horrible experience from a long time customer. They charged us for a $6 dollar item and the cashier Lissette demanded to look in my car for the item. When she couldn't locate it she said she needed to look t the video footage because the receipt can be wrong. After a 30 minute interrogation by her manager they never mentioned the item but wanted to prove that the cashier Lissette didn't charge 1 item and mysteriously charged a $6 item that never showed up. They refunded the difference and never apologized nor returned my receipt. Check your receipts and just stop shopping here, if you want the hassle of dealing with their unprofessionalism. read more

8/22/21 Well from what I remember back in 2011, things were different. The store was under a different name and i don't remember the name. The place may had "This is ten percent luck Twenty percent skill Fifteen percent concentrated power of will Five percent pleasure Fifty percent pain And a hundred percent reason to remember the name...," but those days are gone. The Mega Mart is a name I have heard of from other places in Maryland. The store attracts a lot of people of Hispanic background; as well as others. The store delivers messages and announcements in both Spanish and English. This store also requires vaccinated and unvaccinated people to wear masks regardless of what choice you made on this subject. From what is saw, people were not being a ButtHead about the requirement. We came here for a cold drink, but found the drinks to me somewhat cold. I went with a Old-Tyme Caribbean Blend Watermelon a d my wife choice a Coconut drink. One thing we discovered quickly is if you pay with a credit card or check card, you are charged a whopping $5.00 fee. Can you say Ay, DiOs Mío!?(GOOD LORD!!?). Esto es malo. Evidentemente, el efectivo significa más que el plástico (This is bad. Evidently cash means more that plastic) this was all new to me, but I don't see us coming back here anytime soon. The cost of paying $5.00 on top of whatever drinks wanted doesn't seem right. There was a security guard standing near the entrance and a homeless guy asking for money from the people on the way into the store. I normally dont go to this particular store cuz its not close by but i have been there a few times. The vegetable section is pretty good they have a good selection of vegetables and green leaves. Fish and meat area are also pretty big with various types of seafood and meat. Im my opinion this store mostly sells Hispanic food which they are doing a good job by having all shelves stacked. I love their little bakery section, they also have a bead corner and Hispanic pasties. Check out was pretty fast sndnstaff seem pretty friendly. read more

This just happened. My wife called the store to ask a question about whether or not they had memones. She was put on hold. The store rep came back and asked "how may I help you". My wife says..."yes...I was on hold...asking about memones". So, the store rep puts her on hold again! This time my wife is on hold for 12 minutes and no one answers. We really strive to support local businesses and will continue to do so, BUT will call out poor service when we see it. read more

Mega Mart is just the type of international market that I would shop at if I lived in the area. Produce is cheap, plentiful, and looked perfectly fine. You have to choose your fish wisely, but there were plenty of clear-eyed, flat-scaled, minimal-scent options, so it shouldn't be an issue. Lobsters were extremely cheap for this area. It's heavy on the Latin American/Asian products. Bakery items looked tasty as well. Plus, they have a full Fanta selection. Who could ask for more? read more

Mega Farmers Market is my new favorite electronic dance club / grocery store. I was there on the morning of Sat Nov 21st and the DJ absolutely killed. First, Mega Farmers got the party started right with some Avicii as soon as I walked in the door. I was jamming to "Wake Me Up" while I was grabbing green beans for $1.29/lb. I was pumping my fist and stocking up on Don Antonio's Salvadoran tortillas for $5.79 while the DJ was rocking "Dare You" by Hardwell. The beat dropped harder than a family pack of 99 cts/lb chicken leg quarters into my shopping cart during "Wizard" by Martin Garrix & Jay Hardway. The only hiccup in the otherwise top-notch set was was when the DJ called someone to cash register 5 in the middle of a song. I was definitely dancing the hardest of all the other club-goers at that early hour, but it was still before noon so it's not fair to totally judge this club before things really get hopping. If you want a place where you can find your cracker jack while you grind to Afrojack or pick up some duck sauce with your fists up to Duck Sauce, Mega Farmers Market is the place for you! read more

I'm a bit confused by the aforementioned positive reviews. Contrary to it's name, this is by no means an international grocery store; it's a Hispanic store. End of story. Second, packaged produce is awful- every package of veggies that I purchased was bad and/or expired when I checked them (once home; I highly suggest checking all expiration dates in the store). Third, mark-ups on standard products are enormous (e.g., $6+ for any terrible box of (likely expired) cereal). The store is also super loud; they play strange, loud music you may expect hear on spring break in Cancun- not at a grocery store. Unless you have some specific Latin/Central American items you're looking for, avoid this place! read more

Man, this place has everything Latin! Not a lot of Mexican though, just some.The workers are rude and don't speak English.... nada. You're really in another country when you walk in here. Don't expect any help, just wander the aisles and you will be rewarded; found an aluminum tortilla press for 15 bucks! And red mole, which nobody seems to sell. These folks have all kinds of produce and spices (and a bunch of things I had to look up on my smart phone), and prices are fantastically reasonable. This Hyattsville location of Mega Farmers recently opened less than four months ago and there is a selection of food at discounted prices. The selection is getting better, and the employees are friendly. I was able to get some produce such as cilantro, mushrooms, and tomatoes at cheap prices. My most recent trip to the Mega Farmers Market in Hyattsville Maryland was this past Sunday because my husband and I truly needed some groceries. I placed my bookbag with the security guard up front before shopping due to security reasons. The items from my most recent trip were boneless chicken, pork loin steak, fresh broccoli, some cheetos, some milk, vanilla icecream, 20 ounce container of Kraft parmesan cheese, and some chicken. Additionally, I know that I intend to be more careful with my wallet from now on especially when shopping because I unintentionally misplaced it. I noticed my wallet missing when I started to put my food on the conveyor belt but fortunately before it was my turn in line. Fortunately, a good person found my wallet for me and turned it in to the security guard shortly after I reported it missing and I went out of line to go look for my wallet (I understand that I'm pretty lucky/fortunate for that to have happened). The cashier was friendly and quick with scanning my order and my wait in line was pretty brief. My husband paid for the food of this shopping trip via me using his card. read more
