush at the checkout.

On the TV above Customer Service, there was a coupon for $25 off your first order of $50 as an Amazon Prime member. I scanned it and successfully added it to my Amazon account. See the Tips at the bottom for more info on how to Return items. The store is smaller with the aisles more narrow than normal. With the people shopping for others with their big carts and restockers, it took some maneuvers to get down the aisles. The produce looked fresh enough and shelves were stocked on a Thursday evening at 5:30 pm. On Jan 22, I picked up on sale eggs with a sell by date of Jan 29 and regular price guacamole with Feb 8. I look at dates for the first and items farther back, and it seemed that those were the longest dates I could get, so sell by dates seemed to allow less time than some other stores. I picked up mostly items from the shelves that I tried to find on sale. I noticed a smaller selection of brands in the toilet paper and other areas. Example of price differences: Idahoan instant mashed potatoes 4 oz - $1.00 at Amazon Fresh; $1.89 Giant; $1.27 Walmart. 8 oz for $2.50 Amazon Fresh, $3.69 Giant, $2.82 Walmart - yes, it was .50 cheaper to buy two 4 oz bags at Amazon Fresh. With it being a small store, the long line for self check-out with the staffed checkout line was one. I almost walked out and left my cart due the number of people in line and needing to be somewhere else in 15 minutes, but most seemed to migrate to self checkout, and another staffed checkout line was opened, so I was able to buy my groceries in time. For my three bags of groceries, it came to about $75, but I got $11 off - so $64 which was about $20 - $30 less than when I buy three bags of groceries at Giant. I entered my phone number which got me the sale price but I was NOT able to get the $25 off the $50 first order, since I didn't have time to download, install, and login into the Amazon app at checkout. I didn't have my Amazon card with me, I thought there would be some QR wallet code within the Amazon website somewhere but NO. Tips: 1. Install and login to the Amazon app BEFORE you come. 2. If it is your first time shopping, go to Customer Service and wait and see if there is a coupon on the TV screen that you can take a picture of for additional savings. 3. You can look up the store and see the in-store deals. 4. Bring your Amazon credit card just in case. 5. Amazon Prime members, get $10 off their first Amazon Fresh store purchase of $50+. After that, they get $10 off every monthly on a $100+ purchase only in the stores. YOu need to clip the virtual coupon on the Amazon Fresh site, and it expires. 6. When you enter, the Return area is at Customer Service to the right. It can get crowded with people coming to get their groceries and carts getting wheeled out while you are standing in the line. There is a self serve kiosk where you scan your return QR code against the small screen below. I wasn't able to get it to scan and got help. A label prints from below. If you don't have a bag, there are bags to put your item in then affix the label. A large mailbox style drawer opens to put your package inside, then locks after you close it. Overall, the produce and shelves were stocked fine for me to pick up the staples I wanted and better prices than other grocery stores. Dodging around the big carts with the shoppers who were shopping for others and other shoppers even not crowded made it less enjoyable but for the savings on staples, I might come back periodically and even try the Dash cart next time.
