I like the location of Fruitive, right at City Center along with the several luxury stores. Its location and the target demographic of the nearby stores like Louis Vuitton and Gucci probably justify some of the prices, as the small iron berry smoothie I ordered came up to close to $20. While it was a good smoothie that refreshed my morning, expect to pay more than your average smoothie shop.

I loved my order from here! I got the chili, a cacao shake with added protein powder, a green drink and a breakfast burrito. It was perfect for my breakfast and navigating the airport on my way home. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, and I enjoyed the view of the colorful alley- even on a rainy day.

Full order of Avocado Herb Toast

I'm in DC regularly for work and recently started trying to find healthier dining options, which led me to Fruitive. I ordered breakfast two days in a row: avocado toast and a coffee date smoothie, then a double order of avocado toast. The smoothie was good. But the avocado toast is, without hesitation, the best I've ever had. The gentleman that took my order was very personable and the lady that made my breakfast both days did so with a smile on her face and obvious care. I'll be back!

fully melted, slimy acai bowlj

Worst acai bowl of my life. I ordered the pb acai bowl. It was pretty much fully melted from the beginning and slimy. Absolutely disgusting. Cashier also ignored me while he did something off to the side. Finally decided to do his job and take my order. Would not recommend.

Beet Faster and a waffle

Cute place with a cozy, coffeeshop vibe with old books on the walls. Lots of window bar seating for people watching. Counter gal was super friendly and helpful. I had a pressed juice which was delicious and a berry waffle -- gluten free & vegan! Overall I'd recommend for a healthy breakfast option!

I'm quite disappointed with myself for just finding out about this place, especially after starting my clean eating journey nearly three months ago. Nonetheless, I was thoroughly excited to try out a couple of items from their extensive menu. Everyone was very friendly and patient with my questions. I opted for the peaches and green smoothie with protein powder added. This was amazing! So good and will probably be my go-to. I also tried the almond banana waffle which was divine! I probably ate my mini order in three bites. Ha. The space inside is minimal for seating but there are a few tablesoutside, as well. I want to try the pizza options on my next visit but they only serve them after 5 pm according to the website. They have so many health focused menu options that it helps to take the guesswork away when trying to monitor your nutrient intake. This was definitely a nice find on my journey through City Center DC!

I was here for a quick lunch during a weekday. The space is cutesy and small. They have so many healthy and clean options and I am glad because not many places have such healthy options. I placed the order for a Southwest Quesadilla and an antioxidant bowl. The food arrived in around 15 mins. The quesadilla was very dry, the cashew sauce was not great, overall it was kind of okay. The guac and pico de gallo were not fresh. I loved the antioxidant bowl except the fact that the granola had sunflower seeds which they should "declare" because many people are allergic to it and honestly i was not expecting seeds. Should definitely be on the list of ingredients given it an allergen! You dont see the seeds on the ads they have for the bowl.

Right in the heart of city center DC is the best little freshly made items at Fruitive. Getting to fruitive is a nice little walk from the metro. Depending on your route you will find yourself walking through a different art installation each season. This months was colorful umbrellas in support of pride month and the summer. It's so fun walking underneath them and could turn any frown upside down. Back to the food, on this day I opted for their southwest wrap which was very fresh and filling. I only got through about half before I felt full. It's packed with lots of veggies including romaine, corn, tomatoes and cucumber. The staff is really nice and the inside of the cafe has recipe books talking about wellness and eating more healthy. Hands down I can't wait to go back and grab a smoothie next time!

All Greens produce blend

Overall- super small cute little shop with tons of delicious, fresh, and healthy food with good service. I popped in just trying to get some veggies since I was out of town and was pleased to see that there was tons of options for me! I had the All Greens produce blend which was unbelievable. I was expecting it to be a juice but it was thicker, almost like a smoothie. The employee let me order it without celery which was flexible and kind. If i lived closer I would totally frequent this place. The street that it is on is adorable and decorated with leaves and string lights.

Antioxidant with almond butter and protein
Love K.

Located around the corner of my hotel, this small shop was a delicious treat in the scorching heat. I ordered a Antioxidant Acai Bowl and added protein, greens, and almond butter. After the additions, the bowl was on the pricey side but it was delightful nonetheless. There is a bar (and table) seating which is great to people watch as you eat. Cheers!

Veggie burger, bland patty but good burger!

