My wife and I and our best friend came here after going to Parkway Deli for dinner to check out their beer selection. Didn't look much around but they had stuff we wanted at first sight which was two limited edition Brookeville Beer Farm 4-packs, a six pack of my favorite the Schlafly Pumpkin Ale (excited as I am a St. Louisan), and a six pack Pumpkinville by Ellicottville Brewing Co. which surprisingly beats Schlafly's. Best of all, all of these items were discounted. We look forward to coming back and will have to look around more and try their ice cream. This place is such a gem! read more

If I could rate this place ZERO stars I would. I have never been treated so poorly by staff in my entire life. I recently came to this location with my cousin to pick up drinks and snacks for a holiday family dinner. As I was browsing the store, both the cashiers consistently gave us dirty looks and kept shaking their heads. My cousin currently has a provisional license as form of ID but is 23 years old with the proper documents stating that they are of age and are in the process of receiving their drivers license. When my cousin tried to explain this to the cashier, the cashier refused to listen, yelled and violently threw the ID at my cousin. This was the absolute worst customer service experience I have every encountered and do NOT recommend anyone to purchase from this store. read more

Corner Market quickly responded to my concerns. This is a business that truly cares about its customers and listens. This market is very easy to shop in because it is small but very carefully stocked. The friendly staff knows what they have and where to find it. Recently, as large chain stores were overwhelmed and emptied of key items, Corner Market managed to stay in stock of most of the key desired items, and every day you can see the owner paying attention. For the first time ever, I was denied a sale simply because the employees didn't know the law regarding alcohol sales and what ID's are permitted. As an immigrant, a work authorization card is one of the only cards I have access to and I have been able to use this card to purchase alcohol form many stores within Maryland and DC. When I was attempting to make my purchase the sales lady was willing to help me out as she was trying to find the book that has all the authorized ID's. However, when she asked her other co-worker for aid she simply said,  "I have worked for 20 years in DC and Maryland and I have never seen someone use this before" which is considerably hard to believe considering the number of immigrants in DC and Maryland. Her attitude towards this situation was completely abhorring and dehumanizing. Rather than helping her co-worker she simply walked away and yelled across the store saying "she's never seen someone use this ID before" she was ultimately trying to convince the lady that was helping me out to simply give up. As an adult I had to call my mother to make the purchase for me, since they couldn't find their notebook. I understand the whole concept of 'better safe than sorry',  but what I don't accept is her attitude. After my mother made the purchase the clerk behind the desk was able to find the book and apologized to me profusely, but she was never the rude one since she was always attempting to help me. I simply refuse to be treated this way; over all her blatant disrespect and dissmissl was simply wrong. I want to emphasize that denying me the purchase was not the issue it was her response and lack of willingness to aid. I was ultimately correct since my ID was permitted and it was in their book. P.S. I really wish I got the name of the women who was helping me, because she was simply amazing and even went above and beyond to help me. read more

As someone who goes to the corner store almost everyday I have a bad experience almost every time. A rude lady standing by the door or at the cashier being rude to students. Also their food if way overpriced I would rather go to the deli across. Never coming back again!!‍ read more

There have been a lot of things wrong during the pandemic but one plus has been discovering small shops that we might not have otherwise tried. After reading the ROTD for Corner Market we decided to stop by. The Market is located in the same small shopping strip as Parkway Deli so we were somewhat familiar with the area. We didn't have anything special in mind that we needed but we found plenty of things to buy! Turkey pastrami, blue cheese crumbles, Kleenex plus much more all went into our cart! It's not a huge store but had a very nice selection of products and a nice variety of things to try. The lady who checked us out was very, very nice. She noticed our lettuce was expiring that day and refused to charge us for it even though we were still willing to buy it. Even when I start feeling safe going back to the bigger stores I'm sure we'll take time to go back and shop at the Market again. read more

During the Covid shortages this was the only place I could still find toilet paper, paper towels and cleaning supplies generously stocked! They closed their pharmacy on NO NOTICE and left customers having to track down their prescriptions at CVS to transfer. No posting of the closure, no notice to customers, NOTHING. I'm still trying to unwind this mess. I've been a loyal customer at their stores for 20 years. It goes against everything they've stood for and I don't understand and haven't received an explanation. When I called to ask, I was hung up on. Cannot recommend anymore. read more

I live around the corner and I can't say enough good things about the Corner Market and Pharmacy. This neighborhood has been in dire need of a grocery store. There used to be Co-Op at this location and this type of service has been sorely missed. I didn't expect that we would be so lucky as to have such a top notch and professional operation. Not only is the grocery store absolutely amazing but there is a pharmacy as well, with top notch pharmacists (no CVS nonsense) that provide a very caring and personal touch. If that wasn't good enough, they also have an urgent care facility. This is perfect considering I have twin five year olds who regularly come home from school with all kinds of colds and coughs that on occasion take down the whole family with them. To be able to just walk around the corner and have access to this trifecta of services is just awesome!! Top marks on services provided and customer service!! I am soooooo sad that the pharmacy recently closed here. I had so much trouble getting prescriptions for my son back in 2016 when I stumbled on this place. Since then, they've become family. I can't tell you what a weight was lifted off of me knowing that Andy and Lev had my family's back. I only wish I could have said goodbye. We will still patronize the store, but it won't be the same without the amazing pharmacists brightening up the rear of the store. read more

