My favorite grocery store in the area. Always has easy access parking and the staff here are always so friendly and welcoming. They have really competitive pricing and have a bigger selection of goodies than other stores. The produce section always has fresh diverse options. Meat and bakery departments also a favorite as they have good cut selections and baked items. The rest of the store is huge with plenty of organic options. Lots of self check out spots and check stands that are actually staffed with people. It's a calm chill place which is nice and not chaotic like going to Walmart or Aldi. Definitely prefer shopping here when I can. Would recommend this place. read more

I drove 14 minutes to the Wegmans in Germantown that opens at 6 AM. I wanted to purchase some jumbo lump crab meat. I was told that I could not purchase it because the crab meat was in a locked cooler and the manager who has the key does not come in untill 8 AM. What is the point of opening at 6 AM and not having all of the items available for sale. Not only did I waste time going to the store but they also lost a sale. Please have the manager come in at 6 AM or give the keys to someone who is. read more

I have been to Wegmans in Germantown many times because it's such a great store. During my last visit, I stopped at the deli counter and was assisted by a super friendly employee named Joseph, who truly knew how to take care of customers. I have rarely encountered such a kind person in a grocery store. He was also spot on when preparing my order. I asked for a specific amount and he got it right on the first try. A huge Wegmans. When I went on a Friday, there wasn't much fruits or vegetables stocked. The diary section was lacking my Siggis yogurt drink and many flavors of yogurt were out of stock. There is a cute little train with train tracks at the ceiling of the diary section that makes it fun for kids. I managed to grab the very last fresh sourdough bread at the bakery. They have a nice food court section for prepared foods that you can't really go wrong with. Hopefully the wegmans in Rockville Pike will open soon! read more

Great service always! BRENDAN (a frozen foods employee), took my order of hash browns and he was able to produce the items the next day for when I have gone to the store, there was none. He took my name and phone number as well as that of my "special" grandson to let us know when the product arrived at the store. We have been going to this Wegmans for almost a year, we normally get the pre-made meals they offer, they have Salmon, Chicken marsala, Turkey, etc... they all include small amounts of veggies, for instance, the Turkey has 4 small pieces of white meat turkey, a ice cream scooper of mashed potatoes and a half cup of green beans. When I first started going there this was $12, in the past 8 months I have watched it go from $12 to $14 and now it went from $14 to $20!!! How is this even possible 14 to 20 is too much. I like the store but will have to go elsewhere to purchase pre-made meals, maybe Whole foods. read more

Mediocre Wegmans, Tbh its the worst one I have been to, and I have been to plenty. Produce is pitiful. Its 7pm and all the produce looks like its a step away from hitting the dumpsters. If the store closes at 11 when is there black tarps over the produce? Its like the whole store is a ghost town after 8. People who work there look like they rather be home then to deal with customers. Deli counter, I like deli meat vs pre packaged meat, They were already packing up. I wanted a pound of BF ham, and looked like he was going have a hissy fit cause he had to go and get it. I mean its not like Im shopping at the last hour of stores hour, this goes the same for any service department that requires a human interaction. The seafood is over price, and you deal with employees who are MIA. Though I like this chain, because they do offer a lot more than other grocery chains, but the customer service is non existent. Inventory: pretty bad, half of the stuff I wanted was out, I came here a few times during one week because I needed something, and it was out, If you have time, its best to shop early in the day, otherwise it will be out of stock. Checking out: good luck, like most brick and mortar places, they expect you to use self check out. No... first of all its not my job to play cashier, if I wanted to, I wouldve applied to be a cashier, besides they dont clean or santitize between customers, especially during this pandemic. Cashiers: you have 20+ registers but take a guess on how many are open at 7pm? ------------1 or 2 if youre lucky. Shopping carts: they dont wipe or sanitize carts after each person, like Trader Joes or other places. Tanesha the Front End Coordinator had a bad attitude earlier this week. The occurrence was recorded on register 15. She refused to answer a simple question of, "is this lane open?" She then proceeded to tell us that we could not get in the line and she brought another randomly selected couple from several aisles away and ushered them to get in line 15. She told us that we could "get behind them." The tone and practice of this employee was a reminder of an experience one might have in 1960 at a southern grocery establishment. She refused to share her supervisor's name or contact info when requested. read more

