The coconut crab wrap makes me forget that I'm eating a raw vegan meal. The coconut flavor is apparent, but the blend inside the wrap accurately imitates a crab taste. The moss Mac and cheese feels more like an Asian take on pasta, with a texture similar to a Filipino pancit. Still, it was tasty and I'd order it again. The wild fries are crunchy, a texture almost similar to an apple but it's seasoned and covered with a slightly spicy sauce. The menu is creative, the flavors are unique, and the world is better with places like Cane and Coconut. read more

Today I had the opportunity to visit this store. I was highly impressed. I love the freshly pressed coconut water this is my absolute favorite part of the store. The prices were kind of higher but well worth it. The coconut water was $15 for a 32 oz bottle. But it's definitely worth it. I do recommend stopping by to support!!! read more

Really nice cafe with vegan dishes. I often order Uber Eats for pick up and am usually fine with a small fee for doing so but there are better deals if you order at this place in person or on their website! You can get an entree and two sides for $25 for example (it's even on sale now for $20 on their site). I ordered the Chi Kong Nuggets and Moss Mac & Cheese for $24. The Chi Kong Nuggets were delicious and I loved the texture. They remind me of tostones. I wasn't as much a fan of the Moss Mac and Cheese. It tasted pretty good but the noodles were too soft and almost mushy. read more

I hate that my first experience at this place was not a great one I was misled about the soursop in which I was told that I was purchasing the last one in the store and when I got it home two days after when I decided to open it it was not good. When I called to request a refund I was met with a very defensive demeanor by a very nice young lady who worked there. I was also told two different things from her and another gentleman who worked there during the phone call of me trying to get a refund and rectify the situation. I will not be returning to this store after paying $92 for a soursop fruit which was $19.99 per pound, And sea moss. I wish I had something better to say about this store but my experience was not great and this soursop was not good. I left a review before this explaining all of the details but it was too long so I had to just keep it short again I wish I could say something better about this place but paying $92 for two items and one of them not being good and being met with a defensive demeanor just is not ever a good experience as a customer trying to support a black owned business read more

I was walking back to my car after leaving a yoga class and saw a sign for fresh sugarcane juice. I immediately went inside. The restaurant did cold press coconut and sugarcane juice. They also had a vast menu of vegan food options, herbs, and fresh fruits. The sugarcane juice was beyond refreshing and not overly sweet. It's definitely a place I will continue to visit again. read more

This was a nice experience. This raw vegan restaurant has a lot of flavor. The Mac and cheese pizza was tasty. The plantains, cauliflower and kale was really good as well. As a meat eater I enjoyed this restaurant l. In 2023 one entree and 5 sides is about $25 which is a good price. The coconut water was also tasty. Everything is fresh. They also have sugar cane fresh Caribbean (coconut, watermelon, sugar can, tumeric, ginger and other fruit I have no idea about) They also sell seamoss gel. The owner has awesome customer service. There isn't a seating area so have plans to eat at home, park or car. You can park in the laundry mat 's parking lot. You can also use Apple Pay Will be coming back. read more

Walked in here after touring an apartment in Petworth. I was super curious about what this business was and it was so good! They have a couple options for food but I mainly went for the drinks. You could get sugar cane juice, coconut water or a mix of both. I got both and my friend got a coconut water. The two people working were nice and quick. They have a rewards program. It was $12 for a 32 oz mix of the sugar cane and coconut water were there added some chunks in. Then the coconut water was $9. No sitting room inside but a small table outside but Petworth has a lot of places in the area to go relax. read more