This place is awesome! The owners just get it. They consistently have a great variety of the brands that people in this area want to buy. The store is always meticulously clean and organized, and they've done a great job adapting to social distancing guidelines, etc. over the past few months. The people who work here are always lovely and helpful, and they really care about their customers. They've managed to incorporate all of the great aspects of the old CCSM into the new space - although I still miss the supermarket, no other local grocery store even compares! read more

They are extremely committed to individual service. They are helpful and go the extra mile to help each person using the pharmacy. I cannot say enough about the integrity of Ellie, the owner, or about the pharmacists she has working with her. A COMMUNITY TREASURE IS BORN! I want to give my highest praise for our almost brand-new Corner Market and Pharmacy located in the small Silver Spring shopping center on Grubb Road next to The Deli and to Rock Creek Sports Club.  One gets from Alejandra and Melissa a very warm, cozy, neighborly feeling, sincere courtesy, and extraordinary helpfulness that is impossible in a larger facility. In addition to personalized courtesy, our Corner Market and Pharmacy has a wonderful variety of groceries as well as an excellent Pharmacy and clinic that makes convenient shopping and filling a prescription or getting a flu shot a true pleasure.  I just returned for a second year in a row to the Corner Market to buy canned foods to donate to a Food Pantry. Alejandra takes me by the hand and shops for me (!) because she knows what people and their children, who use a food pantry, really enjoy and like.  What  a Blessing it is to have such kind excellence in our community! read more

I love having a market close by, but my last two visits: check out clerk suggests I try CBD and says it's great to put in your nose. Um, no, not in the market. Then the pharmacist - after being asked if there is an anti-inflammatory that is not a blood thinner like Advil is - suggests CBD. Which is a blood thinner and potentially dangerous. When I asked if there really is any support it works anyway, he also said not really, but his boss likes it. So, apparently the store values marketing over health. If you need milk or bread, go for it. If you want a staff and pharmacist you trust, don't. read more

I love this place. Very wide variety of items and surprisingly complete. Also, the sushi isn't bad and it's cheap. I wish their hours were longer, but that's not a deal breaker for me. As a resident of this neighborhood, this place delivers 90% of what I need within walking distance, and has some excellent surprises. read more

It is wonderful to have this market and pharmacy in this neighborhood. The pharmacy offers excellent service - personalized, competent, helpful, informative, responsive. Welcome to the neighborhood, Corner Market & Pharmacy! I stopped by this eve. (2nd day) and was pleasantly surprised. This store is a wonderful cross between a natural market and a conventional store. Natural food enthusiasts (like myself!) will find a lot of their favorite/standard eco-food and beauty items and people who frequent Giant/Safeway/etc., will find their favorite standard items as well. Also, there is an ample section of international products. The owners really thought about the demographics of the community and filled a much-needed void which had been present since 2013. This will be my go-to store on a weekly basis so that I can avoid the larger area chains. (Request to management: Please consider bringing in ZUM body products) :-) read more

I use the pharmacy all the time and appreciate the warmth and insight the pharmacists offer, especially if I am looking for a great generic alternative to certain medicines. Great little neighborhood grocery store!!! As far as selection goes, think along the lines of MOMS Organic. They have a wide range of pastas, soups, snacks, beverages, cereals, cheese, milk, eggs, household items, toiletries, a decent frozen foods section stocked with a varied selection of ice creams, pizzas, microwaveable meals, etc. Also a ton of other dry goods, dressings, marinades, seasonings, sauces. A lot of specialty items that you wouldn't find at the likes of Giant or Safeway! Like another reviewer mentioned this place has about 80% of what I need (only downside is a very limited selection of bread, poultry and produce - also no meat or seafood - but that makes total sense for a smaller grocer). Prices are comparable to, if not better than, the larger chains! Everyone that works there is also super friendly & helpful! This is the type of place that has a big basket of free dum dum suckers when you walk in....no seriously!!! Support local! read more

This corner store makes the neighborhood! It brings a small town feel to a DC suburb. The staff is warm and welcoming every time I visit, most are students and that is fantastic for the neighborhood morale. They have always been very kind to me given I mostly just bring my 3 year old there while we are out on a walk so he can pick a free dum dum lollipop. My son and I have only lived in this neighborhood for 3 months and feel right at home mainly because of the Corner Market. read more

This place is amazing. It's really small, but it somehow seems to magically have pretty much everything I routinely go grocery shopping for. It even has a pharmacy! They're open 8 to 8, which is easy to remember. The people are super friendly. The produce is somewhat limited (you're not going to find that rare organic hydroponic persimmon here) but they have everything I need to put together a nice dinner salad and your typical side veggie for a meal. As a single person, they've got pretty much everything I need. And, I don't have to battle traffic into Silver Spring, or risk my life in the whole foods parking lot to get there.