Wegmans is my favorite grocery store. Giant, Safeway, Shoppers, etc simply cannot compete with the Wegmans' offerings. As an example, Wegmans always has a fresh hot bar, fresh seafood with dishes already prepared (hello Lobster salad), and even a burger restaurant inside. Also, what I love about Wegmans is that even their generic brands seem to be quality. If you're debating between other grocery stores and Wegmans, choose the latter. read more

Okay, so this is the first and only Wegmans I have been to, and I will say that I am not overly impressed. Major pros (for me): 1) their produce is usually pretty good quality (in comparison to several other grocery stores in the area) 2) they have a pretty good selection of 'specialty' items, as well as international items (specifically Asian food items - which is nice if you aren't sure where your local Asian market is, or are intimidated by the experience) 3) the food quality all around is arguably better than some of the competitors in the near area. Major cons (for me): 1) it is a bit pricey in my opinion, especially for some regular run of the mill items 2) I HATE the way this store is set up. Don't ask me why, I just really do not like it (such a personal complaint lol) 3) They tend to not have enough cashiers and registers open and available for patrons to check out. I mean, I believe that you're weird if you go to places like the grocery store in a hurry, but still, no one wants to experience what they may consider Walmart-type waiting in lines at a nicer grocery store like Wegmans. Overall, the store is fine. I wouldn't sing the praises from the rooftop or anything, but I would definitely visit again, specifically for the produce. read more

Very nice store, clean, extremely helpful professional employees. Their deli counter is very nice and the sliced turkey is the best. Excellent produce, cheese department & bakery although I think the pricing is extremely high. Some employees in the prepared section where they make the subs can be a little abrupt. $11 for a small Steak and Cheese sub is over the top expensive and it's too sneaky that they tell you that there's a $1 search charge for steak and cheese and small lettering on the pricing sign. Subs are much less expensive at Harris Teeter so I think we'll stick with that. The variety of food at the store is amazing especially the international departments and Specialty Frozen foods. Their own brand of ice cream is excellent. The store is maintained very well, and the shopping center is safely maintained. Lots of lighting. No riff raff in front of the store. I love that you can get a nice cup of fresh brewed coffee and shop at the same time. All in all, a nice experience to shop there. read more

This is for the curbside pickup process only. The service was 5 stars, but the pricing is 3 stars. With COVID, we've been doing a lot of curbside pickup from local stores. Some charge a flat service fee, unless you spend a certain amount, and then they waive that fee. Others, mark up the prices to cover their expense but don't charge a fee. I have come to learn that the flat fee is WAY better, at least for us. I usually spend anywhere from $100-200 a week on groceries and if it's a special weekend (holiday), it can be a lot more. I have used the online ordering/curbside pickup from Wegmans 3 times now. The first time, a Wegman's person did the order. Every time since then, it's been an Instacart Shopper. I place my order online, through the Wegman's website. I can make online changes up until the shopper starts shopping. I also can pick a pickup day and time from the website. This process is pretty painless. The Good: 1) My Instacart shopper contacts me via text to let me know they're starting to shop and asks if I have any changes/additions. I was able to ask for a few items on the "fly" this way. 2) They text me, as they shop, if they are out of stock on an item and it shows me a suggested replacement, with a photo, in my text. I can "approve", suggest a change, or ask for a "refund" on that item. I really like this aspect of their app., although my phone was dinging every few minutes. 3) They let me know when they're done shopping and I get a text that my order can be picked up. 4) Pick up is easy at the store. You pull up to the curbside pickup lane and someone will take your name and bring your groceries out and put them in your car. Totally contactless. If someone isn't there, you just call the number and they'll bring out the groceries. The Bad: 1) I don't like that Wegman's upcharges on all their items, instead of a flat rate. I was doing a comparison today, and most items are marked up any where from 10%-20%. On a large order, say $200, that equates to an extra $20-40, which is FAR more than say the Harris Teeter flat rate of $4.95, which is waived at $100. 2) It's really hard to follow their sales on the website. They don't show you the flyer or the things on sale. At least, not easily. If something is on sale, I can see that, but I can't easily shop the "sale" items. Other stores make it a lot easier for me to do this, and I often buy more things, because I can see they are on sale. Overall, after trying several grocery curbside services, I'd have to say I won't be using Wegman's again anytime soon. When I realized how much more I paid today for my order, versus the instore prices, I was shocked. My two go tos for Curbside shopping right now are Harris Teeter and Common Market. I will say though, the Insta Cart shopper was very pleasant and the pickup experience has been great both times, just not sure it's worth up to 20% more per order. read more