Well I drove approximately 45 to 15 minutes to the location. I ordered my cane sugar which came up to about $10 and I was so excited to take the first sip due to its extremely hard to get (it's cane sugar) and that first sip it was so disappointing...apparently it was old cane stalk. read more

tl;dr: Super fresh drinks on the pricier side, but they make the drinks straight from the ingredients right in front of you! Coconut Water - 4/5: Coconut water made straight from the coconut right in front of you and you are also given the flesh. Nothing else is added to the drink for $9. Watermelon Drink - 4/5: Watermelon drink also made straight from the watermelon. I seen this spot as I was driving up Georgia Ave and I wanted to stop. I went back to work yesterday and was going to get a latte but made a U-turn to go here. I was happy that I did go here instead. So we tried the crab coconut (the crab was coconut meat) it was good but a different taste and texture for me. I give them a 8.5/10. I got the fresh sugarcane coconut juice and it was amazing 10/10. I would definitely go back for that. It was very refreshing. This place is very small and they're busy but in a good way. One guy drove four hours and another lady was giving us recommendations and telling us how she enjoy everything there. The service spectacular! I can't wait to go back. read more

My experience at Cane & Coconut was positive overall. Let me explain why I'm not overly exuberant about my visit, and then I'll end on a positive note. The person who waited on us was not friendly at all. Even when we explain that we had never been there before, and we asked for recommendations, she never cracked a smile or perked up to offer suggestions or samples. This didn't deter us bc, well, customer service seems to be at an all time low everywhere these days. There's this air nowadays that businesses are somehow doing you a favor when you patronize THEIR business. Unfortunately, no one stepped in to compensate for her sourness. Nevertheless, we went on to order and purchase over $100 worth of food and grocery items. Why? We believe in raw food principles and want to see them succeed as a business. I do believe that some of their prices are very high and not equal in value to what you're getting; however, most of their menu items do not fall into that category. The pizza might have been the only item that was a bit high for what we got. We also purchased the bbq tacos and 'crab wrap' and juices, whole coconuts, and fruits to take home. The person who butchered our coconut needs lessons on how to cut one or simply buy the little gizmos that open them with the simple turn of a handle. They can be purchased on Amazon for less than $20. It would be safe and yield a pleasant outcome for the thirsty customer. If you plan to go, be aware that lots of the items taste sweet, even if they are savory items. This was a challenge for me bc I just do not want everything I eat to taste sweet. I typically like a balance of sweet and savory with my meals. I'd recommend getting a salad with your meals to offset the sweetness of the entrees. Choose a dressing that isn't sweet if one is available. The owner came out and spoke with us just before we left. I wish he'd surfaced sooner, but he did leave us with a good impression and the feeling that we'd like to return one day soon. I've shared a few pics of our entrees. If I could give Cane & Coconut TEN STARS, I feel it would still be an understatement. First, the staff is always good energy. They greet with a smile and you will never feel rushed inquiring about the menu and all the seasonal fruits, juices, and other vegan treats. My favorite menu item hands down are the kelp noodles. They are creamy, soft -- and delicious. At one point I had to call ahead to make sure they had any left because that's just how good and popular they are -- the sellout! Other faves include their raw pizza and hemp burger. No processed mock, processed ingredients and that pizza channels all the notes that I enjoy in a traditional pizza! Don't ask me how they do it. ;) Aside from the raw entrees and sides, they also sell "exotic" fruit you can't find at your neighborhood grocery as well as cold pressed, FRESH juices. Follow them on social media so you can see the deliciousness in which I speak of. We are approaching a new year, if you want to detox and start eating a cleaner diet, check them out. Vegan/plant based doesn't have to be boring. This spot will prove why! read more

Cane & Coconut is a sugarcane and coconut water store with exotic fruit options for sale. They're a new health food store in the neighborhood that offers quality juices and some great bites. I had the pleasure of trying them out today and ordered the coconut water with fresh sugarcane juice. It was incredibly refreshing and the perfect thing to quench my thirst. The juice is good but the food is too salty, and it smells like they have been smoking marijuana in there. I saw a rat outside the building on the way back to my car...typical D.C. They are lost without Khepra's Juice Bar food, which made up their menu. So now they don't offer pizza, ran out of desserts, and just have exotic fruits in the fridge. I might stop in for juice if I happen to be in D.C., but I would not SPECIFICALLY go to D.C. to visit this restaurant again. Everything os overpriced, and I ended up tossing the food, because it was inedible. $70 down the drain. read more

