The store is clean and well organized. We picked up a few things, they didn't have the fresh dill we needed.

And again! More bad produce! This never happen before. Check your produce! If you don't want to lose customers!

Snider's is great!!! Yeah, it's small. Yeah, it has a limited selection of some items. Yeah, parking can be cramped at times. I discovered a secret today: Go during the peak of Passover. I went today (the first full day of Passover) at 10 am and the store was empty!!! What I like best about Snider's: * Fresh produce * Friendly staff * Lower prices * Cheap wine * Cheap wine (I purposely repeated that one!) Also not to overlook is the 'bargain' area when you first walk in. The dairy case contains sale items for things soon to pass their expiration dates. For example, a 7oz wheel of brie expiring on April 22 is just $1.98. Calavo guacamole with a sell by date for next week is just $1.98 too. One of my favorite finds is the containers of Uptown pastries. I got six jumbo muffins for $3.98. Carrot, chocolate chocolate chip, blueberry and cranberry, yum! They also have packages containing danishes and scones. My neighbor works at Whole Foods in Georgetown, but does her regular shopping here. I usually stop in only for wine and fresh cut flowers, but after today, I plan to shop here more often. It's not a chain; it's family owned and locals love it. The staff seem to like it to. When Jerry Snider passed away from lung cancer at age 80 earlier this year, the staff placed a plaque on the wall out front in his honor. Definitely a place to shop for this and that. You may not find your favorites, but cheap wine is cheap wine. :)

I've pass this place for years, not knowing if they were even really an operating business. After, looking into it, I learned their open and actually a great place to shop. So, today I stopped by for my first visit. I will definitely shop here again. The store is small, yet having all essential items. You don't feel the stress of larger grocery stores. I found some great items( I've never seen elsewhere). Sniders have all the local breweries stocked on their shelves. The produce and meats appeared very fresh ( I'll update you all on that in later post). Definitely stop by Sniders if your in the area.

So many everyday and unusual products at a fraction of the price you would pay for the same thing in little bottles, boxes or jars. My favorites are oatmeal and spices. Second, the wine section often has good prices on decent wines. Not easy to find these days. Some of them are organic. And finally, there are some freshly prepared foods that make the co-op a destination store for me. Sushi. And those spicy samosas that are kept in the warmer near the soups. Especially the cabbage one! Apparently they are made by Zemen, the Ethiopian grocery on Maple, so you could also look for them there. That is the co-op the way I experience it. But it is waiting for you to discover your own - the possibilities are endless

Yes this place is in fact more expensive than a traditional grocery store, but the bulk section with one of the only bulk season spots in the area. Disappointing and embarrassing experience. I was shopping with a personal backpack and reusable bag…read morebecause of the store's restrictive bag policy. While browsing produce, I briefly placed a bag of kale in my backpack while continuing to shop openly in plain view. An employee approached me near the seafood counter and essentially implied I might be stealing, telling me I needed to take it out of my bag because he "didn't want me to get in trouble." The interaction felt unnecessary, humiliating, and accusatory -- especially since I was not hiding merchandise or behaving suspiciously. What made it worse was that the store seemed understaffed in areas that actually affect customer service: most checkout lanes were closed, customers were forced into self-checkout, and basic assistance throughout the store was lacking. I understand stores have loss prevention concerns, but there's a respectful and professional way to handle those situations. Instead of making paying customers feel singled out, management should focus on improving customer service and staffing.

It took me a minute to find this place and when I did I had to figure out where items were inside. Once inside I went about my way and figured out where things were. I browsed a bit and figured out what I needed and how much would fit in my bag. Metro is not the way to go to go full out grocery shopping. Making my way to the register was easy, but the speed of getting to one is not quick. When I did get to the register it wasn't the simplest thing to use either. While using them I felt like I was under a microscope being watched by the employees instead of being assisted. It would have been quicker if they could have seen I was struggling a bit. This would have been an easier stop if this was my local store, but when in the area I had to make do.

I paid for my iced coffee then stood in line at a regular register. The cashier asked me how much I wanted on the card; I replied $100. While waiting in the customer service line, the store manager comes up and says I need to purchase that at a regular register and not customer service. I showed him the cashier who told me to go to customer service. We both walked over to the register and he asked me for my ID and then analyzed my credit card to see that they matched!!! I was humiliated and embarrassed SO MUCH that I started crying and said: I have NEVER been asked to show ID to buy a gift card! I have never been required to verify the credit card was indeed mine! He said that was their policy for gift cards over $100... since when??? The store owner really should look at the store cameras for February 5th so they can see how awful I was treated by the tall bald-headed manager! I went back to the coffee bar and the kind staff member asked me what's wrong but I was so distraught, I couldn't clearly say... I have been coming to this location since 2016; and although the store environment is under construction, customer service should still be top-notch.

I was saddened by the decision to close the base and I think having a facility to care for veterans inside our city limits was important both symbolically and practically, and while the complex was still in various stages of construction when I stopped in, the hospital that once stood near here was not recognizably present. As to the store itself, it has a lot of standard things you'd expect to see, but I found some nice items on clearance. Self-checkout was available, if marginally functional, and I found a set of single-stall bathrooms to be a welcome development, but they were only available after checking out at the register. There was a lot of weird bush league behavior going on, including a car standing out front double parked after the driver dodged in for what I assume was an online order pickup.
