And unsurprisingly there are great options for vegetarians, vegans, people with allergies or gluten sensitivity. And so many local products (sometimes apples fresh off of the farm truck!) So many everyday and unusual products at a fraction of the price you would pay for the same thing in little bottles, boxes or jars. My favorites are oatmeal and spices. Second, the wine section often has good prices on decent wines. Not easy to find these days. Some of them are organic. And finally, there are some freshly prepared foods that make the co-op a destination store for me. Sushi. And those spicy samosas that are kept in the warmer near the soups. Especially the cabbage one! Apparently they are made by Zemen, the Ethiopian grocery on Maple, so you could also look for them there. That is the co-op the way I experience it. Recently, as large chain stores were overwhelmed and emptied of key items, Corner Market managed to stay in stock of most of the key desired items, and every day you can see the owner paying attention. The Mega Mart is a name I have heard of from other places in Maryland. The store attracts a lot of people of Hispanic background; as well as others. The store delivers messages and announcements in both Spanish and English. This store also requires vaccinated and unvaccinated people to wear masks regardless of what choice you made on this subject. From what is saw, people were not being a ButtHead about the requirement. We came here for a cold drink, but found the drinks to me somewhat cold. I went with a Old-Tyme Caribbean Blend Watermelon a d my wife choice a Coconut drink. One thing we discovered quickly is if you pay with a credit card or check card, you are charged a whopping $5.00 fee. Can you say Ay, DiOs Mío!?(GOOD LORD!!?). Esto es malo. News Flash: A public restroom in ANY kind of store does not have a "Potty Manager" on duty at all times. If one finds the toilet facility in poor condition, report it to the Customer Service Desk. The cost of kosher food goods is/has been/ will always be higher than that of certain non-kosher goods, particularly involving meat products. Due to specific religious obligations which must be observed to ensure a more humane slaughtering process, a higher cost factor is involved. Carnivorous and keep kosher? Well, then. You're gonna pay more to eat that burger.