While it's refreshing to see a healthy vegan casual restaurant, most of the hot food is surprisingly not very fresh and reheated at exorbitant prices. I really miss the old menu with tacos and wish there was more cold food offered on the menu. The quality of the food has gone downhill over the years. I noticed the microwave constantly going off every 30 sec and that set off alarm bells. The food is a bit of a hit/miss and would skip the handheld hot food and stick to the salads and smoothies. The Veggie Burger was quite dry and the patty was mushy, bland, and lacking flavor. t was so small and wish it came with a side to round out the meal. After spending $9, I was still hungry! The Calzone was a flop and very disappointing. After reading the scrumptious description, I was really rooting for it with cashew cream and packed with broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, and spinach. It was a mushy mess with soggy and wilted veggies - they were past their prime. It was worse than a reheated microwave hot pocket. After a few bites, I threw in the towel and $15 wasted. I could feel my stomach churning... The Avocado Toast was my favorite meal with fresh avocado sprinkled with herbs on multigrain bread. 1/2 meal portion was quite filling with a slice of toast cut into 2 pieces. I would come back for it! The prepared salads were surprisingly tasty. Of the 2 salads, the Vegan potato salad with bow tie pasta and chick pea was my favorite over the quinoa corn red pepper salad. The salads are usually prepared fresh the day of, but I would ask before purchasing. The Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin was quite tasty and not too sweet. I couldn't even tell that it was vegan! The Produce Blend juices don't use fresh ripe fruit, you can tell that frozen fruits are used. The 16 ounce Pineapple Express smoothie had a bold ginger flavor and didn't taste fresh, it just missed the mark. I might come back to try one of the other liquid meals, and the Avocado Toast!

PB no J bowl
Leland L.

This açaí bowl was FABULOUS! The granola is so fresh and I love the peanut butter drizzle. I felt like it was a little pricy for a smoothie bowl but also the same price as all the other smoothies and juices which is a little odd. It was really good and worth it though! They have nice tables outside in city center to sit.

My brother and I wanted something for lunch after going to a car swap meet. We landed on Rock Salt Grille. I'd eaten there several times before. We arrived at 11:45 AM (Saturday) and there was a 30 minute wait, so we grabbed two comfortable seats at the bar. A good call. I had the Rock Salt Oysters, broiled with bacon and parmigiana. Delightful. I also had the cream of, and Maryland crab, soup combination. My brother had the crab cake sandwich. I'd had it before, but wanted the oysters. His crab cake sandwich was double the size of any I'd ever seen, without exaggeration. He guessed it was 8 ounces or more, without exaggeration, with no visible filler, (Broiled). I had a few beers and we split the Bread pudding with Grand Marnier sauce. It was enough for four. The bar and food service was spectacular with "tag teaming" to make sure we didn't wait for anything. I'd like to thank the bartenders who served us perfectly: Kelsey and Nikkea. Award winners. Rock Salt is not inexpensive, but the quality of the food and the great service justify the premium. I'll be back more often

Two of us ordered the stuffed rockfish which both said was delicious and there were no problems with the dish. Did have a problem with a photo so that is why you don't see one below. The old bay wings were cooked perfectly. The dressing was extremely good and the celery was the best I have ever had. It was light and crispy. I normally don't eat celery, but this was incredible. I was impressed. The double crab cake dinner was perfect, along with the green beans and baked potato. The lobster and filet mignon were cooked well and to order. The accompanying green beans and baked potato were also perfect. The waiter was prompt, polite and accommodating. We were checked on by the hostess, and the general manager was seen monitoring the restaurant. The ambiance was excellent. The restaurant was noisy, but this is to be expected since the restaurant was almost at capacity. I only saw one table for two that was empty. When we left an hour later, we were the only guests left in the back dining room. The rest of the restaurant was at or near capacity.

I absolutely loved it, from the prompt service to the ambience to the local, delicious food, we had such a lovely dinner. I came for oysters and I got them. First we had a dozen raw oysters from the True Chesapeake farm, which were so fresh and flavorful. My favorite hands down was the Chunky Dunker oyster, gigantic and meaty. Then we had broiled oysters, you know, for some variety! They were fantastic. Dinner was fabulous, I had the scallops and my husband had the fish. We ate every single bite, and all but licked the plates clean. To finish, we had dessert cocktails - the Grasshopper tastes like an Andes mint - and we happily headed home with full bellies. Good but not the greatest as I prefer more northern. They have a great selection of oysters locally available so everyone could find one they'd like. I preferred one of them but they didn't identify which was which.

We were only in Baltimore for one night and leaving town right after this meal so I wanted some authentic Maryland Crab. Yelp helped with my decision with choosing Loch Bar. We arrived in the middle of happy hour. It was freezing and extremely windy outside so it was the perfect coziness to eat some seafood, at least in my opinion. We sat at the bar because that included happy hour items and there were a lot of empty seats. Immediately upon sitting, we were greeted by the bartender. I didn't catch his name but he was about 6 ft tall, slim, African American, and maybe late 20's/ early 30's. Very friendly, attentive, and professional. We ordered several items from the happy hour menu but I really wanted to try the crab cake so I ordered that, which came with either a salad or fries. Since we ordered the Old Bay fries, I went with the salad. Our food came out not too fast and did not take super long, it was great timing. OMFG again! EVERYTHING WAS SO FRIGGIN AMAZING! The crab cake was the freshest and most flavorful I have ever had! The fries were perfectly seasoned and not over fried or greasy. The salad was fresh and the dressing was perfectly balanced! AND THE CRAB SOUP!!! It was the best I ever had! It reminded me of my absolute favorite lobster bisque from a restaurant I grew up on that closed. I am salivating writing this review and definitely need to come back! I loved the decor of the restaurant and mentioned to hubs it reminded me of many seafood restaurants I visited when I lived in NYC. It is right on the water so I imagine it is just as good in the summer.