I love the ambiance here. In terms of food, they have a great selection of healthy ready-to-eat eats. I like their grilled teriyaki salmon, sushi, and garden salad. While a lot of people think that they are way too pricey, their generic items are actually lower than most bargain grocery stores. I also pick up my prescription medications here as well. read more

Been here just a few times (once on a very busy day and another on a quiet day). On the day it was busy, the parking area seemed congested, but it was just at one of the entrances - at the time I didn't realize there were other entrances to their parking lot (that is covered). At the time, I just parked elsewhere even though I have parked in their lot once before. The space inside the grocery is very big - tried to look online for the layout and even though one is provided, it doesn't provide the specifics I need. That's okay because in the times that I visited, I had always asked an employee where something was and they gave pretty detailed answers and I found what I was looking for. I only come here when I can't find things at other grocers, because I always seem to find what I need here and they sell a wide variety of things including Kitchen items. read more

I haven't shopped at Wegmans too often, but when I do, I feel bougie all of a sudden. I like the dimmer lighting style and the atmosphere more than the other chain grocery stores. The best thing about this place is that it seems to be a mix of Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. I do like Trader Joe's more because of their unique offerings, but the variety and being a one stop shop is definitely more efficient for me. The food court is quite large, but I haven't tried it yet. They have a lot of supplements and foods for specific diets, which to me seems more amenable than places like Whole Foods. The prices tend to be on the higher end. One tip for parking is that if you don't like to be parked around other people or it seems crowded, then there is an upstairs parking. To access that place, there is a ramp all the way at the end. The best way to get there is to drive towards Panera Bread and it loops to the back and then the ramp is right in front of you. I know how it can get busy near the shaded parking and how it just seems a bit more hectic at times so I like to avoid all of that to park upstairs. The thing I do hate about this place is the location. It is close to the highway, but to get in and out of this place is a bit difficult. The way to drive in and the way to get out and back to the main roads isn't as intuitive as you think. After a while, you get used to it, but its that extra step of inconvenience and the higher prices makes this place an almost perfect for me. read more

I shop at my Local Wegmans (Frederick) and I happened to be out in MoCo this weekend, so wanted to hit this one on the way back! It's literally such an amazing Location! Love the huge parking garage they have connected to the Store! It was well stocked with all sorts of items I needed! You can't beat the variety at Wegmans with all substitutes for certain food allergens and veggie vegan types! Staff was nice and helpful!! Would definitely go back to this Location if I'm out in MoCo again! read more

The Germantown location has been there for a few years now. Took me a while but I finally made it. I've been in the Hunt Valley location before and loved the prepared foods section. I especially loved the fresh bakery section. So here I am at this Wegman's and I'm very impressed. It's a big store with not only food products but wait .... do you need a new set of dishes? How about cooking utensils for all the fabulous meals you are going to make with the food you're going to purchase? You don't need utensils you say? How about a backpack? Alright, we came in looking for one thing, Golden Syrup. It's an ingredient in baking for many European recipes. It's in the international aisle next to the marmite if you're wondering. This seems to be the only local store that carries golden syrup. But along the way, I just happened to see yum yum sauce. Okay, that has to go in the basket. Oh wait, we should probably pick up some butter chicken sauce while we're here too. You know I kinda need a new thermos bottle. You mean they have a whole shelf? So frustrating when the Wegmans app ( this has happened to me more than once) won't work inside the store or provides information that's not accurate.! Trying to find where things are and there's no one to ask without making a special trip up to the counter. When I do go up to the counter and ask them where the cashews are and that I already looked in the baking area with other nuts, the employee tells me dismissively, ¨ then we probably don't have any¨ without even bothering to check. Of course you have cashews! She then picks up the phone and calls someone and sure enough I'm directed to go to Isle 7B. Note to management: train your employees to be friendlier and more helpful and to go out of their way to help customers find what they're looking for! Also, make sure the Wegmans app is up-to-date and shows the right aisle for your items otherwise what's the point of using it? read more