I'm admittedly confused about the stellar reviews for this place. After walking by a few times, including once when I wanted to come in when they were supposed to be open but weren't, we finally stopped by after a day at the pool. Craving fresh, cold juice, I knew I had to come here and bring my fellow vegan friend. Sadly they were out of sorrel and pineapple so I got the fresh pressed watermelon juice. Opted for a large and was shocked to find out that it was $15! I'm happy to pay for quality and creativity but this definitely didn't have creativity. There was no lemon, ginger, mint any other hint of flavor that would have added depth and deliciousness to the juice. It was definitely fresh and tasty but not worth spending more than 3x what I would to make the same thing at home. We got a refrigerated prepackaged donut that was decent but also $5 for a pretty small portion. It made shopping at Whole Foods feel frugal. Paid a total of $22 for a snack that didn't satisfy me and I'm sad because I was excited about this place. That said, I haven't tried their in-house food so I'm holding out hope I'll enjoy that more. Glad to see another vegan place on Georgia Ave, especially with a more health conscious focus, but the competition is steep so I'm hoping this place can step up to deliver options that are a little more accessible to the community read more

Cane & Coconut ahhh! This is the BEST Raw Vegan spot in DC! The coconut crab tacos and cheesecake are my favorites! The staff is always so nice & helpful and I appreciate they're zeal & passion for health and wellness. It's always positive energy when I enter this Divine space. Also I love the scent of Palo Santo as it's burnt sometimes in the store and the variety of exotic fruits they offer! The fact that this Black Owned store is located on Georgia Avenue supporting others in their journey to a healthier lifestyle is so profound. I LOOOOOVE this place! This is your choice if you are raw vegan/sunfired/ or just want fresh healthy good food. They have the best raw pizza that I've ever tasted EVER! The desert is amazing and one can pick up fresh tropical fruits, coconut water and cane juice. Heads up, the tacos are not raw, one needs to request for a raw taco and they will replace the corn shell with nori. What a jewel in the DMV! Thank you. read more

This place is delicious. I absolutely love their food. I ordered a variety of what they have as delivery, a kale salad, the bbq tacos, kelp noodles, and the coconut "crab" wrap. Everything was delicious!! If I haddd to pick a favorite it would be the bbq tacos, but everything was fresh and delicious. This place will be DEFINITELY a staple for me going forward!! read more

This is actually a hidden gem in dc. I stop here at least 3 times a week for fresh coconut water and seeded grapes. The people who run the place are so nice and so knowledgeable about the live foods lifestyle. They have a variety of delicious meals available. My favorite is the live pizza, but the tacos are amazing as well. Check them out. You won't regret it!! read more

Delicious raw vegan food! Fantastic! I went in for the first time today, set on getting the coconut crab wrap, buffalo cauliflower, and sunfried plantains. I was disappointed that all of those were not available and had sold out, but I decided to proceed and order the hemp burger, creamy collards, and curried cabbage at the suggestion of the man behind the counter (I'm assuming the owner)....no longer was I disappointed! Everything was so good! I even started to give them 4 stars because they were out of my original order, but had to change it to 5 because everything was super tasty . Black owned and operated in the Petworth community. I have been here several times and service has been consistently worth every penny. Ran and owned by two amazing black men who really embody black excellence . Exemplary service given with care and loving kindness. Fresh ingredients used and worth every penny. Brought my Caucasian friends here from California, they were very kind and patient with them. They cut the coconut and sugar can right in front of you for your drink orders. Try the coconut water and the fresh jackfruit it's amazing! Excellent spot for vegans! Love the Siete chips and joule bars. There are tons of little vegan snacks. read more

I stopped by this establishment 3/15/24 ordered two orders of what I thought were the plantains I've ordered under Khepras $$.00 I'll leave out the first two digits ‍ anywho reached home they were not. Yes it put a damper on my meal we made do. Got up 3/16/24 departed SE DC reached the restaurant knowing they were not going to take them back. I was informed K. Presence was misrepresented the menu is veering more healthy menu. Well I learned a valuable lesson yesterday, today PSA No matter how long you've patronized an establishment open the container before you depart. Yes it's my fault but LESSON LEARNED. read more