The meat department is a rip-off. The absorbent pad they put underneath the meat weighted 12 ounces!!! You buy a 2-pound pack of meat and you barely got half of what you paid for! Big rip-off!!! I have heard great things about Wegmans, so I decided to take time out of my day to drive out to the suburbs to do my grocery shopping instead of going to my usual Giant. This was 2 Mondays ago; boy was that a big MISTAKE! There was almost no produce, I really mean almost NO produce. Every bin I looked in only had about 3 items eg, 4 bunches of bananas, no onions, 5 russet potatoes etc. As this was my first visit to this chain, I thought maybe they were not a produce place, so I quickly left the produce department and made my way to deli counter, at the deli counter I could not find anyone to help me, after waiting 5 minutes I heard someone calling me from the far- right side of the counter, at least 20 feet away asking if he could help me, I yelled back say yes, I would like some of the turkey that was in the case in front of me and I was told I had to go the person that was yelling at me from 20 feet away and tell him as he could not see what I was looking at, I asked him if he could come down to me, so I could show him what I wanted, he begrudgingly came my way and I showed him what I wanted, he sliced the Turkey for me and set it on top of the case and started to walk away, I then had to ask him to stop and told him I wanted more items, I then asked for some ham, the man then told me that there was some ham already sliced in a case and pointed at it. I told him I wanted freshly slices ham that is why I came to the deli counter, he then stared to argue with me telling me the ham was only sliced a couple hours ago! at that point I just turned around and left the store. I will NEVER step into a Wegmans again; I will patronize my local Giant and Safeway from now on! read more

After several more trips here, I decided to upgrade my rating. What helped shopping here is their iPhone app - I created my shopping list and it groups all the items to the appropriate aisle number. No more wandering around aimlessly trying to find stuff. Another plus is they carry the pastabilities hot tomato spicy oil here - located by the olive oils - so good. They also carry the earth friendly ice melt - safe on concrete! I've literally been to a Wegman's location like twice in life. LOL They are somewhat hard to come by. I live in S.S so the closest location would be either Gaithersburg or Columbia. Still a hike either say when I live less that 5 mins from a Giant and Safeway. Even though I've been to a Wegmans less than a handful of times, I was always in awe of how much they have to offer. I mean the place is huge and probably carries everything you need for groceries. This time around, I went specifically for their flowers for Mother's day. One of my best friends gets her flowers from Wegmans all the time and they always look beautiful. I was highly surprised to see the assortment and the abundance of flower options a day before Mother's day. I thought everyone would be swarming to the point where they couldn't keep up. I appreciated that there were flowers right up front when you walk in with more in the back of the store in their flower department. I was in and out within 20 mins with 2 beautiful arrangements. I hear that Wegman prices are kind of high compared to other grocery stores but i would def make another effort to actually walk the entire store to see what more they can offer. read more

National emergency declarations can sometimes bring out the worst in people, but today I saw the best in people, especially Wegmans employees. I came here to purchase milk and frozen orange juice. I asked one of the guys who was stocking the shelf where I could find frozen juice, and not only did he point it out, he walked over with me, which I didn't really expect from him. I was able to grab the last frozen juice container in the freezer. Later in the prepared foods section (restaurant?) a lady behind the counter helped me find a ready to cook salmon dinner and recommended some other dishes available. My all time favorite grocery store!!! They have a market cafe as well, so It doubles as a buffet style a la carte place to eat, with plenty of seating and free WiFi! It would actually be a great place to study considering It closes at midnight every night. As far as the cafe, all the hot and cold foods are great! So many options from pizza, to soups, sushi, salads, etc. and their desserts and baked goods are incredible. They also have prepared meals with calories included readily available for take home, which is so great and convenient. You can find healthy meals, vegetarian options, or if your craving some good soul food like Mac n cheese or mashed potatoes they got that too! As far as the shopping experience for groceries, all the staff is always so friendly. I love the whole ambiance and culture of wegmans. One of the workers is deaf and I love that they are an equal opportunity employer. This grocery store is very large, everything you need is there. They have an entire section (a few aisles) dedicated to health foods, which really makes me love wegmans for there great selection of vegan/health food options.