Meals here are easy to digest and delicious, unlike some other prepared raw foods that I've tried. There is a wide variety of snacks and juices, with the salad flavors being amazing too. I really never know what to expect in regards to shops that stock products like the ones provided…read moreby this business, but a friend's reference and some internet-research dabbling gave me the impression (and a prayer to God for that impression to actually prove accurate) that this store is very professional and clean, with staff that takes pride in the knowledge, quality, and selection of their merchandise, versus some of the more across-the-tracks "headshops" with poor lighting, a noxious stench that attacks you as soon as you come within twenty yards of it, Pink Floyd over the speakers, and usually inevitably, at least two white dudes with dreadlocks who couldn't even begin to answer any of your questions helpfully, regardless of how hard you may try. I'll cut to the chase (finally), stop smack-talking headshops (though I generally condemn the existence of any that all-too-often adhere to that basic formula listed above, as I believe that those stores which are able to sell "legal highs" but are unable to give any helpful information about their "proprietary" ingredients or warnings or, really, anything helpful that may serve as a means of reducing potential harm) and save you the (likely-long-extinguished) suspense: this shop was a fantastic departure from that headshop bogeyman that inexplicably rests at the forefront of my mind most of the time. The store is tiny but beautifully laid-out, light and airy, and very well-stocked. The employees whom I spoke to, and who were also helping other customers, were incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. While obviously you can't be absolutely certain about the contents of any of their products (as they are not FDA-approved, and the store is not a DC-regulated dispensary), I recognized many of the brands sold and feel quite confident that what you see is what you get. It's very obvious by the information volunteered by the employees (including some very beautiful brochures and pamphlets about their shop and their products -- I uploaded a crappy iPhone photo of the front and back of an introductory brochure to CBD that serves as an excellent 101 for any "beginner") and the upkeep of their shop that they take pride in the range, efficacy, utility, and quality of the products that they sell, and with each customer who doesn't quite know yet where to start in the potentially huge -- and therefore often excessively confusing or contradictory -- world that can comprise CBD or kratom or other herbal modalities, it truly seems that the folks working here make a true effort to match customers with the type of item that would best suit their needs. I definitely give five stars and doff my cap to this store -- after failing to renew my medical marijuana card this past year and having lacked the money and time to rectify that, this type of store is an excellent alternative or complement to the regulated DC medical dispensaries. Obviously they legally cannot sell anything containing THC, but that's no problem with me, and it's always good to see a store that theoretically COULD source more "stoner"-centric products and try to get away with it (we've all seen those weird pop-ups in DC from time to time), they make it very clear that they intend to follow the law to the letter. I hope that this shop sticks around for a long time, because it's very impressive -- aesthetically, economically, and by the helpfulness and non-judginess of their staff -- and I always want to support local businesses like that. (To be fair, I believe that they do have another shop in Illinois or something, but even so, it's still a small, independent company that seems to main high standards and ethics in an industry where they could easily get away with selling bunk garbage, with many customers none the wiser. I admire their integrity.)

What made the incident particularly concerning is that this was the second time I had been injured by the same checkout counter. After the first incident several months earlier, I brought the hazard to the attention of store staff. Following the June 6 incident, I sent a detailed email to the customer service address published on the MOM's website. I received no acknowledgment or response. On June 12, I forwarded the same email to Scott Nash, the company's owner and CEO, using the email address published on the MOM's website. Again, I received no acknowledgment or response. On June 16, after ten days without any response from the company, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. As of June 19, I still have not received any communication from MOM's. What disappoints me most is not the scratch itself. Maintenance issues and mistakes can happen in any business. What is disappointing is that a longtime customer reported a repeat safety hazard through multiple channels and received no response whatsoever. I would have been satisfied with a simple acknowledgment, confirmation that the issue had been investigated, and an explanation of what corrective action had been taken. Instead, I was met with complete silence. Based on this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere.
